Yes but there are drawbacks. The most obvious is you can't play online but the worst is any game saves and achievements you got after the ban will be corrupt on an unbanned console. My advice is if you ever plan to get another xbox for live than don't play games you care about.

I know how you fell, i got banned the same date as you, it was definately something to do with downloading that cod 5 beta, apparently they scanned through all the xbox 360's for modded consoles, but guess what mine isn't modded. So once again heres another way of microsoft ripping people off, to make more money.

you dont get a new xbox 360 fellas, they ban your ip address. so even if you get a new 360 you still cant log in. ive had my 360 modded for 2 years and have never got banned. lol

They ban your console not your IP. Ive had my xbox banned and can still play on the same IP with my other xbox, the same goes for all the other ones i get coming in.

my bad they do ban your console, along with your ip address, all you need to do is repair the ip address and buy a new console, switch out the hard drive and then return it back to wherever you bought it from for a refund

Still wrong :) Yes they ban your console but they dont ban your IP. All you need to do is buy a new console and switch the hard drives. You dont need to do anything to your IP address.

It certainly is possible to ban your IP address, i would amagine it would only be done in extreme cases. Cause then microsoft cant get you to buy another console :)

Only way to unban you, is to get a new xbox, and play with your new xbox, and recover the gamertag.

Im banned too, dont worry though guys im sure theres some hackers out there working on an unban hack. I heard someone managed to unban themselves by etracting the eeprom from another console an putting it in his, but you have to have the infectus mod chip to do that.
