  • Ohhhh damn I gotta take back my props for this film. I TOTALLY FORGOT...

How TOTALLY RACIST this film was towards asians.

Joel Grey in yellow-face? WTF were they thinking?!!!!

I had a Korean best friend who almost fought me over liking this film lol. He was right to. It's why after all these years I cant revisit it. Why couldn't they just cast an asian actor. What an INSULT to asians everywhere. Ruins a perfectly great movie.

  • @o82774 But that is a sign of some great acting. I had to look it up to find out that it was in fact Joel Grey playing Chiun. While I agree they could have totally used an Asian actor preferably Korean, bu toyu can't deny that Joel Grey was great in this. Personally I think he is more offensive to Americans in this, but maybe americans have a better sense of humor about themselves more than Koreans do.

  • @TNO73

    I hate to say it...

But it was a tremendous performance. Was it an accurate portrayal? I wouldn't dare say that. Was it offensive? Even considering that Chiun was essentially a god-like being the fact that it was not played by an asian makes it offensive. I see ur point about it being offensive to americans but since americans made it it's not as bad as someone else making fun of us (plus there really is no history of asians oppressing us to get sensitive about). Remo still rocked.

  • I practiced running on air every time I went to the beach after this. Never happened but hey one day who knows? Awesome movie. Awesome theme song. Stories told with utter creativity and conviction. The 80'S RULE

  • I watched this god knows how many times growing up...and the theme song still gives me chills! I miss movies like these!

  • waay before the world trade center changed new york...1985.

  • 'Fast food is a fast way to the grave!' Chuin

  • you gotta love 80s theme tunes!

  • I know many say this movie was horrible but hey it is a flight of fantasy, the books themselves are tongue in cheek about the whole Cold-War era ONE MAN CAN MAKE DIFFERENCE thing

  • The opening theme is AWESOME! Especially when the gun sounds spice it up!

  • Love this movie...the Destroyer series that it came from....and the uploader.

  • @GrandFunker

and Captain Kathryn Janeway! she's the female lead!

  • @TheSunmanho RIght on! She's way hotter in this movie than on Voyager. I think it's how she gets all giggly towards Remo.

  • Excellent upload.

  • Nice to see this uploaded...I have the Region 2 DVD (bought that version online since it was the only widescreen version available) but don't want to lock my computer's DVD into that region permanently.

This is going to be a regular view for me...thanks.

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT POST!!! YOU GET MEGA PROPS FOR THIS THROWBACK!!!!I SALUTE YOU

  • Now that's a cop, didn't taze or shoot anybody, he just kicked ass!

  • Man, I always loved this movie. When I was a kid, I wanted to be just like Remo!

  • @sabre926

    Remo? or Master Chiun?!

    me Master Chiun

  • @sabre926 Sam had it good eating burgers for long time and donuts

  • @silverkingukable

Yep, but all that came to an end when he became Remo. I still get a kick out of the training scenes Remo went through in this movie:

Chiun; Rely on what you know...not what you see.

  • @sabre926 Guy playing Chuin is great.I really thought he was Korean lol
