@maxdura007 Battle drop compensator. Its the little hash marks on a turret. The thing that makes a BDC different than the factory hash marks on a scope, is that a BDC is calibrated to YOUR rifle, with YOUR zero. Consider this, you shoot in wind, or shoot in a different area, with higher elevation, temperature, etc. As you are shooting you find you need to make many minor adjustments. To make those adjustments you must first return to your original zero.
@ELITEHAMSTER123 i know what it is. was just pokin at the guy in the vid who had to ask. myself, i prefer a mil type reticle, such as a mil dot, mlr reticle from nightforce, or the razor ebr-2. bdc reticles imho, are junk. only work with one load, in one kinda condition. get a mil reticle, learn how to use it. and get a scope with some sort of zero stop. oh, what is a dattle drop comp? you mean a ballistic drop compensator right?
However, you may not know how many times you rotated the turret, or forgot the settings zero was on. The BDC counts the clicks, and allows you to return to zero quickly, and most importantly, accurately.
@ajsk8r99 that's just as dangerous. most people don't keep their finger straight until they are ready to fire and that increases the chance of an accidental discharge which would be pointed down and cause fragmentation that could hit someone. Or it hits someone's foot.
i think the video title is wrong for this type of video.. it should be more like how to do compeition shooting or compeition shooting tips or what ever. not how to shoot long range rifle
Sorry mate but from what I know long range shooting starts from 600m. I like your vid because you are talking metric. Any desent rifle can shoot out well beyond 200m. This is the problem with most hunters. They will only take shots at a stones throw. Good luck and happy hunting.
I don't mean that the sights have to be perfectly still on the target. Approach shooting (firing as the reticle moves to the center of the target) is fine BUT requires a good deal of trigger control. What I was trying to articulate is that the shooter must get an acceptable sight picture for the level of target difficulty presented and should not just blaze away. Typically for me I like to see the sight just "settle" before firing. FOR ME it is more reliable than the approach technique.
when he says shoot at six o clock is that AM or PM because that is too early to be shooting

ipod app, not iphone, right? and what ipods are capable of getting the app?
nagrone87 2 years ago
Kel has a 2d gen iPod Touch - the calculator doesn't need wifi to work (not much wifi at the range . . .)
I guess any iPod Touch 2d gen and newer should be fine. . .

it's called "iSnipe" and it's about $5 - I think it's based off some of the sophisticated ballistic calculators the Army uses. . .

At 8:30 do you literally mean you wait until your sights are settled (as much as it can be)? Or do you approach shoot the targets?
