What a noob fest. SERIOUSLY, MAN, WHY PUT THIS ON YOUTUBE!!!! You died when you were big, the second fight was NOT a fight, the first a noob-out. This is stupid.
I want Brawl to feel different from Melee. I used the Nunchuk scheme during Gamestop's midnight launch, and I liked it so much that I've decided to always use the Nunchuk for SSBB.
It is pretty annoying when someone tries to play a taunt party with you, and then two-times you near the end. I guess I have too many memories of a falcon punch coming out of nowhere...
Oh, and I was referring to the second match, in case you didn't already know.
And as for Captain Falcon shooting out multiple stars, that seems to be a unique characteristic for him. It causes the Star Rod to empty much quicker, though.
Yeah, I know which match you were referring to. It's the same player as Snake in the first match: You can see that he always went after Pikachu unless he had to defend himself. I have never seen anyone like this before, one who would trick other people so he could go and KO a helpless player.
Yeah, other people have told me about Captain Falcon's strange way to use the Star Rod. I should try it myself sometime.
There've been psychological studies of griefers done (there was a GamePro article about this where psychiatrists were brought in to try to explain). What they found was that nearly all griefers experienced some sort of domestic abuse earlier in life.
The theory is that these people bring other people downward while playing with other people (in any kind of team competition) because their parents never rewarded them for their accomplishments and were instead beaten for insubordination.
When I was younger, my mom practiced both rewarding accomplishments and harsh punishments for misbehaving. I guess that translated into a broad spectrum of personality traits.
Well, I'm always very curious to understand how narcissists, sadists, and psychopaths work, and it seems that parental abuse or neglect is nearly universal. John Wayne Gacy had an extremely homophobic father, for instance, who beat his wife and accused his son of being gay because he didn't beat women or have the same aggressive nature. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (the ones behind the Columbine school shooting) were raised in relative isolation with little parental concern of their activities.
I'm pretty sure my friend is borderline narcissistic. His ego matches his height (6' 7"), which is probably a result of both his towering height and the fact that his parents gave him virtually everything that he asked for as a child.
Sounds like something that's going to create a narcissist. I knew a narcissist in high school; the only reason he ever attended class was to show off, both on how rich he is and how well he can cheat on tests. I'll bet that he got expelled out of his university for cheating and/or plagiarism long ago.
Of course, I ran into people thinking they're God all the time in high school, and I'm still seeing it now on the internet.
Well, his case isn't quite as extreme as your example, since he knows when to be humble.
Personally, I never paid much attention to others in my classes in high school. (I'm a textbook example of an introvert, you see.) Although I've seen plenty of God complexes on the Internet.
It was something pretty unavoidable in my high school. Of course, I made the effort to talk to people I knew and that sort of stuff. It's a lot harder to do this in university, however, since there are a lot fewer people I can relate to.
A griefer is a person who plays an online game with the intention of sucking the fun out of it. Griefers do stuff like get in the way of other people, sabotaging their own teammates, ruining plans that need cooperation of other people, "player-killing," baiting powerful monsters to lure them into places with low-leveled players, glitching the game up for other people, and so forth.
Griefers play a game not to win, but to derive fun by taking it away from other people.
Your comment about some characters not suited for grabbing reminded me that you should specifically practice Ness' grab. His backthrow is an amazing kill move, and you can trap opponents (hopefully) just long enough in a PK fire to get them.
People wanted to know when I play these games, so I've been putting up the times that the matches start. There's no set schedule for when I play, really.
I don't know about if there's been any noticeable drop in quality, but every now and then, I fiddle with the picture settings to see if I can get as close as I can to what's being displayed on the TV. One of the things I did was turn the sharpness down to see what would happen.

Nicely done! I can't believe you dodged Zelda's Final Smash in the third match considering that you were at point-blank range. That was awesome. You were so close to winning that fourth match. You should have used DK's Down Smash when Zelda was near you. That move is killer. Oh, and I might add that was some nice sidestepping all of those Din's Fires. Way to go!
Shame for pikachu. I never really see anyone use him, except for myself as I main him. I haven't seen you use him much either Overhazard, as your random button seems to hate him.

M1:Yoshi is much better than people give him credit for. He just has a bad reputation from the previous games. Good playing from you overall. Loved the warlock punch double KO from the Ganon on big Snake/You.
M2: I've run into people like that. Total griefer, and as long as they win, they feel justified.
M3+4: Zelda and Ike are both defensive characters. They usually expect you walk into their attacks. Best advice I can give is to try to bait them and punish. Good job vs Din's Fire in the SD.
