  • Something just makes me cry about listening to the music and looking at the visual aspects of this opening.

  • Very Good graphic and impressive music.

  • simply epic!

  • Awsome !

  • i rreally like this thought the font is sometimes difficult to read.

  • I really liked the letters filling up part

  • The song has nothing at all to do with industry...

  • What computer program you need to make one?

  • Very nicely done, the first minute or so is exquisite.

  • awesome

  • Nice job!

  • Would good for a period drama of the ussr back in the 1940s ,

  • nice I like the 3D perspective on the buildings. Was that done by hand or done with some 3D extrusion effect in illustrator or something?

  • An excellent title sequence and a realistric view of the "Industry" style imagery portrayed using the title sequence to bring you straight into an industrial atmosphere.

  • So i'm guessing you've finished the course now?

  • very very artistic.

  • Very good. Just like an Eisenstein movie, with the Soviet Constructivist style. Show this to someone when you apply for a job, you'll get it for sure.

  • this was pretty good - I spotted it as I reviewed my newest vid (I made a response using it. it's soviet rev. film posters so hope you like it!

  • Excellent.

  • Wow, thats pretty epic. I want to apply to the Bournemouth Arts Institute, but apparently it's hard to get into. What kind of things do you need to do before you apply, academic wise and experience wise...?

  • It's really not that hard. As long as you have a well presented portfolio ready for the interview and you're prepared to talk about your work, you'll sale through. I got an unconditional offer letter, which I was quite chuffed with, and I thought my work was mostly unexciting - on reflection though I suppose the ideas behind it were strong even if I can't really draw. TBH, if you can work well under your own steam without needing a tutor to guide you a lot, AIB is right for you. If not, avoid!

  • Also, I went to them with (uncompleted) A-levels in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Information Communication Technology. If you have equivalent higher education, that's fine too. In fact, they'll consider anyone - it's all based on portfolio, but if you apply with low grades they might not offer an interview.

  • Of course I meant 'sail', not 'sale'.

  • Этих дней не смолкнет слава

    Не померкнет никогда

    И останутся как в сказке

    Как манящие огни

    Штурмовые ночи Спасска

    Волочаевские дни

  • Who down voted this comment? He was merely posting the lyrics

  • pretty good, I really like the intro and the moving industrial parts. The Cyrillic script is obviously being used to imitate English letters, and most of the words made no sense in any Cyrillic language if sounded out properly. But hey, I'm not really critiquing you, good job.

  • I hate when people randomlyy use the Cyrillic script

  • this is nice! great appropriation of the constructivist style. the animation is smooth and inventive.

I am currently making a title sequence in Motion for my eMedia project

  • This was truly awesome :)

  • How long did it take you to do this? I've just started one for my foundation degree.

  • I rushed it to finish in the last week because I'm really disorganised. I'd probably put about 2 weeks of non-serious planning, and then the last week of "Oh my God, oh my God...".

Link me what you end up doing? I'd love to see. Good luck! And don't leave it to the last minute like me! :0)

  • You can find a more suitable typeface i'm sure, more in tune with history, while being more legible. Take a look at Saul Bass, very clean and concise. remember, clutter is a killer. Continue the motif shown with Ava Knight and Danya Cussler. Adding a red drop shadow behind most (if not the rest) of the lines, while continuing to mimic the stop/go mass production line feel would strengthen the piece.

    Good job

  • I drew the typeface myself actually. I wrote this comment once but it still hasn't posted.

  • Oh, and yeah - I wanted to continue the production line theme all through the titles, but I completely ran out of time.

  • Really cool, if only it was the title opening to a real film.

  • Its really great i´m returnin´to it again and again:)

  • VERY Well done!! (You're hired!) ;)

  • Cool - it looks like the title sequence of a movie I would enjoy

  • Cool Very 50's/ 60's Saul Bass type Titles. Good Job

  • I like the sequence, good use of layers and timing. Also a great nod to Saul Bass.

  • well even though i dont understand the words i like the tune and the animation is put together well, good job!

  • poor ..

  • Thanks for your honesty :0)

  • reminds me of Catch Me if You Can's opening

  • I like the timing of all your shots. I also like your theme. Everything came together well. Good Job

  • it's a russian song

  • Check the uploader Info. Says it all in there.

