you can guess the height of it. Then you can guess the distance of acceleration.
m*v²/2=m*g*h --> v=squareroot(2*g*h). So you have the speed near the beginning of the upwards part. Lets add 10 km/h for safety and the cart didn't stop entirely. So you got a speed and a distance so you can calculate the time and linear acceleration of it.
@alain001 the problem is that what you're talking about applies to a ride like Kingda Ka. However, storm runner doesn't just go up, slow down and go down. It goes up and pulls you down at a considerably high speed. The only way you can find out the real specs is to get them from Hershey.

When I was at hershey I saw at least 4 people leave the station with a camera including someone next to me on great bear who had it out while they were checking his restraint. It's their job.

When I saw the drop I was like that's it? It was 150ft if I believe kingda ka is like 400 something. So this is kinda a little one lol

@laserboy831 It depends what time you go, when I went it was a pretty cool day and cloudy so really not a lot of people were there, the only ride I had to wait more then 10 min for was for Fahrenheit which because its new, was really busy. and honestly, you still feel the force no matter where you go, I usually go for the middle though.
@MoonLitCat i went to hershey 6 days ago and there were only like 1500 people there and most of them were at the water park so the lines were so short on the storm runner they only had to do 1 or 2 cycles when i rode and i rode it 5 times it was really cool
Right when you start off yougo so much faster than it looks the drop feels like easy 5 seconds its so epic. You get off and wonder what the fuck happened doesnt even compare to ferenheight in my book
@JerseyShore117 yes its a hell of a lot taller and faster in person. Really it looks like nothing unless your on the wide. The push is amazing, you dont get it from watching the video

my friend sat on that seat on his first time and i sat next 2 him and forgot to tell him to put his head back during the launch, and he forgot that his head would slam backwards, instead of forwards, and then got a massive headache, and a welt on the back of his head as well. silly people, your head slams backwards, not forwards.

I rode this last sunday night (9/13). I was scared shitless to even get on, and I told my gf that we'd look like idiots at the end of the ride. Yeah, that happened. I was sitting on my keys and they flew out of my pocket at some point. Of course the loose change didn't go anywhere. They had to call maintenance and thank god were they able to find my keys.
Summary: Don't take ANYTHING on this ride unless it is physically tied to you. Lesson learned :(
I went on that train but in the back last month (FIRST TIMER) I love when your launched and going domn the steep drop made me stand up. i didnt feel the loop, but stood up in the twist (I'm 5 foot) IT ROCKED!!!!!!

@LaMbChOpZssc Technically speaking, toyinattic is right. The true name of that element is a "Cobra Loop". However, most people do use it interchangeably with an immelmann because of how similar the two look.
They have this on RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. Of course, you can't get the full experience of it unless you're on this coaster in real life. But I don't have the guts to go on a coaster lol

the coasters there arent really that great. the ones i liked were comet, wild cat, Fahrenheit, and storm runner. the other ones like great bear was WEAK. I would only go to this park once more just for those coasters.
@XxSuddenlyPsychotic interesting... my favorite coaster is actually the great bear... i don't really like the storm runner that much. after the novelty of it wears off, it's not that fun cause it only lasts for such a short time. the great bear is a solid ride imo.

The ride itself is so short! I remember a few years ago, my brother and sister went on this. About three minutes later they came out. My dad asked "is it being shut down?" And they said "No, we rode it."
I work here, its amazing. BUT be sure to bring loads of cash or a good credit card! lol they rob you on food and drink prices. FYI you can go to stands and ask for a free cup of water =]
Take off is cool. I like the horse sounds lol. And the double barrel roll is fun. But overall, I feel like this ride could have done more.

This ride was A RUSH. I had no idea where I was going...like I didn't even know if I was upside down or not?!?! Haha!!! :) I think there was a traffic light in the beginning, because I remember just STARING at it...it was fun, very fun :)

my friend sat on that seat on his first time and i sat next 2 him and forgot to tell him to put his head back during the launch, and he forgot that his head would slam backwards, instead of forwards, and then got a massive headache, and a welt on the back of his head as well. silly people, your head slams backwards, not forwards.

I rode this last sunday night (9/13). I was scared shitless to even get on, and I told my gf that we'd look like idiots at the end of the ride. Yeah, that happened. I was sitting on my keys and they flew out of my pocket at some point. Of course the loose change didn't go anywhere. They had to call maintenance and thank god were they able to find my keys.
Summary: Don't take ANYTHING on this ride unless it is physically tied to you. Lesson learned :(

I went on that train but in the back last month (FIRST TIMER) I love when your launched and going domn the steep drop made me stand up. i didnt feel the loop, but stood up in the twist (I'm 5 foot) IT ROCKED!!!!!!

@LaMbChOpZssc Technically speaking, toyinattic is right. The true name of that element is a "Cobra Loop". However, most people do use it interchangeably with an immelmann because of how similar the two look.

They have this on RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. Of course, you can't get the full experience of it unless you're on this coaster in real life. But I don't have the guts to go on a coaster lol

the coasters there arent really that great. the ones i liked were comet, wild cat, Fahrenheit, and storm runner. the other ones like great bear was WEAK. I would only go to this park once more just for those coasters.

@XxSuddenlyPsychotic interesting... my favorite coaster is actually the great bear... i don't really like the storm runner that much. after the novelty of it wears off, it's not that fun cause it only lasts for such a short time. the great bear is a solid ride imo.

The ride itself is so short! I remember a few years ago, my brother and sister went on this. About three minutes later they came out. My dad asked "is it being shut down?" And they said "No, we rode it."

I work here, its amazing. BUT be sure to bring loads of cash or a good credit card! lol they rob you on food and drink prices. FYI you can go to stands and ask for a free cup of water =]