When you run into a Zelda or an Ike like that, remember that they they have a bit of time between attacks when they are vulnerable. For instance, at 10:29, if you would have used DK's B-air, you would have won the match.
Bait and punish is the name of the game when it comes to playing against a defensive style.
Good fights though: Acting slightly faster, grabbing, dodging, and even tilting. Your really starting to improve; Keep it up!
Then it's interesting that Yoshi's still placed in the bottom-most tiers while Mr. Game & Watch enjoyed what is possibly the highest leap in all of Smash Bros. I played a lot better as Mr. Game & Watch when I started using him online, and the same goes for Yoshi, though to a lesser extent.
It looks like I managed to get the drop on Zelda in Rumble Falls, but she took advantage of Ike's inability to move around to win the match. Din's Fire makes it very difficult to approach Zelda.
Yoshi still gets a lot of hate for his shield being weird (I don't think he can react out of his shield as fast as some characters can). Other than that however, Yoshi is definitely at least mid tier now. Yoshi is very good in the air too, and is rumored to be a (very) soft Metaknight counter. G&W is just awesome now =P.
It can make it hard yes, but after she lets the fire go, she can't do anything until about a half second after the explosion goes off. Gota try and get her in that opening.
According to the Smash Back Room's tier list, Yoshi is low tier. (Ranked #32, to be exact)
I absolutely despise Din's Fire spammers. If one is in your group, I suggest choosing Corneria and stay on opposite ends of the Great Fox. They can't get you there.
The SBR tier list only correct in most of its top and some of its high. The rest of it is inherently flawed, and no one from the SBR has stepped up and explained the tier positionings.
I take more stock in Silverflash-x's tier list than I do SBR's. At least Silver defends his positionings.
Din's Fire spammers are never to hard to deal with. You just have to be smart in your approach, Din's fire itself is fairly slow and preditcable.
It's easy to approach when Zelda spams Din's Fire. The problem is the other players that block the way! I always target Zeldas that do that and win, but the other players always knock me around and I can't get to Zelda without her getting the opportunity to hit me!
Haha, very true =P. Some people are oblivious to irritating move spammers. Have you tried using short hop or full hop approaches? If you try to space it so that the tip of your attack with catch the Zelda as your landing, it can be a good method of trying to interrupt her spam.
I would definitely suggest not approaching on the ground however, Your more likely to run into an F-smash on the ground, than her U-smash in the air.
You can see in the Sudden Death how much trouble I have getting close to Zelda while surrounded by Din's Fire though. The time it takes me to get out of the sidestep and proceed seems to be enough for her to start another one up.
Din's Fire is at its worst in Final Destination, where very little time is spent in the air and there's nothing to get in the way of Din's Fire.
Actually, the last time you jumped at her, you could have done either a B-air or an N-air and won. You flinched while coming down that last time when even if she went for a Din's Fire, it was going to miss you.
But you were doing a very good job, you got in there, and were on your way to victory till the bob-omb decided to drop in and greet you with an explosive hello.
I totally agree. FD is a projectile spammers dream stage. its harder to aim at people on platforms and keep yourself safe.
I'll bet a lot of Final Destinationers know this but pretend that it's fair. Captain Falcon is the only common non-projectile character I know of who has a large following of Final Destinationers.
It's hard for me to use aerial moves at someone on the ground. The target is always so tiny, and I overshoot every single time, even against Sandbag in the Online Practice Stage.
A lot of people claim that its the fairest stage. I personally like battlefield a thousand times more than I do FD (Pictochat and Luigi's Mansion are probably my favorites stages though).
It comes with practice, considering that different aerials have different start/end times, it can be tricky. The only thing I could suggest is practice hitting with Peach's crown slap, it's what helped teach me. Because its the only thing she can KO with reliably.
It's strange, as in Melee, I considered myself stronger in the air than on the ground, and even with poor jumpers, I spent more time in the air than on the ground. In Brawl, I'm most often grounded. I wonder if Final Destination has something to do with this though.
Short hopping never seems to work for me, not only because I'm bad at aiming for people, but because it takes time to get into the air that I get counterattacked often.
Air combat with the button lag is a bit part of what makes people more prone to the ground; as its a lot easier to connect attacks that way. FD and its lack of platforms doesn't help either.
The ideal time to short hop is when you are out of their attack range, which really comes with practice more than anything else (I say this way to often, but its the truth).
Skyworld is one of those stages I use to enjoy. Peach's horrible vertical recovery has gotten me into trouble on that stage.
Since Peach is much more effective in the air than she is on the ground; I've learned to use aerials a lot more than I would have any other character. Wario is much the same way, but he isn't as ineffective on the ground.
