I have seen 30 foot cliff drops into deeper snow and they ski off fine and dandy right away, not to mention some massive backcountry kickers.. but then again, for a novice, even with feet down... yeah, no chance.
IIRC it is up Funitel Peclet, about half way down there is a ridge on some off piste on the left hand side. Its quite hard to spot as it doesn't actually look like you can jump, we kinda found it by accident as we're all bad skiers! lol
I would only recommend hitting it in deep snow if you're as crap as us as you might hurt yourself (as my jump / crash proves!)

Even if you had landed on your feet you would have wiped out, the snows far to deep to land a jump that big
