In a way, yes, Blazblue is "replacing" Guilty Gear, due to issues over the possession of the rights to Guilty Gear.

Essentially, Blazblue is the spiritual successor of Guilty Gear, bringing the GG spirit to the next-generation.

wow wow Wow WOw WOW!Ya know It was never Ky, or Sol that had me loving GG, it was the supporting cast. And these new characters has me quite overly excited.

All the characters look very playable, but i'll tell you, I'm going with Rachel=alucard. I can't pass up the gothic lolita. Thats just too cool.

I also loved how the arc made a cool trailer chock full of combos. They know we know how we play their games.

the sega thing is a half truth, sega owns the distribution rights of gg, and ishiwatari owns the creative rights, but because sega is a corporation of the devil, and no one wants to be prisioner, arcsys decided to make a new game for not being attached to sega, the funny thing is that sega cant make games with the name of GG if ishiwatari is not in the project, and ishiwatari doesnt want to make games with sega, so gg is useless for sega without arcsys and ishiwatari, so sega is screwed

Right now it's only confirmed that the arcade board it's going to be on is the Taito Type X2

The balancing and gameplay looks good so far. Tager may be over the line with damage(and lol it looks like easy tech punishes)

I never played the game at the testing locations(lol I'm in MD) so i don't know if tagers damage reflects on everything else he has, or of every other character in the game

I kinda wish it was. I'll miss FRCs and a lot of unique and interesting properties they didn't bring back for the new characters.

The new burst mechanics aren't favorable for how I like to burst, and the guard break looks troublesome for me too.

With ground teching, the game play won't have the lulls I'm used to either.

While Arakune seems like he'll have eddie like abilities, Tager seems to have traded away almost all the things that made potemkin good.

That said, I'm totally buying.

So basically complain that it's not GG. I for myself am gald since from what I see this game is a bit more grounded. The damage scaling in GG was ridiculous, the last 20% of your life were really, really stretched.

That said, I love the new drive system. A gameplay mechanic as the core idea of a character is a great thing in my book.

That's true, I really should pay more attention to what's interesting about the new mechanics. I play potemkin, so that damage scaling was a valuable ally. I was just upset that Tager's not looking great since I heard that that if you combo into a command throw they can escape it. Magnetism only goes so far.

But yeah, this game is not guilty gear. Not that that's a bad thing.

Arc wanted badly to continue the storyline of GG, however sega took rights to GG characters and they had to resort to create a new game...

but hiding connections with GG, they 'over-complicated' the same storyline patterns, and needed very quick new names of characters, system, etc. that's why it sounds (and looks) so funny to somebody who can 'think' in english.

i can think in english, so i found that funny, nothing more.

i really can't wait for this game to be released on arcade & console.

According to "Arcadia" magazine Sega and Sammy merged to create one gaming company.

Arc System said then, they stop creating games on Naomi arcade boards (on those boards you can play GG in Japan), so Arc stops with GG and thay had to start another similiar series.

Cheracters created before GGIsuka are originally Sammy's (they are also Sega's now), so Order Sol and ABA remains Arc's...

They just try to be too original in naming characters and game system. Ridiculous is also "rebel" for "round" (no sense), and "action" for "fight" (as it was some worse rated film).

I agree on the "rebel" part instead of round, but "fight" can be replaced with "action". You're forgetting this is originally a japanese game. There's bound to be translation errors and whatnot.