Skyworld definitely has a lot of those. My favorite stage for accidental KO's is Melee Jungle Japes. Not only is it an awesome stage for Peach, but a terrible stage for anyone who is slow in the air. Ike's, for instance, hate that stage.
You could always pick G&W and Oil Panic the Din's Fire. Or use Ness or Lucas and absorb it with PK Magnet. Or send an arrow her way as Pit. Or you could even use Samus and pester the Zelda with Homing missiles (Power missiles don't slow down so they are a danger when reflected.).
Generally I just try to keep in the Zelda's face to keep her from being an annoyance with Din's Fire spam. Din's Fire usually doesn't bug me though because you can see it come from far enough way to shield or dodge.
I think I have among my Favorites a video of Kirby exploiting Ikes (multiple ones) in Jungle Japes. It was pretty neat to see. When enough of these stages are chosen consecutively, they usually switch to another character.
I purposely chose Mr. Game & Watch in some of the FD matches to absorb Din's Fires with Oil Panic. As expected, she opened with tons of Din's Fires, but she knew to watch out with G&W--whenever the bucket appears, she'd run right up to G&W, igonring everyone, and attack him.
Kirbyciding works with an almost evil efficiency on Peach due to her poor vertical recovery ;_;.
3 caught Din's Fire's = Gaurenteed KO for whoever gets hit with your Oil Panic, even if they are at 0%. You just have to be in the rather large blast radius with the bucket out to catch. And if the Zelda decides to rush a Game and Watch; you can either introduce her to the turtle, pull out the matchstick, or D-tilt to knock her away.
Well, it's not so much as a suicide, but I guess it's more like transporation to a place on the stage Ike never wants to be at: Kirby swallows up Ike, then floats to the left until he spits Ike out. Kirby then makes his way back to the stage while Ike unsuccessfully tries to get back.
I couldn't use Oil Panic at all against this Zelda. This particular one seemed to understand matchups well, and I couldn't react in time. I should remember that Oil Panic can collect from behind too...
Well, even though its not exactly a suicide, anything that allows a character to control another, putting themselves at risk of killing themselves along with another player, I call a charactercide. Kirby can just about always make it back after depositing Peach low enough that she can't recover, yet I still call it a Kirbycide.
So can Lucas's PK Magnet, it looks like it doesn't cover both sides of him, but it does.
Okay then. What I've always defined as a suicide move is one that causes both player to go out of bounds and lose a stock or a point (or half their coins if you're playing a Coin match). What I had in mind as a "Kirbycide" is Kirby's "Pile Driver" throw, which I've seen people suicide with before.
Yeah, I learned about the PSI Magnet on Lucas one day just messing around. I was wondering what it would look like to interrupt Lucas from behind, only to see him turn around and absorb a Fireball.
Yeah, what I was talking about is when Kirby inhales you, jumps off the stage, and deposits you low enough to where you have trouble recovering. It's not exactly a very nice tactic, especially against those with poor recoveries.
Other 'cides are the Bowsercide, Waricide, Ganoncide, Donkeycide, and Diddycide. There may be a few more but those are the only ones I remember right now.
Yup, and Gaonon's side B maneuver (I forget whats it called, the one where he does a little dash, grabs, and chokes his opponent). When done in the air, he grabs and slams both himself and whoever he grabs either: down to the stage, or down to their deaths.
How is it possible to play a random online battle with people you know? The last time I played, it was free for all but they were all after me. One of them dropped out when I won a match.
This IS laggy. You just don't see it because you're not actually pushing the buttons. There isn't much slowdown, but it still takes a bit of time after pushing the button for something to happen.
very nice, n u dun need to reli focus on grabbing. u could maybe work on shield grabs, or wait for uropponents to use a "lag" move like lucas's up a for instance. newayz im pretty sure u know wut a shield grab, wait 4 opponent to attack then press a. hope this helps...

FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Someone already mentioned Falcon's weapon smash attacks.

Overhazard 3 years ago
Yoshi still gets a lot of hate for his shield being weird (I don't think he can react out of his shield as fast as some characters can). Other than that however, Yoshi is definitely at least mid tier now. Yoshi is very good in the air too, and is rumored to be a (very) soft Metaknight counter. G&W is just awesome now =P.
It can make it hard yes, but after she lets the fire go, she can't do anything until about a half second after the explosion goes off. Gota try and get her in that opening.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
According to the Smash Back Room's tier list, Yoshi is low tier. (Ranked #32, to be exact)
I absolutely despise Din's Fire spammers. If one is in your group, I suggest choosing Corneria and stay on opposite ends of the Great Fox. They can't get you there.
