  • You have got some really good stuff Oolong. I was one year out of Anadarko High School in '67. Wasn't even aware of Bob Kalsu until this video and I attended OU in '75. Ah-ho(thank you)

  • I liked the "watch this blow up" part, and the pic at 2:00

  • Very Touching. Thanks.

  • i know ive comment before on this video but wanted to again. its soo powerful

  • thanx again.

  • I was a Marine that surved in Iraq from june-november 2004, and recieved a purple heart during the battle for fallujah. I just wanted you to know that I also felt the people in that country were great, and the Iraqi men i fought shoulder to shoulder with in that city were as brave as any. Thank you for this video, if I wasn't wounded I would have loved to go back to help those people gain there freedom and be out of the grip of poeple that are in that country to hurt them. Hoowah Army Dog!

  • @Hobbes0331 wrote you an email. sorry it took so long to comment back, but i didn't check this while i was overseas. Thank you so much for your service and for the respect you have for these people.

  • 23 yrs

  • nono i dont hate you i hate iraggi police and gorge bush

  • how old are you?

  • m p

  • 100000 iraggi killed why not

  • i understand. i am sorry, i don't think we will actually come to understand each other on this. our own people is our own responsibility. however, i was pleased to meet people that were happy to be free from the regime. their families had been killed or tortured. it's war though, it sucks for all of us.

  • i have not ever killed anyone. do you hate me for helping the police?

  • your army killed my father

  • why why why

  • why not?

  • why you in army

  • they offered me a career that gave me the ability to give something back to my family and country. i believe in what i do. i really loved what i did in iraq working w/ IPs

  • Thanks for sharing. Beautiful pics.

  • thank you for watching. i had fun taking that footage. :-)

  • did you catch the part in the information section where this was about love for one another and this wasn't about politics? so kindly i will remove your comment. best wishes.

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • thank you for appreciating this.

  • I'm back because I still love this video. Thanks again.

  • thank you.

  • Good video very nice photos good job building those jugs nice dress lmao

  • thank you. yeah that was pretty fun. i was happy that my bra could fit melons in them... literally

  • I was just curious as to your role in Iraq?..

  • training iraqi police and assessing iraqi police stations.

  • M.P's or civilian?..

  • i was an mp. the iraqies were civilian police.

  • That was beautiful, and thank you so very much for your service.

As a Vet myself, it feels good to see affirmation that the torch was passed into capable hands.

    Stay safe

  • I am absolutely honored, ant thank you for your service as well.

  • Thank You for Your service. Thank You for letting us sleep soundly at night as you risk everything. Thank You.

  • thank you for your support. it is deeply appreciated.

  • first: I have never been in a war, so I can't and won't judge you.

but please let me ask a question:

You speak so much of yourself, but what about the IRAQI people? do you have personal contact with them? or to be more exact, not with "them" (as a collective) but with Jack and Jill and Tammy (or Mahmud, Aisha and whatever their names are)? not officially, but as a human being? did you try and learn their language? do you think about what this American war has done to THEM?

  • read the information area if you wish.

  • I READ it, that's exactly why I ask.

  • then i may have failed to communicate. this video wasn't about the politics or if we should have been there or not, and i think that was clear. this was about how very much i loved the people i worked with... the iraqi people.

  • then I must apologize. I had read all the things you wrote about "them" as if you were talking only about your American comrades.

I feel respect for you now.

  • thank you. i had come to admire many of the iraqi people in this video, the graduating police had so much pride in their accomplishment, and i was proud to have contributed. they really did touch my heart. the old lady, the guy w/ a mustache and the child in the end i will never ever forget. there was a lady who i don't have a photo, she's iranian, but she gave me prayer beads that are in my jeep. the remind me of selfless love every day. thanx again.

  • i can see how you took it that way.

  • English is not my first language (I'm german) so there is always a "gap of understanding", so to speak. But I try to learn.

  • Nice job..thanks

  • thank you very much.

  • It's been a long time since I was there..27years.....still love it.

  • very kewl.

  • I hate you... u nearly made me cry with this video errrrgg =D great video btw =D

  • thank you. I have never been given a complement quite like that.

  • Well done video!

  • thank you very much.

  • this video was not intended to foot a political discussion which was pointed out in the information section. it was created with a deep felt sense of humanity, and a love for the people both american and iraqi. please do not start a conflict on video. respectfully i am removing your comment for this reason.

  • that woman invited me to take it, and the video is named after her. i love these people in this video. good day.

  • thank you.

