I sometimes wonder if Ferrari should have focused on simply producing various versions of the F40...and then kept refining each version year after year. Mind you...I'll never be able to afford any Ferrari...new or used...but I still wonder.

even though I love Ferrari's, especially the 288 GTO, to me the greatest car on the planet is the Bugatti Veyron, it might not have the passion and the style that these Italian stallions posses but it is by far the greatest of them all and I a, talking about cars in general, not light weight super cars or anything and as a whole nothing beats the veyron, what VW have created is the ultimate car, infact the in my book the greatest car of all times, to everyone there own but this is what I think..
Well opinion must be always respected but let me say something about Veyron. This car is unquestionably an engineering achievement but at which price ? I mean carmakers have to make money. VW had several problems during develpment of the car wasting money for design changes and credibility. Than finally starts to sell Veyron but none say that production is only about 225 units from 2005 ... so it' a sales failure.
Than I must suppose a supercar could be usable for its performance only on tracks where it has no chances against last supercar generation as Zonda, Enzo or Carrera Gt. Even if used as grand tourer It shows limits due to bad autonomy (high consumption and not big tank fuel capacity).
They're not trying to immitate Top Gear. Autocar is a serious magazine about cars. It's not a comedy show, with cars in it. They're both great, but different.
this guy doesn't look appealing as a car reviewer... he just doesn't look like a person to be reviewing or was it pleasant for me to watch him for 4 minutes... he distracted me from the beuatiness from the car, like a zit on a beautiful model's face. Also, he is fat as hell -_-... 4:30, I was disgusted... no offense, but when you are reviewing cars, you want to be fit as possible.
first of all: scuderia only weighs 1250 but the difference is only 115kg with all the fluids and fuel (1235 vs 1350).
Scuderia is waaaaaaay faster in EVERY condition, and if autocar guy wets his panties driving the F40 doesn't mean that it's a better car, but simply that he cannot drive. Period.
I'm going to eschew words like "soul" and "passion" because that's a very trite argument. Instead, I'll just say this. The F40 is a proper supercar that is raw and uncivilized.
The F430 is a plush, boring supercar built for the likes of snot nosed "new money" twerps, rappers and Kevin Federline.

430 scuderia weighs less than 1300KG.
Although it has lower power and torque to weight ratio, i doubt it will be slower than the F40.
BTW, i love both of it.

F40 is truly one of the greatest cars ever built.
I actually had the good fortune of driving one briefly when I was in high school. A girlfriend's dad had one. It was amazing.
His wife would take it to the grocery store sometimes which was quite a sight to see.
