It doesn't weigh an object. It uses the shift of balance due to the objects mass, derives the angle in which the Iphone shifts relative to the balancing point, and gives an estimated calculation of how much the object weighs. Probably not accurate, but just wanted to highlight that obviously the touch screen doesn't measure weight.

@MrProperkidd Are you mad? This uses the accelerometer to calculate the force acting upon it. If it's put on a flat surface and you put the coin, it won't move at all and will just show 0.0g.

okay, look. you're supposed to balance it on your finger and then zero out the scale. using basic physics, the degree to which the iphone tilts after adding the object can be converted to mass. it's essentially a balance scale, with the counter balance being the upper half of the iphone. it's actually a clever design.

The screen aint preassure-sensitive but using the Accelerometer and if you hold your finger "perfect" at the line it is very possible just depending on hte Accelerometers sensitivity. That is a "physics formula" that we are learning in school, quite hard but real!

It's nothing to do with pressure sensors, if it was you wouldn't need to balance it on your finger.

i believe it measures the weight by measuring the moments generated. iphone n itouch do have these thingys which i do not know what they r called. this app probably measures how much ur itouch/iphone was tilted due to the object u placed in the box. Moment=ForceXDistance  hahaha
