  • RIPPIOFF!! you could have gotten at least 2000 man!

  • nope, I could not have gotten 2000. And since I didn't pay jack for them, I didn't feel like ripping anyone off. If you would like to pay 2000 for it, I can email the gentleman I sold it too!

  • Sorry, i use wood drums. I record.

  • @zeppelin511 Too bad, I have heard plenty of acrylic drums recorded that sound great. You just have to use something better than cs dots.

  • @Acrylicdrums i record on a vintage vistalite. i use powerstroke 3 heads with foam rings under the heads. sound is real deep and no overtoning at all. took a while to figure out the best way to get them to sound good though. lot of trial & error and wasted money!!

  • @chrisGTO66 PS/3 would work well! I am using aquarian super-2 coated with a dab of moongel. I am getting an amazing deep, round tone. I have both vintage vistas and new RCI. Both sound great with these heads. I found the emad too plasticky on the kick, so I went with superkick 2 and a kickport.

  • @Acrylicdrums How do the RCIs sound as apposed to the vistalites? I've never heard them. Do u like them? How much r they? Also, what difference did U notice when U added the Kickport? that's another thing I've been thinking about doing. I keep both heads on my bass drums very tight for the added spring back on the beater and reverberation. The foam makes the bass drums muffled, so the tighter the head, the more the sound bounces around in there. U think I should add kickports?

  • @chrisGTO66 I hate solid resos...too much kickback from the beater. The kickport doesn't just vent, it reinforces lower frequencies. The feel is great, and out in front of the kit you can tell it's stronger sounding with the kickport. The RCI's have a continual 45 degree bearing edge (the 76 vistas have a roller coaster edge) and the rci's are fatter and crisper all at once with a cleaner tone.

  • @Acrylicdrums i think i'm gonna buy 2 of those custom reso heads with a picture on them and put kick ports in them. i dont wanna put them in my ludwig heads cause they are original to the set and in mint condition.

  • @chrisGTO66 Yeah, it's best to make changes to stuff that can be reversed to stock condition--or won't change them in the 1st place. All the changes I made to my kit can be swapped in minutes to the original hardware.

  • @Acrylicdrums Once I finish setting up my set on this new cage I just got, I'll post U a short solo so u can hear the way they sound. The cage is not what I expected. It's difficult to figure out how to mount Vistalites. The mount lug openings are too small for most mounts sold today. I've been making my own stuff out of gibraltar mounts and old ludwig stuff i find on ebay. Good thing I work in a body shop!

  • heads on the toms. looks like Controlled sound?

  • sold it for around 700, without the cymbals, which I kept.

  • how much does that drum set that you have cost???
