  • Can PhysX be used on a AMD graphics card or is it Nvidia exclusive?

  • @HyvelTjuven just for Nvidia but it can be enable it in any High CPUs..

  • Quite too much particles, looks unrealistic, but nice.

  • unreal tournament!

  • Notice how careful they are not to shoot just the base of a column. My guess is the top of the column would just magically float in the air, like the top of the wall does at 0:30.

  • Eyegasm

  • Well all of u who want to destroy I can suggest you two awesome games: Red Faction: Guerilla (Really Cool, you can destroy everything), or get Mercenaries 2 Also alot of destruction!

  • I miss guns like that in games. Ridiculous and awesome.

  • @Huntua Have a look at the free game called "Warsow" ;)

  • @Huntua Ever played UT3?

  • @Huntua Its ok, Saints Row the third will make up for that :D

  • i miss guns like that one in games. rediculous and awsome.

  • God, I wish my carton of milk was falling so slowly on the floor, maybe I could've catch it to prevent my room getting covered in milk :S

  • Source Engine beats this engine

  • @Thoopje this isnt even an engine lol its just an option built into some xD source doesnt have shit on cry 3 or UT2011 jan edition

  • Where can I download the engine? TELL ME NOW.

  • mmm got to love those pre-defined breaking points

  • crysis and half life 2 is 100% proof that u dont need physx , u only need it for phsx games , i barely own any of them games mso fuck u :)

  • @girlsdrinkfeck crysis 1 doesnt but others do :D

  • @iwinz3 i still wudnt buy crapvdia

  • @girlsdrinkfeck nvidia got supported by a lot of game companies. Mafia 2 make a huge different when you have physx on........

  • @shortway444 nvidia supported a lot of companies yes

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

No, actually. Just because you only play Crysis and Half Life 2 doesn't mean the rest of the world does. And you're going to need a pretty damn good card to run Crysis, so might as well get one with PhysX. Not to mention, these games all use PhysX for particles and such: Mafia 2, Mirrors Edge, ArmA 3, Batman: AA, Metro 2033... the list goes on.

  • @AETutorials42 my 6870 plays all them games u mentioned pretty fine thanks, nshitia can fuck themselve

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

Exactly: pretty fine is not great.

  • @AETutorials42 fine is great to me ,my Amd card is cheaper than nvidiasfor same performane ,therefore great

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

And that's the problem with AMD: you buy cheap, you get cheap. Everybody's raving about the new X6 processor because it's SO cheap, but it sucks in comparison to a sandy-bridge Intel processor. The same goes for video cards.

  • @AETutorials42 all opinions fanboy

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

LOL! Look it up, retard. On Guru3D the Intel i7 2600K scores 71 points higher than the best performing AMD processor. Even some first gen i7 intel processors score higher. I think you're the fanboy here, because you're defending yourself with invalid proof. Just go to any processor or graphics card review website (Guru3D is the best), and you'll see your bullshit fall apart.

  • @AETutorials42 fanboyism followedby name calling ,whats next ?

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

Look who's talking there, champ. Thanks for admitting I was right.

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

Oh, and you blocked me too because I was right? Aww, cry more baby.

  • @AETutorials42 youre the one crying u little faggot ,and im glad i dont have to upgrade my motherboard and RAM everytime i get anew AMD processor ahahaha in YA FUCKING FACE LOSER

  • @girlsdrinkfeck

Thought you blocked me, you little baby? God, you must love Hitler. You two would get along great, with your anti-speech and argument bull.

  • @AETutorials42 OMG 71 points of magical fairy power bullshit! look up real world comparisons under specific tasks and youll see the difference is practically negligable. Games, you might get 2 fps more, Video conversion omg it takes amd 7 minutes to do what intel does in 5! holy crap thats worth 3 times the price for a new cpu and overpriced motherboard... I bet you think tripple channel ram is twice as fast as dual... Your an idiot.

  • @korycookmail

Dude, for gaming, it doesn't matter at all. But there are some people who NEED extra minutes, or processing power, EVEN if they have to spend the money to do it. What processors will be used by people who do CAD? Intel. What graphics cards will be used by people who do special effects for the next Michael Bay movie? Nvidia. It's as easy as that. You might think it doesn't matter, but then, you're a cheap-ass prick who wouldn't know gold from copper, right?