Caniki 3 years ago
dins fire is okay, if you know how to use it. its too much spam, same with sheiks special b.
zelda can be big spam its so annoying
talkingtoilet123 3 years ago
I personally believe him to be mid tier
The SBR tier list only correct in most of its top and some of its high. The rest of it is inherently flawed, and no one from the SBR has stepped up and explained the tier positionings.
I take more stock in Silverflash-x's tier list than I do SBR's. At least Silver defends his positionings.
Din's Fire spammers are never to hard to deal with. You just have to be smart in your approach, Din's fire itself is fairly slow and preditcable.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
It's easy to approach when Zelda spams Din's Fire. The problem is the other players that block the way! I always target Zeldas that do that and win, but the other players always knock me around and I can't get to Zelda without her getting the opportunity to hit me!
madaskueuchiha 3 years ago
Haha, very true =P. Some people are oblivious to irritating move spammers. Have you tried using short hop or full hop approaches? If you try to space it so that the tip of your attack with catch the Zelda as your landing, it can be a good method of trying to interrupt her spam.
I would definitely suggest not approaching on the ground however, Your more likely to run into an F-smash on the ground, than her U-smash in the air.
As Peach I generally just toss a turnip at her.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
You can see in the Sudden Death how much trouble I have getting close to Zelda while surrounded by Din's Fire though. The time it takes me to get out of the sidestep and proceed seems to be enough for her to start another one up.
Din's Fire is at its worst in Final Destination, where very little time is spent in the air and there's nothing to get in the way of Din's Fire.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Actually, the last time you jumped at her, you could have done either a B-air or an N-air and won. You flinched while coming down that last time when even if she went for a Din's Fire, it was going to miss you.
But you were doing a very good job, you got in there, and were on your way to victory till the bob-omb decided to drop in and greet you with an explosive hello.
I totally agree. FD is a projectile spammers dream stage. its harder to aim at people on platforms and keep yourself safe.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
I'll bet a lot of Final Destinationers know this but pretend that it's fair. Captain Falcon is the only common non-projectile character I know of who has a large following of Final Destinationers.
It's hard for me to use aerial moves at someone on the ground. The target is always so tiny, and I overshoot every single time, even against Sandbag in the Online Practice Stage.
Overhazard 3 years ago
A lot of people claim that its the fairest stage. I personally like battlefield a thousand times more than I do FD (Pictochat and Luigi's Mansion are probably my favorites stages though).
It comes with practice, considering that different aerials have different start/end times, it can be tricky. The only thing I could suggest is practice hitting with Peach's crown slap, it's what helped teach me. Because its the only thing she can KO with reliably.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
It's strange, as in Melee, I considered myself stronger in the air than on the ground, and even with poor jumpers, I spent more time in the air than on the ground. In Brawl, I'm most often grounded. I wonder if Final Destination has something to do with this though.
Short hopping never seems to work for me, not only because I'm bad at aiming for people, but because it takes time to get into the air that I get counterattacked often.

Why Does Nobody Like Hanenbow, Delfino Plaza or Green Greens?
PS: You haven't played much Hanenbow recently.
torngentleman2 3 years ago
I do. You have a match on Green Greens right in this video. I also have a bunch from Hanenbow and Delfino Plaza.
I always try to pick stages I haven't played in much...and I found out Skyworld is one of them.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Air combat with the button lag is a bit part of what makes people more prone to the ground; as its a lot easier to connect attacks that way. FD and its lack of platforms doesn't help either.
The ideal time to short hop is when you are out of their attack range, which really comes with practice more than anything else (I say this way to often, but its the truth).
Skyworld is one of those stages I use to enjoy. Peach's horrible vertical recovery has gotten me into trouble on that stage.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Of course, in vertically oriented stages, like Rumble Falls and Hanenbow (and some forms of PictoChat), the large quantity of my attacks are aerial.
I like Skyworld because there are a lot of accidental KOs, and when there aren't, it's very hard to knock anybody out until the platforms give way.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Since Peach is much more effective in the air than she is on the ground; I've learned to use aerials a lot more than I would have any other character. Wario is much the same way, but he isn't as ineffective on the ground.
Skyworld definitely has a lot of those. My favorite stage for accidental KO's is Melee Jungle Japes. Not only is it an awesome stage for Peach, but a terrible stage for anyone who is slow in the air. Ike's, for instance, hate that stage.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Yeah, projectiles really work. It's just horrible because the Zeldas just start spamming again :(
madaskueuchiha 3 years ago
You could always pick G&W and Oil Panic the Din's Fire. Or use Ness or Lucas and absorb it with PK Magnet. Or send an arrow her way as Pit. Or you could even use Samus and pester the Zelda with Homing missiles (Power missiles don't slow down so they are a danger when reflected.).
