I had the plesure of knowing Jim Masoner in the late 70s\early80s when he was doing A Country Western gig in A bar called the ECHO It was by far the best act in town.Im not kidding and one of the sweetest you could ever know.

Negative. The Ventures first wrote this song and it was called "Spudnik". But the Lively Ones version is MUCH better. I still do not know how they get such great fidelity, minus the Strat.;)

Why do you think that Strat wouldnt do the trick? I think that it is perfect for sound like that ... even better would be Telecaster...

Not in the 2nd and 3rd blade positions. They sound to nasaly using the middle pickup with bridge or neck. Using the single coils, ok but the original was recorded w/ a Gretch or Jaguar which didn't have the middle pickup.

Wow, just wow. I never expected this from them. The sound is fantastic but the Strat doesn't do the song justice like the Gretch did.