  • you did such a fantastic job on this video. it was really moving. its incredible how far you've come. i hate to simply agree with something chris said but he was right. when i first saw your entry for the gvc i had no idea what kind of videos you were capable of producing. i feel like the gvc is something that will always connect us all. btw *F*I*V*E*

  • thank you. that's very nice. i agree about gvc. BigHug4U

  • Wow..I can't imagine what it must have been like there for you. I think its a great thing that you made this video. It gives us who haven't had to be in your shoes the chance to see it through your eyes and not through the subjective biased eyes of those on either side of the "debate" : )

  • thank you. that was really nice.

  • mysti mayhems voice is amazing wow

  • Yes she does.

  • even people that disagree with the war should have respect for those who serve

I have two cousin's one was in irag

    anyway really good video

  • i understand both sides of the debate. i just hoped to make a positive impact in what i was doing there, cause i had not control over the rest.

    thank you.

  • thank you. i will try to keep it up.

  • Thank you for sharing this video. And thank you, period.

  • thank you

  • I am sincerely grateful that you shared this video with us.

  • thank you ♥

  • This is one of the most personally moving representations of how lives are touched by such an experience. Thank you very, very much for sharing it.

It is exquisitely well done, and the use of the music truly inspired. Mysti sent me the link, so I know she's proud to have been associated with this.

  • I am really glad for that. Before I did it, I told her what I was up to because I wanted her to be on board. She is very talented and seems to be a really good gal!

  • I was a senior in HS 9/11/2001- half my class enlisted. We've lost one and it's still so hard to believe. Thank God others came home safe and thank you and all the rest for being so brave.

  • At that time I was in Germany. That day everything changed. The Germans would place candles and flowers along the barricades at our gates 'til the pile was so big that it looked like a shrine.

thank you for sharing that. it is hard knowing people that didn't come back. i am blessed there too, some have lost a lot more friends.

  • You made me cry just now.

  • the little boy i was holding and at the end and the old lady makes me cry.

  • I was surprised to learn this music is Mysti. I've been watching her regular blogtv show with her ensemble spellbox, but I've never heard her sing quite like this, and the layered voice threw me off a bit. spellbox is a terrific talent, and they have a lot to offer. I'm glad she's getting her music into youtube videos now. I believe that process kickstarted when she posted a video on Vloggerheads regarding her career. Jipsi pushed her into blogtv, and he & others are trying to help her progress.

  • BTW, for those unfamiliar with the music, it is from Mysti's recent CD, Diversity.

  • i am rooting for her.

  • The overall experience over there are as varied as the people that go. Nice work in capturing yours. I'm sorry for those who don't have the photos/videos to do the same. It can be some good therapy.

  • Thanx babe. I love you.

  • wow. Spectacular. Thank you for your service.

  • thanks, couldn't decide to actually do this.

  • HOLY SHIT! This is REALLY good!!

  • thank you!

  • Very masterfully put together. I'm sure it was very emotional work for you. It was quite emotional for me to watch. I'm very glad you decided to do it.

  • It's OK Mom.

    Thank yoi

  • i meant you. ;-)

  • There are no words that I can express for the emotions that this video stirred in my heart. So touching, so real and personal.

I would love to post this on our Veterans blog. I'll contact you via email.

  • Thank you. I will write.

  • the comments you requested are in the information area. thank you.

  • I will use those. Thanks! =)

  • I was so taken by the video that I didn't see them. LOL!!!

  • Wow this is so sad, I love your work.

  • Don't be sad. There are some great people over there.

    Thank you.

  • susan this should be featured, not only on youtube, but EVERYWHERE. amazing work.....CHILLS.

  • I don't know what to say.

  • OK. This is my second comment on this video. I have watched this a number of times already...and I'm very impressed. The images are really powerful and the music choice is outstanding. There's a lot of humanity woven between the sad and funny elements.

  • I guess that's how it was at times.

  • I'm proud of you sweetie.

    Luv ya.

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you very much for your service Susan:-)

  • Thank you for yours.

  • Wow. That was powerful. I'm not even gonna try to compete with that in the contest. You better win.

  • I almost didn't upload this.

  • Wow. Thanks.

  • I think we can.

  • This must have been in your heart for a long time, waiting to come out. It is one of the best things I've seen on YT in a year!

  • Blushing.

  • Truth.

  • I had to watch that twice to catch it all. Did you take most of the pics? The one with the sunset and barbwire was cool. And the kids...

Can you tell us more about Rock?

    BTW, Nice Jugs!!

  • Rock was nutz but he was a good guy. I don't remember what province he was from. He was killed in 05. He would be happy if he made people laugh. He broke his leg that day on the ramp.

  • Thanx about the jugs. They were made from melons.

I took all the photos and video that did not have me in it.

  • Five Stars!!

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing this...must have been hard putting it together...but it turned out beautiful