Generally I just try to keep in the Zelda's face to keep her from being an annoyance with Din's Fire spam. Din's Fire usually doesn't bug me though because you can see it come from far enough way to shield or dodge.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
I think I have among my Favorites a video of Kirby exploiting Ikes (multiple ones) in Jungle Japes. It was pretty neat to see. When enough of these stages are chosen consecutively, they usually switch to another character.
I purposely chose Mr. Game & Watch in some of the FD matches to absorb Din's Fires with Oil Panic. As expected, she opened with tons of Din's Fires, but she knew to watch out with G&W--whenever the bucket appears, she'd run right up to G&W, igonring everyone, and attack him.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Kirbyciding works with an almost evil efficiency on Peach due to her poor vertical recovery ;_;.
3 caught Din's Fire's = Gaurenteed KO for whoever gets hit with your Oil Panic, even if they are at 0%. You just have to be in the rather large blast radius with the bucket out to catch. And if the Zelda decides to rush a Game and Watch; you can either introduce her to the turtle, pull out the matchstick, or D-tilt to knock her away.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Well, it's not so much as a suicide, but I guess it's more like transporation to a place on the stage Ike never wants to be at: Kirby swallows up Ike, then floats to the left until he spits Ike out. Kirby then makes his way back to the stage while Ike unsuccessfully tries to get back.
I couldn't use Oil Panic at all against this Zelda. This particular one seemed to understand matchups well, and I couldn't react in time. I should remember that Oil Panic can collect from behind too...
Overhazard 3 years ago
Well, even though its not exactly a suicide, anything that allows a character to control another, putting themselves at risk of killing themselves along with another player, I call a charactercide. Kirby can just about always make it back after depositing Peach low enough that she can't recover, yet I still call it a Kirbycide.
So can Lucas's PK Magnet, it looks like it doesn't cover both sides of him, but it does.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yeah, what I was talking about is when Kirby inhales you, jumps off the stage, and deposits you low enough to where you have trouble recovering. It's not exactly a very nice tactic, especially against those with poor recoveries.
Other 'cides are the Bowsercide, Waricide, Ganoncide, Donkeycide, and Diddycide. There may be a few more but those are the only ones I remember right now.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Let me guess.
Bowser uses his side special (forgot the name).
Wario uses the Bite attack.
Donkey Kong picks up the opponent and walks off.
Diddy uses the face-humping move.
I can't think of how Ganondorf can do a suicide.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yup, and Gaonon's side B maneuver (I forget whats it called, the one where he does a little dash, grabs, and chokes his opponent). When done in the air, he grabs and slams both himself and whoever he grabs either: down to the stage, or down to their deaths.
FinalDamnation 3 years ago
Oh, I didn't know that's how it works. Thanks for telling me that; it'll give me a way of grounding people who like to be in the air all the time.
Overhazard 3 years ago
How is it possible to play a random online battle with people you know? The last time I played, it was free for all but they were all after me. One of them dropped out when I won a match.
zabeon 3 years ago
Short answer: You don't. People drop out all the time. You just happened to be matched with people who preferred to ally with each other.
Of course, if there are multiple people playing on the same Wii, they could go online and get hybrid local/online matches.

How DO you hover with peach?
(I know you can hold c when in the air, but how do you do it on the ground or after doing a small jump?)
bcychster 3 years ago
You hold down on the control stick and hit X or Y. That's an auto float.
CDub7888 3 years ago
I'm using the wiimote w/ nunchuk

Then you just hold down on the nunchuk and press whatever button jumps (not sure what it is since I use the GC controller).

Captain Falcon always shoots four stars with the Star Rod. It's because he has a special Forward Smash. So does Sheik.
GeneralSecura 3 years ago
Oh, okay then. So I guess he and Sheik would have the advantage over other people with the Star Rod.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yeah, pretty much. But still, the Star Rod's projectiles aren't exceptionally powerful, so it's not that big of a deal.
GeneralSecura 3 years ago
This is lag-free! Man, your are so lucky...
TemaShika24 3 years ago
yeah very lucky i always end up with loads of lag or people causing lag
sonicyoshi5 3 years ago
This IS laggy. You just don't see it because you're not actually pushing the buttons. There isn't much slowdown, but it still takes a bit of time after pushing the button for something to happen.
Overhazard 3 years ago
I can never get Din's Fire right when lag is apparent.
TemaShika24 3 years ago
Yeah, which is all the more impressive given how accurate this Zelda player was with those Din's Fires.
