Hardcore is not metal. Hardcore stems from punk (thus "hardcore punk). Metal is a completely different genre. Go listen to original hardcore bands like Black Flag and tell me that's metal without sounding like a dumbass - it's impossible.

Right, but they're hardcore punk ("hardcore" was originally a subgenre of punk, but has evolved a lot - STYG is proof of that). Black Flag was among the first wave of hardcore bands, alongside Bad Brains for example.

Hardcore? This isn't really hardcore...I'd consider this more metalcore, honestly. To me, Hardcore = has some clean vocals and metalcore = straight up screaming. I don't know, but that's what it seems like to me.
