My cats Midnight (all black) jumped onto my lap when I was 13 and had started having her babies on my lap. I moved her to a box, and I witnessed the whole birthing process, as well as being allowed by her to handle the kittens from the moment they were born. It was quite an honor, as most cats WILL NOT go near you until they feel the kittens are ok

When one of our cats gave birth she did it on the couch when i was in school... Damn!

the second one did it in the litter box and then left so we had to find them and take care of them and wait for her to start caring about them...

I remember when my outside cat was pregnant with my kittens like before she gave birth I could feel the kittens like inside her it was so weird lol. Then I brought her inside and she gave birth to da kittens on my bed. Wonderful experience. Haha.

I got the cat I have at the moment when I was 7/8 and my mum had her made infertile (not sure of the proper term) and I realy don't like her decision. Although it doesn't affect my relationship with my little fuzzy friend. she sleeps curled up by my chest most night ,gets up with me and has breakfast ,before sitting on my lap while I'm on the computer

Aww, my cat did this too :) She meowed really loudly and wanted me to follow her to her nest which was funnily enough, my bottom drawer too. I had to stay with her through the whole birth, if I left she would get up an start meowing again! But unfortunately she passed away a few months ago...I miss her so much. :(

My cat did exactly the same thing, well, she wouldn't leave my own mothers side, she kepts meowing at her and making her lie down beside her. If my own mum left the room my cat would literally cry until she came back. I think my cat was pretty terrified of the whole experience, having us there definitely made it easier for her. In the end she gave birth to three healthy little boycats. :)

My cat did the same thing 2 years ago on midsummers eve. I was outside with my family and she came right to me and started screaming. I followed her to the nesting area (in IKEA bookchase :P). But went out again. She came out again after a while but now with contractions. Anyway I spent midsummer 2009 watching and supporting my litte friend deliver 3 beautiful kittens :) And we kept one. Sadly mothercat was put to sleep 4 month later due to poisoning from something outside :(
