Troy Davis fled the scene of the crime for 4 days before turning himself in. 4 days is enought time to discard the weapon and explains why the weapon wasn't found. 9 people testified under oath at the trial that Troy Davis was the triggerman. The Troy Davis crowd always waited until a week or 2 before the execution date before bringing up all their points. I don't know how many chances and how many judges looked at this, but apparently quite a few. I think he shot that cop for a beer he was stealing from a homeless man that he was pistol whipping.