  • i like the part where he shot the walls with a rocket launcher

  • 7 people are jealous of the awesomeness of this video

  • is it downloadable in any way? damn wanna try it!

  • @BmikroB its unreal developers kit its free :D

  • If only this was actually used in games today

  • @blotsafun saying it is O.o...... multiple games use this in the background.. all the new crysis games do starting from warhead... they just use a primitave version its still Physx

  • @iwinz3

ive never played crysis warhead or any other new one, so thats probably why i cant say

  • @iwinz3 They don't use PhysX, they use Havok (Intel owns the rights to it and its done on the CPU, not on the GPU)

  • @Brutuzthegtamaster lol l2 read the credits??? xD Cry engine 2 and cry 3 all run on Nvidia Cuda and physx in the background lol warhead is Cry 2

  • Sound would have been nice, but cool vid anyway.

  • Why doesn't some brilliant guy come up with a very fast physics software, with the physics being calculated on the CPU?

  • @PokePackOpener14 ....? Where else would they be calculated? Physics events are random and cannot be compiled with the map

  • @poonwoofer Take a look at the Youtube channel this vid is on...

  • @PokePackOpener14 a cpu cant render physics.....i doubt that it can emulate every single particle (around 50000000) in a wall and calculate where all of them go flying in less than a millisecond

  • @SneakySoft That's why these physics are ran on the GPU not the CPU...

  • why dont they make a game when you are in a big city and make it this destuctable!

  • @ElectricDevil94

Behold a destructible city!!!(sorta, it still needs a crapload of work)

    youtube.com/watch?v=jac4sa1b990

the reason there is not any destruction on a mass scale is because each little piece has to be made and used from scratch in a dynamic environment. either that or developers using technology are LAZY : )

  • @ElectricDevil94 The sheer amount of processing needed to render each individual piece of rubble in a fully destructible world won't be possible for a good number of years.

  • this was the kind of physics bad company was supose to have.

man these last 5 years of gaming i felt like ive been lied to so badly

  • @yellowfellow Batman Arkham Asylum for PC has this type of destruction, provided you have a PhysX card.

  • Would one use 3-D textures for something like this?

  • Once this kind of physics becomes standard for games I will officially be a tunneling mole. Heck you can build traps outta this lol

  • Where can I download this level for UT3?

  • *lagg, lagg, lagg*

  • The spray on the rocks seems a bit over exaggerated towards the amount of debris and the direction. The direction of the launched debris should have a variable of the angle and position the player is firing from, instead of each hit causing a radial blast. Also, it seems like the wall creates an INSANE amount of debris, needs to be toned down a bit. Other than that it looks good.

  • @TheGuitarkid15 yeah for it to be 'realistic' some of the rocks would need to be pulverised by the explosion of the rocket. instead, all the rocks seem to fly through the air WHOLE ...and then disappear after a few seconds ...

PhysX definitely needs more work. Also, annoyingly my PC bogs down when i run UT3 with physx enabled maps. You'd think i'd have no trouble as i own a GTX480... but it seems to be my AMD Phenom2 965 quad-core that just can't deliver the goods D:

  • @BrEnNo1023 I think for the most part, we aren't going to see completely realistic physics for about another decade when we have faster processors and much MUCH better video cards. Note that they DO have the Physics down, such as being able to launch things with great force and that they are able to make a good pile of debris, its just not there yet. Really? Even with a 480? Thats rediculous! How much RAM is your PC running, cause something tells me its that thats the problem

  • @TheGuitarkid15 Well, the RAM in my system is just some ordinary 4gb ddr2-800mhz kingston sticks...but the thing is it's *4gbs*, i should have NO problems. i think its just the resolution, i AM running it on a 1080p monitor with full specs. maybe i could go for some OC'd ddr2-1066mhz. that or i could get a mobo compatible with ddr3. then again i have no probs running metro2033 on max specs, and its a hungrier game.

