I work at a doggie daycare and have for almost a year now. The pits are the best! My favorite dog is a male pit who whines like a sad child when he sees his older brother (Shih tzu) in the small dog room. Pits bond completely with family pack members. I actually dread going into the big room because of Labs! Labs are our most aggressive dogs there. One lab attacked my pit, and my baby didn't even fight back. We didn't even know he was bleeding because he was so calm afterwards.

What kind of A-hole selects "dislike" on this video? I found a litter of newborn pups in a garbage bag on the side of the road and fell in love with them long before I realized they were Pitties. Now, I'd never want another breed of dog! I've given up my dream to move to New Zealand, because my dog is more important. He's my world. He goes everywhere with me, and loves people! He loves dogs, too, but he barks loudly to initiate play, and that scares owners that don't recognize dog body language.
I actually have a Blue Nose Pitbull and she is probably my second favorite dog i've ever owned. Shes strong, smart, and energetic, looks tough but is such a softy. I love talking naps in my garage with her laying right next to me. Love her so much.

my almost three year old chihuahua has played with two different pit bulls for almost his whole life. one even lays down the whole time they play to make it even.
Pitbulls do tend to make me nervous, however recently I met one that had no evil in her eyes, and I immediately felt fine.
Her owner did remark that she loves people, but for some reason becomes tense and angry when other dogs are around. She had no idea where that came from. I do believe that they are sweet, and that they will be sweet if raised normally, but dogs are dogs. Sometimes they don't like other dogs, or people. Not just Pitbulls. It happens.
Collies were created and bred to herd. Retrievers were created and bred to retrieve. So plenty of collies and retrievers now a days continue trying to do what they were bred for, even if their parents and grandparents were not herding or retrieveing dogs. Pit bulls were created to fight other dogs, and therefore are prone to dog aggression. NOT human aggression.Having dog aggression is not a bad thing, and if you think it is, you should seriously learn about the breed we are protecting
@walkersummrel yes I have had one. I own two and work with a local shelter and am part of an association for them. They are wonderful dogs. Very sweet. But it's the people that don't understand them that end up on the news saying "Oh, I never thought my sweet baby would do such a thing" after their dog has been put to sleep for killing another dog. Them being dog aggressive is not a bad thing....it's just part of the breed. If you don't like it or respect it, then you don't love these dogs

Correction. Spay and neuter most dogs and cats because we have enough dogs and cats needing homes in shelters because of irresponsible cat & dog owners and breeders of cats and dogs. Any big dog can do damage. Give it a rest. Just raise the poor dog right and know what you are doing and breed dogs responsibly and don't let them run loose unsupervised and spay and neuter most dogs because we have enough poor dogs and cats who are in shelters dumped by an irresponsible dog owner. The surviving dogs of Vick are perfect examples of a dog needing the right dog owner. They are thriving as pets and certified therapy dogs.
They chain up and tie a bait dogs legs together and muzzle it so It can't fight back then they reward the dog they are training every time it injures the bait dog. It's pretty horrible. :'(
I love all dogs, and have respect for each and every one of them. But one thing here that confused me, was that they said "It mostly matters how the pitbull is raised." I am having a hard time believing that, as I heard there was a women who has raised her full blooded pitbull right from its birth with love and nurture until it was a full grown adult. one day, the pitbull latched onto her face, and ripped half her entire cheek off, and she was only "cuddling" him.
The breed has some very serious issues concerning unethical breeding practices and over-population. Aggression is the primary concern, as a direct result of this. While the majority of the breed are not prone to such behavior, there are some very unhealthy, unstable animals out there that are sold or adopted out to people.

Pit bulls need a strong and loving owner to care for them and train them. My red nosed is one of the best and well behaved dogs I have ever owned. That said....Pits are a bullish and strong willed breed who need attention and exercise.

Actually OWN a Pit Bull before forming an opinion. Distinguish between media and reality. You sound like dumb asses. My Pit Bull has never even bit anyone, and she is currently SIX years old. She behaves excellent with children, small/big dogs, and NEVER bites or growls. ANY big dog is a "POTENTIAL MONSTER" and any dog can is a potential angel. Think twice.

My mom has 2 Lhasa Apso's, which i dislike, and they have both bit me hard enough to make me bleed. But that small dog that bites everyone isn't going to receive the attention.

@Pearl1920 heres a fact for you: i work on an ambulance, i get called for about 6-10 dog attacks per year, and to keep it recent, i worked 7 last year (only one was a pit btw). Apart from one or two exceptions, the attacks that involved pits were usually the ones with "thug" type owners in sub-par neighborhoods. Personally, i have never owned a pit, as i prefer boxers any day, but you can find arguements from pro-pit citizens, and anti-pit citizens, both will show 'facts' to prove their points.
I'd think it was common sense? dog behaviour stems from the owner. simple. My family has two german shepherds, and a staffordshire bull terrier. I personally have a GSD x Chow Chow mix. Any of those dogs could be classified as "dangerous" or "powerful".. but all of them are extremely loving and calm. why? They grew up in a good family and have always been socialised as much as possible. Dangerous pit bulls usually belong to young males who got the dog cos they thought it was "tough".

