Please check out my cinematic depiction of the Spirits of the Dead written by Edgar Allan Poe. I recently shot this short film about a man walking into a church and reading this macabre poem. Just click on my name and it will bring you right to it.
I listened it all while I was cooking dinner (I like to listen audio books in the kitchen). I've been listening to Chronicles of Mars and one death in "Usher II" was based on this, so it was good to hear the original story.
As the bus approached the crest of the hill I observed with horror that the ride would only last for two more minutes. Gazing upon the progress bar the dreadful realisation slowly dawned on me: the story was to last for another five. My spirit sank into a despondency from which I felt there would be no reprieve until, at last, a thought insinuated itself upon me, at first almost imperceptibly, but soon demanding my full attention. And so it was that I got off one stop earlier and walked ...
@rozeboosje It's official, listening to great works of fiction is good for your health - you probably burned off at least... five extra calories by getting off one stop earlier! I'll try to keep it at around the 37-minute mark for any future stories :o)
@naughtypagan72 Well wouldn't you know, that is actually on my very-short-list of 'poems to do'. I might just give it a try sometime soon. Thanks for reminding me!
Many thanks for this great reading of an equally great tale.

well done I loved it. I could visualize in my head the environment. Gives me a feeling of courage and despair

I listened to it all, amazing stuff these videos you are making, Gisburne.
I have known for a long time about Poe and Lovecraft, among others, but only now, thanks to you that I have had the ability to appreciate them.
Thanks a lot for reading these, Nick, we all appreciate them.

This is my second-favorite Poe short story. Thank you, 1,000 times. For the love of God, Montresor! (still my favorite)
