This wasn't smiled "a pon" back then, it was admired due to his anti-hero demeanor. He's really smiled upon today. We smile because he embarrasses himself with embarrassing jokes and a minor, basic, and predictive moveset. I respect him, but I don't like his character. No one does. He's stale, boring, and overpushed.
