Before anyone tries this with a real gun,(which you know people will) consider some of the problems I thought of.

1. An auto-loading handgun with a hammer has a free moving firing pin and if the forward momentum is sufficient it can cause a mis-fire. It is because of this that the ideal pistol for the rig would be a double action revolver, or a pistol with an internal firing pin release

2. Make sure the forward movement does not drag on the slde and semi draw it back, this can result in a jam