  • wow what a great video!!

  • Very nice. I really enjoy the music.

  • English later:

La canción es Po dolinam i po vzgoriam ( a través de valles y montañas, más o menos claro...)Es una canciñon de la resistencia rusa contra el ejército blanco de 1920. La letra en marxismo punto organización. (poned el título y el dominio en google).

The song is Po dolinam i po vzgoriam (Through valleys and over hills). Russian comunist/partisan song (1920) against the White army (zarism and foreign countries).

  • Check out this Osama's tape

  • How is that relevant? This area is for *comments*, not your spam.

  • Thanks

  • Excelent animation! Loved it! Esspecialy cose I` am russian guy. Studying multimedia here in england. I`ve noticed how russian constructivists inspireing english designers. And it`s so wicked! I`m developing an animation for my Final Major Project in Uni, so this animation was very inspireing!

  • Coooool, can't wait to see the whole movie, now !

  • loved the filling up of the letters too. really enjoyed it! well done :)

  • very very nice

  • One of the things I do like is the "letters filling up". It's a very creative use of masking. I really liked the first section, because a lot of the time, good titles show a bit of the story. I was feeling it with this part. I have some videos I would like to show you. my AIM is tuneunion.

  • part 3

Next time, correct for the aspect ratios of square pixels, while this may look fine on NTSC, its a bit oblong on the web. And I can promise you there is some illegal chroma in there, no network would ever play it. All and all though, good job. :)

  • This guy is talking out of his bum hole film is what you want it to be and not what convention says it should be.. I like the titles now go make the film to go with it

  • Thanks! I appreciate their constructive criticism, but most of their pointers aren't necessary - this was purely an exercise to get to know Adobe After Effects and using SWF files as layers within the software. Thanks for your support - I'm planning to sit back down to this project and make it more into what I initially imagined - basically because of positive comments like these - so thanks. It's really encouraging.

  • Part 2

On another note, I would consider switching your Post Title fonts to something more legible. If this were a professional job, you ass would get chewed out because of it. Also, the title itself should be much much larger. You can hardly see it, honestly. It should be blatantly obvious that "THIS IS THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE". And before you write it off to "subtlety"; that's bullshit, you know it, and I know it.

  • part 1

The transitions kill the consistency of the after effects work, and aren't appropriate for use in titles, do to the fact that they symbolize a passing of time, and when use in such frequency (as you did here) show only a rudimentary understanding of film. Dissolve is not an effect, It's a tool. The whole title sequence would have been much more impressive had it been one continuous shot. Not to mention it would have been less disrupting.

  • Reminds me of a terrific Red Army Chorus concert I went to in the 1960s

  • Good job. Very good job.

  • I like this, very dramatic

  • that's very good

  • I think the composition is great, that hard edge vector style is in demand at the moment. Solid work.

  • whats that song?

  • Reminds me of some propaganda films from the cold war.

  • The Russianesque text keeps screwing me up since I speak and read Russian, but I think its a damn good fake opening sequence. Makes me want to actually see the film attached to it.

  • That's uh, great

  • Good work. I hope you're open to some constructive criticism. You're on the right track with the concept but your images are too simplistic to fully realize that concept. You have some nice pacing and solid editing, so you just need to develop a stronger eye for image and composition. If this is what you want to do then just keep working at it and I think you'll get there. Just my opinion.

  • that was really well done

  • very cool!

  • wtf was that bull shit

  • Was it all done in Flash, or did you use After Effects at all?

  • Very good animation and a perfect choice of music

  • im not reely into this kina stuff so it was boring to me... on the pic. i tought it wuz a ferris wheel

  • Very good! and Bournemouth rules :D

  • Amazingly well done. You really picture the feel of the old Soviet posters. One question, what is that font called?

  • I actually hand-drew the type myself in Flash.

  • Damn, that's really impressive.

  • Thanks :0)

  • Why it is not going round the campus on steroids, I don't know.

  • I agree. Really well done.

  • I love it. Suprized only has 25 views right now and im suprized nobody has commented on it yet. Excellent very professional. That's the red army choir playing isnt it?