Guess the bottom line is there's a bottleneck somewhere, and its not the gpu :P

  • @BrEnNo1023 Most likely, because thats quite the predicament. Never heard of that ever happening, especially on those specs. Maybe the resolution, but I mean still, thats a VERY powerful card your using, so to think that ANY problems should arise from that is ludicrous. Is Metro running with PhysX?

  • @TheGuitarkid15 metro is running with adv. physX, AA and DX11 effects turned on. I only notice very slight drops in framerate in Metro when things start getting frantic...compared to the impossibly blocky state that UT3 gets into whenever that tornado comes close :P

I'm thinking perhaps having hungry programs in the background is the cause. Steam, firefox, MSN, windows media player etc all seem to be pretty taxing even when they're just minimized. i'll close everything off, OC the CPU and try..

  • @TheGuitarkid15 lol, just closed off programs and OC'd the big burly phenom 2 965 an extra 300hz to 3.7 ghz...i did notice things flew around a bit smoother, buuuut after about five minutes of shooting rockets into the vortex and dodging falling rocks and parts of buildings...the CPU promptly overheated and the computer crashed -.-

    Fail.

I think i may have found my bottleneck - Of course all along it was AMD ^.^

  • @TheGuitarkid15 Hmmmmmmm, sorry for the triple post, but i just went to a forum that's 2 years old, and they were moaning about poor frame rates on their massively powerful systems while running the UT3 physx maps; apparently the physX maps for UT3 are just really poorly optimised, resulting in horrible Fraps. (Crysis is one of those games too; poorly coded) I had a suspicion it was the coding! To be honest the maps aren't that fun to play on anyways, and their physics is quite poor. Cheers bro!

  • @BrEnNo1023 Right, didn't think of that. You'd think that games with a high budget and great studio makers (A.K.A. Crytek) That there would hardly be any flaws. Whatever, lets just hope it betters them in future games that they release. Cheers

  • the destruction in bad company 2 is in most cases "fake". when you shoot into a wall it gets a hole but this hole is every time exactrly the same and in the same spot. if a house colapses it colapses every time the same way because the colaps is scripted. only thing that "really" gets destructed in a unique way is the ground. it would be awesome if some day a multiplayer game comes out with real destruction like in this video. i can imagine it will eat a lot of bandwidth.

  • @DANgerSidekicK my bad =D

    but...

you call me an idiot again i will report your ass -.-'

  • What game is that?

  • @flubbeflabber

Unreal Tournament 3 aka UT3 aka Unreal Tournament 2007, wich is not the official title :P

  • @MrB1rdman

But the destruction isn't anywhere near this.

BC2's destruction is pretty worthless IMO.

Plus it's badly optimized for the PC

  • This destructability would own in a war simulator game

  • And this is the exact reason I love games with physics: reducing stuff to rubble with explosives.

  • One game this would be amazing in is battlefield bad company 2

  • Well ala-di-fuckin'-dah

  • ps: that's Funcking unrealistic because thats just some random pieces flying randomly...

in a wall as tiny as the first one the misile "whod"(1) completely destroid the wall

    [(1) Blank x'D]

  • -.-''

    Nvidia cuda You Fail xD

    Unreal Tournament 3 is UE 3 ???

    xDD

    You Fail !!!!

  • @bossrdt You are idiot.

    UE3 - Unreal Engine 3

  • lol @ 47, so many object disappeared it was hilarious.

BC2 is doing a better job in terms of gameplay and DMM does a better job visually.

  • Yes it's very impressive, but I don't see how this is going to enhance gameplay, in multiplayer games the map will be a complete CHAOS ! Do you think this is going to be funny? I don't.

  • @bluevision2100 yes I do. No more camping in your sweet spot. No more knowing every pixel on the map, no now its about actually immersing yourself into the game instead of the map.

  • @bluevision2100 How is that a bad thing? Dynamic, ever changing environments where you're never safe. Seems fun to me.

  • I wanna think before i shoot in shooters =) not only walls... floor, roof etc. should be destructable like that... and fucking water should leak

  • blow me . why would you want to play a game that looks nothing like the real world we want destuction and flames from HELL coz thats whats real not panzy ass unrealistc liberal crap blow it up i say blow it all up .jj7

  • nice game engine but DMM is better

  • @sup3rt0aster Course dmm is better but its hard as hell to put in a game and there are NO tutorials or any help with it

  • Is this the unreal engine ??