I'm dying to get a Pitbull. I rescued one about 6 months ago, but unfortunately I had to give him to a new family. But now, I'm literally dying for a Pit. Awesome dogs. Btw, I have a 7 year old maltese female, do you think they could live preacefully? She is really calmed so I don't know if she would be annoyed by such an active dog.
That really depends upon the individual dogs. How does she behavior with other animals? If she is aggressive towards other dogs, DEFINITELY not. If she handles other dogs fine, then you can perhaps find the right dog. I would suggest consulting with the people you would be getting the dog from. A supervised meet-and-greet is pretty much a MUST, and a male would be the better choice since females can be cranky with each other. Just take things slowly.
No problem. It really does depend on the individual dog, and any rescue or shelter that is worth adopting from will help you pick the right dog. Good luck with everything!

Like a 4 year old killed by grandfathers 4 pit bulls and they are not pit bulls they are Boxer's. you never seen on tv about a 2 week old baby being killed by a Dachshund. or a ! year old attacked by a Lab or a 5 year old boy attacked by a Rottweiler. They hardly show when Pit Bull typed dogs do good things like saving kids from harm or someone with a medical problem or saving random strangers.

Not all Pit Bulls typed dogs are not dangerous. American Pit bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and also American Staffordshire bull terrier or Pit bull mixes. In my opinion, They can be great Pets if they are in the right hands. They are not good for first time dog owners. I think people who has owned dogs that are very strong and has alot of energy and that can be DA or small animal aggressive should be the one who own these amazing dogs. Yes some has hurt people & other animals.

Pitbulls do tend to make me nervous, however recently I met one that had no evil in her eyes, and I immediately felt fine.
Her owner did remark that she loves people, but for some reason becomes tense and angry when other dogs are around. She had no idea where that came from. I do believe that they are sweet, and that they will be sweet if raised normally, but dogs are dogs. Sometimes they don't like other dogs, or people. Not just Pitbulls. It happens.

So plenty of collies and retrievers now a days continue trying to do what they were bred for, even if their parents and grandparents were not herding or retrieveing dogs. @walkersummrel yes I have had one. I own two and work with a local shelter and am part of an association for them. They are wonderful dogs. Very sweet. But it's the people that don't understand them that end up on the news saying "Oh, I never thought my sweet baby would do such a thing" after their dog has been put to sleep for killing another dog. Them being dog aggressive is not a bad thing....it's just part of the breed. If you don't like it or respect it, then you don't love these dogs

Wow. This totally made me lose respect for dogs 101. They don't have a clue what they are talking about. A TRUE APBT would never bite anyone. The dogs that bite people in the news are almost always mixes...and it is not "all in how you raise and socialize them". Any big dog can do damage. Give it a rest. Just raise the poor dog right and know what you are doing and breed dogs responsibly and don't let them run loose unsupervised and spay and neuter most dogs because we have enough poor dogs and cats who are in shelters dumped by an irresponsible dog owner. The surviving dogs of Vick are perfect examples of a dog needing the right dog owner. They are thriving as pets and certified therapy dogs.

I love all dogs, and have respect for each and every one of them. But one thing here that confused me, was that they said "It mostly matters how the pitbull is raised." I am having a hard time believing that, as I heard there was a women who has raised her full blooded pitbull right from its birth with love and nurture until it was a full grown adult. one day, the pitbull latched onto her face, and ripped half her entire cheek off, and she was only "cuddling" him.

The breed has some very serious issues concerning unethical breeding practices and over-population. Aggression is the primary concern, as a direct result of this. While the majority of the breed are not prone to such behavior, there are some very unhealthy, unstable animals out there that are sold or adopted out to people.

My mom has 2 Lhasa Apso's, which i dislike, and they have both bit me hard enough to make me bleed. @Pearl1920 heres a fact for you: i work on an ambulance, i get called for about 6-10 dog attacks per year, and to keep it recent, i worked 7 last year (only one was a pit btw). Apart from one or two exceptions, the attacks that involved pits were usually the ones with "thug" type owners in sub-par neighborhoods. Personally, i have never owned a pit, as i prefer boxers any day, but you can find arguements from pro-pit citizens, and anti-pit citizens, both will show 'facts' to prove their points.

I'd think it was common sense? dog behaviour stems from the owner. simple. My family has two german shepherds, and a staffordshire bull terrier. I personally have a GSD x Chow Chow mix. Any of those dogs could be classified as "dangerous" or "powerful".. but all of them are extremely loving and calm. why? They grew up in a good family and have always been socialised as much as possible. Dangerous pit bulls usually belong to young males who got the dog cos they thought it was "tough".

Btw, I have a 7 year old maltese female, do you think they could live preacefully? She is really calmed so I don't know if she would be annoyed by such an active dog.

That really depends upon the individual dogs. How does she behavior with other animals? If she is aggressive towards other dogs, DEFINITELY not. If she handles other dogs fine, then you can perhaps find the right dog. I would suggest consulting with the people you would be getting the dog from. A supervised meet-and-greet is pretty much a MUST, and a male would be the better choice since females can be cranky with each other. Just take things slowly.

Not all Pit Bulls typed dogs are not dangerous. American Pit bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and also American Staffordshire bull terrier or Pit bull mixes. In my opinion, They can be great Pets if they are in the right hands. They are not good for first time dog owners. @Shewolf134 As you all can see I stoped responding to baitkenh a while ago, and look he's just talking to himself, he makes a fool out of himself by talking to some one who is uneffected, by not responding you take away his power to ruin your youtubeing.

@Shewolf134 And oh my he's cursing is'nt his vocabulary just beautiful. And he's saying a vet is'nt educated, some one who's studied animals is uneducated...really? Sent aside your anger and just laugh like I am. Report, spam, and Vent. Threats are a waist of time when you really sit back and think about it. Now I'm going to go enjoy watching some pitties playing like the video and feel good that I don't weigh myself down with that much bad karma.
