  • Thank you ! I enjoy watching my lovely little Robin :-)

  • NIGHTINGALE IN AMSTERDAM - СЛАВУЈ У АМСТЕРДАМУ

  • right now im taking care of a baby robin. some idiots knocked down a really big nest full of baby robins and baby quakers and my mom managed to get a baby robin to take care of. right now im trying to cheer it up with bird sounds. my moms mother in law managed to get a baby quaker. right now i dont really know what type of robin it is but im taking care of it while my moms at work

  • ....am I the only one tempted to go to some morse code translator?

  • My mom used to sing me this song when I was a baby

  • There are a multitude of beautiful birds in the world, but the tiny English robin red breast will always be my favorite. Thanks for posting.

  • Yes the Robin is lovely little Bird... and has been looking for worms from my garden digging today :-)

  • This is the Robin's alarm call. Tick Tick sick sick.

  • I grew up in Canada, and when some of my dad's friends from the UK came to visit, I pointed out a robin at them. They were totally amazed, and said it was like no other robin they'd ever seen! I didn't understand, until we visited them in England and they pointed out a British robin. They are sooo much tinier than the North American ones, and I think much cuter and sweeter!

  • I saw the first robin of the year, in January. Ours are a little different than in UK.

  • How lovely to capture the bird and its song!

  • Thank you ButterflySpirit ~ I was surprised this Robin was sing in the rain !

  • This is the real Robin The English Robin, not the one we call Robin in Canada. There are many birds with the same name that look totally different in plumage color depending on the regions that that habitat.

  • Yes true this is the original Robin... :-)

  • Robins always seem to make that cheep-cheep-cheep sound in the autumn months. The song is so evocative to the time of year when the nights start drawing in.

  • what a beautiful video.thanks for taking the time to share.

  • I think it has turrets

  • So cute! :D

  • its funny how he randomly moves everytime he chirps

  • Aren't birds the most beautiful creatures? including what each of them symbolise.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi @azby19281 ~ Yes Birds are beautiful creatures they always cheer us all :-)

  • @simbirdcom Oh yes they cheer me up all the time and they are beautiful 'wild' creatures. The only real and free wildlife most people can experience day to day.

  • sweeeet, i got a pair nesting in my back garden feeding their young every couple ok minutes, always stops just befor entering the nest with a beak full of insects, just to make sure the coast is clear!

  • Thank you @catchy1986 ~ I also had a Robin nesting in my garden... must upload the video of the Robin on the eggs :-)

  • That robin is not singing!

  • Ha reminds me of william shatner! Great voice though Sir Robin. Or Madam Robin.

  • so adorable!

  • Thank you @sladurska ~ Robins are cute :-)

  • BATMAN AAAAAAAND

  • @Melkiyad ...ROBIN LOL :-)

  • @simbirdcom ;D

  • i wish i was a robin

  • ...and me too ! :-)

  • how come your robin is cuter and brighter than my robin here in evanston, illinois?

  • Hi Labtechbaby ~ The European / UK Robin is the original Robin but from wiki ~ "The term Robin is also applied to some birds in other families with red or orange breasts. These include the American Robin (Turdus migratorius), which is a thrush..." And hope you can video some more of your American Robins and birds :-)

  • such a cute bird

  • Yes @Jophie12 ~ The Robin is a very cute bird with a great character too ! :-)

  • dolcissimo.meraviglioso.spettacolare. è di un'eleganza nel movimento e nei colori che supera noi umani.

  • *Rubecula* is derived from the Latin ruber 'red' named Motacilla Rubecula by Linnaeus in the 18th century... The genus *Erithacus* was created by French naturalist Georges Cuvier in 1800, assigned to a group of thrush-like true flycatchers

  • we have alots of thse bird in afghanistan.

  • @19sharif19 European Robins don't exist in afghanistan.

  • @hstadam94 wtf

  • Thank you for posting comments on Erithacus Rubecula... I'm not sure what it means in latin ?

  • What a beautiful bird ! Very lovely footage !

Thank you so much for posting .