  • @numerical25 yes

  • what those explosions do is basically disintegrate the full sized blocks from each other... explosion doesn't actually turn it to ashes by the heat like it should be. And yet the bricks remain harmless and don't shatter into smaller pieces (in explosion or when landing in ground)

  • I like this concept and its definitely a nice step to more realistic environments, but I think its still too chunky. This isnt realistic, but at least its destructible.

  • RL ultimate physics.

  • GTA4 + THESE PHYSICS.. I can only dream.

  • @acer0169 GTA4+THESE PHYSICS... Extreme lag:)

  • @itilijen Not with tri-sli GTX480's and a X6 :]

  • @acer0169 Yeah crashing with ure defromable infernus against 200 miles per hour into a building and it al comes down

  • @acer0169 maybe 2 or so more GTA games they will have a physics engine that steps it up a bit more,.

  • @evanjamesboyle1 I don't think they'll ever to a GTA with destructible buildings, but a better car damage would be nice. GTA 4 is very good with car damage, but I want panels to come off and not just the hood and doors.

  • @acer0169 they had euphoria physics. That was pretty sweet too

  • @philgunman It was epic to see in game, but think if you could destroy the buildings like this!!!!

  • @acer0169 nope red faction gurilla is like this and its freeworld..msg me for more info

  • were might i go about finding this demo, or map already have physx installed in ut3

  • i want to have that with a 300 story building, and taking out the left bottom, then have it falling, on fire, into a river

    >:DDD

  • i played the unreal physX lvls and there boring and nothing special, well compared to GeoMod 2.0 using havok

  • Damn it do all the idiot doing these demos never think of new things to do? LIke stop hitting just the top and take out the entire bottom... I want to see what happens then

  • Bad company 2 with PhysX would be sooo awsome!!!! My dreaaaam.... :)

  • Comment removed

  • k, now if somebody remake Red Faction with apex and updated graphics... call me

  • @saberj2x Same with all the VALVe games :P

  • @saberj2x red faction ammogetion is coming out oon and in the game you can dig into the ground like the first one :D

  • @jellybeen62 i bet you will be a shoo in for harvard with spelling like that.

  • @mattakudesu ... just cause i cant armogetin

  • @saberj2x Have you played the latest red faction? It's actually very good.

  • @saberj2x Red Faction:Guerrilla is an option with the geo-mod 2.0

  • why is gravity always so low on these sims?

  • HAHA..Nice observation man!

  • This is like... chunks are the EXACT same size and vertices... geomod 2.0 beats this in the head.

  • that's pretty amazing, everytime you think the physics sucks just remember red faction 1, and don't think for 1 second the physics is necessarily better for the geo-mod 2.0 i've seen alot of major bugs in that game.also i took a look at bad company 2. the fragmentation from the bricks looks despicable compared to this. give it about a year or so and you'll see some amazing tricks with 3ds max and the u.d.k's physics.

  • geo mod 2.0 is the best destruction system out to this date

  • weak the wall doesn't crumble on it's own after initial impact. There is a point where a little thin arm would normally collapse but it defies gravity and continues to stand, supporting a huge chunk of wall. The physics are a little off.

  • if you want those kind of physics play RFG with a decent pc.

  • Why not a Xbox or a PS3?

  • DMM people all the way

  • doesnt look as good as the frostbite engine

  • @zackman40 I assume you are comparing it to Battlefield Bad Company? BC doesn't use DMM, it's scripted (fake) So when you destroy a building it exactly the same every single time. (Unless they have multiple animations)

  • Frostbite engine is awful. i looks like the wall just sisapeares in smoke. in this you can see every part off the wall flying around

  • in exact same chunks.....yeah.....still a long way to go.

  • they are called boxes:P

  • Fostbite engine is the best engine so far :D

  • @MrFrederiktorp

i have to disagree, the destruction in bfbc2 for example is good, but it's not in the same league, when you rpg a wall in bfbc2, it just vanishes, followed by a big cloud of dust.

    no way near as good.

you should check out the UT3 Lego map! that's funny!

