Shizophrenia is a word of so much impact... I don't think this artist is that sick, he isn't... But some stupid shrink thought he we was a shizo and gave him the worst drugs possible: neuroleptics and anti-psychotics... At least the docs eventually realize all the damage done with their chemical shit... This is rather sad.
But I'm glad I've discovered this american painter (I am french)

I really rate this guy. I bet there's a lot of people/artists out there who can relate to him, I do. I thought it was a shame he said he had to move away from painting people because he thought he might offend someone, even though some of it was quite dark material it was still good and part of who he was. After seeing the docu I'd wouldn't mind buying one of his pieces myself.
I went to School with Alan, or Rusty as we called him, and he was a truly lovely guy, I actually still have two of his original school art books. He was talented even then. I wish I could convince want an amazing wonderful and talented human being he is. Clearly, he has his problems, but he is a lovely guy, I can still see the friend in him I knew as a boy in his interviews here.
I enjoyed the paintings. I have a similar story on my channel.
