It's not really a beat down in terms of world series wins because red sox and yankees can never play each other.
In terms of playing in games in general, the yankees have won ~55% of the time in all of the rivalry's history. So no matter how good you are at math, that's a pretty fair fight. That''s almost the flip of a coin.
So I do see where you are coming from but then again, it's isn't the best of arguments because both teams, in fact, do basically rule the AL, if not the mlb in general.

Boston's only been in the mix since 2003. Any time before that was a rarity. They'll only "own" tha AL when they've got the hardware to prove it. All they are is contenders. That doesn't make them champions. But, they will be, if they keep following the Yankees spending ways. Since the Yankees OWN 25% of ALL WS titles, they have proven the formula. All Boston is doing, now, is following their example. They have a LONG way to go before 'owning' anything, other than their two recent titles.

You really can't read can you? I said they play each other all the time but you can't say the yankees put a whooping on the sox in the world series because its impossible for them to play each OTHER. But, they DO play up to 20 games against each other, every year. And the ALDS and ALCS games. THe Sux took ONE ALCS from the Yankees. ONE.
The Yankees clearly have the edge in historical wins 1,117933, against Boston.
Oh, and the Yanks are about to sign Halladay away from Toronto. Too bad for Boston.