  • lol, looks like its oozing out blood on that last pillar

  • unreal engine i see ?

  • Yeah, it to meny gibs!

  • Too many gibs! I bet they are all cube-point physics based too :V

  • My bad dessert, like I said in my personal message, the way I read it seemed like you were being sarcastic and trying to make me mad. So I apologize.

  • system specs??

  • This is already in a game. This is from Unreal Tournament 3 on the PC. Are all of you little teenagers that have no idea what Unreal Tournament is? Its a classic FPS/Arena Brawler.

Its been around since the 90s or even a bit earlier I think.

  • 98 noob.

  • I said in the 90s that means any year in the decade of 1990. So who is the true "noob" or even idiot here? my guess would be you.

  • yeah is the goty edition

  • If it makes you happy, there is a patch that enables PhysX for the game. My theory is that the game itself didn't have it initially.

  • Comment removed

  • o_O Okay, okay! I meant no offense.

I'm going to be more wary about you in the future.

  • "Are all of you little teenagers that have no idea what Unreal Tournament is?"

What the fuck does being a teenager have to do with this?

  • you know the basic hotshot attitude they throw insults like kid or virgin or hell knows what....

  • @punk9999643 well the game isn't that new....but it was pretty good back in the day !

  • @punk9999643

wouldn't teenagers be the ones who DO know what UT stands for??? the oldest person i have seen playing any UT games are the 19 year olds who just play it to laugh at the 15 year olds.

  • @punk9999643 Because most teenagers have been brainwashed with Call of Duty and Halo , and don't know about good game series' like Unreal Tournament

  • @InstantMix But their are still better shooters than Unreal Tournament.

  • @punk9999643 Yep , but it's a classic though. I'd have to say there are very few shooters better than UT99.

  • Comment removed

  • Is there any way to download that "game", or phisycal tester?

  • ..

friggin great, another cheezy really slow exploding wall, into obviously shaped triangle pieces. This couldn't look more unnatural :(

why can't they just make the pieces break bigger? and FALL FASTER! we aren't on the god damn moon, are we?

  • or each object move in a different way to the other piece , aswell as different sizes and shapes of the bricks.

  • if this gets into a game i will have no life :D

  • @axpo995 it actually is in game ;) Unreal Tournament 3 has it built it, you can turn it on in options

  • @Halapartna

Yeah but i meant like properly used, u know ;D

  • @axpo995 it's already in most new games that have destruction in them ;p

    and this one's UT3 :D

  • @pashaahsj

    Like? :O

I haven't really seen destruction like this in any game.

  • @axpo995 erm, Unreal Tournament 3 has PhysX Patch, download, and you'll get these features :)

Battle Field Bad Company 2 has this i THINK.... but i don't think it's physX, BC2 just has animations for fully fledged destruction...

Mafia 2 is THE BEST ONE OUT THERE WITH FULL PHYSX DESTRUCTION :)

and if you buy a powerfull PhysX card you get it with it :)

I will be getting it i HOPE cause i'm building a system with GTX 470 this october :)

Mirror's Edge is another one on those lines ! YOUTUBE IT !

  • @pashaahsj bfbc2 have HAVOK

  • @pashaahsj mafia has APEX physics, but its not good...the environment is not really destructive...BFBC2 is WAYY better in terms of destruction.

  • @unkowndrunkenfrankli oh ok well...

it's not like i've played any of the games after HALO :S...

i WILL when i make my pc this month :)

gonna get Mafia II for free with my GTX 470 :P

  • @axpo995 Get mafia II, and you won't have a life. Make sure to buy a nvidia card though. (i hate physx)

  • poor blocks

  • y so?

  • lol wtf

  • Awesome, really pushing the limits of that graphics card.

  • Can someone explain how to do that ?

  • nope

  • i think my 260gtx should handle this

  • you lag.XD,no offense but i lag more,i'm planning on a nvidia gts 250,good?

  • gts 250 is good.

  • not really.. 2 gtx 275 rockz everything
