IROBOT do not valadate warranty that are purchased on EBAY . yet there are lots for sale,And there cheaper than irobot site. so i discovered .....snif
The new roomba 560 and 570 have had some problems. I think the home command center is really cool which is what comes with them but just get a 550. It has a scheduler on it but no mobile command center.
(Follow-up) iRobot said I needed a replacement but that they wouldn't have one for weeks (they weren't sure how long and didn't seem to concerned about it) so the 570 went back to the place where I bought it for a refund. Too bad, it was really cool when it worked right. I loved to listen to it cleaning under the bed while I lay there just reading a magazine. ;) -- Mr. B
I would probably call iRobot before you do anything like opening it up for yourself. That will void the warranty. I was having the same problem right out of the box, it seems as though it may of been damaged during shipping. My Roomba 560 would say, "please inspect and clean Roombas' right wheel" and wouldn't turn on. I finally called up iRobot and they are sent me a new wheel module. It fixed the problem and it's back to normal.
My roomba 570 failed too due to debris entering the gearbox. Irobot would not help, They said by fixing it once I voided my warranty. These robots are toys not tools and irobot won't back them up!! Don't buy get a good non-robotic vacuum you will be much happier in the long run!!
If it is not an irobot prescribed maintenance procuedure, irobot will use any disasemby of thier product to drop thir product warranty. I harrased the customer service supervisor so much that when I suggested that I wanted to return my product for a refund as per the 30 day policy, they made this happen! If you have this product, I suggest you return it if you still can.
It's typical for companies with product quality issues to have policies where warranty is void after you open up a device yourself. When I had problems with a Roomba I returned it to the retailer for a new working one. Some larger retailers don't care why you're returning it as long as it's in the warranty period.
I also have had problems with my 570, there is a gearbox with six nylon gears which spin the brushes. Dirt and fluff gets in there due to bad design or bad manufacture and has caused enough friction to melt the casing. See my video for details.
Aww, he's so sad!

currently the roomba's need lots of maintenance(gearbox cleaning monthly) in order for it to last for 2 years.
i just wished they made the gearbox maintenance easy by making it a clip-on , not something i have to use a screwdriver to open.

I think your roomba is very sensative to wine, maybe you shouldn't leave wine on the floor.

its obvious that the problem is that it developed sentience and is now questioning its meaning in life.