  • Oh, The Lovley-ness Of Nature <3

  • a guy that i know sendt me a text message and called me Erithacus Rubecula. I just wonder what it exactly means..? :P

  • Forget the calling! This Robin's cute LoL. There's a Robin in my back garden and he always waits for his morning bread. Most surprisingly, he waits for it just outside the window! Nature is no doubt a mans best friend.

  • @Brummy010 that's not a robin

  • @skiwi2 Yes it is a Robin, our native British Robins are different to North American Robins.

  • @Brummy010 Thank you ~ yes I agree Nature is mans best friend :-)

  • Lovely bird. I have one that follows me around the garden where I,ve been working for a feed on the over turned soil.

  • Me too! Great isn't it.

  • Interesting European Robin. Quite different from the American Robin that are abundant around my area. Pretty little bird!

  • Not to be pedantic, but I would class this as the Robin's warning call, not it's song. Robin's songs are beautiful, but the ticking sounds are warnings...at least, that's what I thought?

  • @Clairenna you're totally right. This is the warning call. You can also see the stressed movements en look coming with it.

  • Really beautiful little, and its calls are very interesting....

  • Great video. Thanks for posting.

  • I wonder what the commotion was about?

  • My cat *Willow* maybe or other Robin ?

  • thats funny every time it twitters it bobs up and down up and down lol sooooooooooooo cute 5|5

  • @loco864999 Thank you :-) Yes I've noticed lots of birds bob up and down, but not sure why ?

  • @simbirdcom ^^

  • There is a flower shop i know, sort of on a farm. and they have a liitle Robin visit them everyday. He comes into the shop and they feed him. I couldn't beleive my eyes when i walked right pass this tiny beautiful little bird, in the shop! they are my favourite bird!

  • They are great little birds Sarah :-)

  • i am planing to buy the same cam, i was not knowing even in video we can take the blur background, nice shot u did, cool video.

  • Robins are angels on earth!

  • Yes TRUE :-)

  • 5 *

  • Thank you ;-)

  • Doesnt mind the rain ,sings! :)

  • cue the song: All by myself- Eric Carmen

Actually, that would have been perfect for this video. =]

  • I use a canon S3 IS & like your robin vid these cameras have incredible sound pick-up ( hence traffic noise ) but the movie quality is also excellent. By coincidence I rescued a baby robin a few weeks ago, late nest which was abandoned, very sad but this little chap made it. I released him/her 3 weeks ago but pops into the conservatory everyday for food. See 'Twidders 1' 2,3 & 4 on youtube. Your robin is declaring his territory by the way with sharp clicks, their song is melodic. Good capture

  • just singing in the rain

  • This video is great! One time I was photographing a taint with my Canon s5, and the balls kept getting in the way.

  • Well like everyone else - great quality!! It's not often that you get the chance to capture a bird in the 'open' - they tend to be in the trees or behind something so often!! Great stuff!

  • nothing like it out there

  • Very nice!!

  • to think the videos uploaded to youtube will be compressed to lower quality and am sure that the original video is much clearer with this one. Nice! gotta have one of that semi pro S5 IS...whew!

  • Nice video.. i just buy a Canon S5 IS as well... i want to know if you film this bird with our without digital zoom?

  • Hi all... Thank you all for your nice comments :-)

I think I did use some digital zoom ~ but it is the optical teleconverter which helps best ;-)

    Simon :-)

  • youtube with class. finally. Really good taste.

I just buy a s5 IS and you inspire me.

    thanks from chile.

  • Hi Thank you for the nice comments :-)

I use a Digital Canon S5 camera which can zoom in to the equivalent of 400mm (old 35mm film camera) But I bought the telephoto extension 1.5x which takes it up to 600mm ~ my tip is to get as close as you can either by a telephoto lens or even better reduce your distance by half or closer to the Bird ~ either by using a hide like a shed (with hole/flap) or make your own camo hide with army/surplus supplies ! or even remote shutter too ?

    Simon :-)

  • hmm i inteded to give it a 5 star but i think it clicked at 3 star..

  • Excellent close up. The quality is brilliant, mine tend to lose a fair bit of quality in the upload. Any tips?

  • My tip is to put the camera in macro witch focuses for a video of closeup vids or stills. Or go into manual focus and you can focus on the object by yourself.

  • He seems so excited, lovely. Great definition, thanks!
