Thanks Sneeky: People are complaining about the Ubuntu 11.04 I installed on their machines with gnome 2.3 classic. Once they self upgraded, Ubuntu clobbered that and installed unity. This was really nasty of Ubuntu to do that to newbies. Will be pursuing a usb debian based persistence distro and leave ubuntu. Just noticed zevenos has a gnome 2 version.
