  • how do u get ur trains to run so smoothly on the points

can u tell me the name of the points again and are the hornby r8072 n r8073 good too use

and did that scotsman have sound

  • @jmsschooner 1st question already gone through that one with several times. Points go for the Electrofrog type by the likes of Peco. Sound, only if i fit a sound decoder in it.

  • i got some tracs for my flying scotsman but the nearest stokest only has lms coaches lol

  • Have a shop around on the net for best prices & availability, cheers.

  • By far the best train in the WORLD!

  • :-)

  • Hi, Whats the best decoder?

  • Depneds on your budget etc. Ones by the likes of TCS, Lenz are very good. I've just the Hornby Sapphire, so once fitted i'll give it a good testing. Looking at it's specs it does look very good.Cheers.

  • i purchesed a flying scotsman 2 day but i cant find my track to run it on

  • Looks really good the Flying Scotsman , you will have to get a sound chip gor it.

  • I'm going to leave this one just with the decoder in. I had a right job getting the body back on & nearly broke the body. Don't think i could face taking it off again, but Sound on this would be nice....than again maybe one of the DCC fitting services may be called upon if i do go for sound on this.

  • hi i have commented on here befor no avence but that flying scotsmen is the best loco running on your railway. it stands out from everything

  • Runs even better on DCC, really smooth.Cheers & many thanks.

  • 5 star vid what kind of coal did you use for your hornby hoppers

  • It's a Scottish model scenic material's company that makes it.Can't remember which one it it is.I'll try & find out for you who it is.

Other ones that are worth buying are stuff by "Ten Commandments" "Parkside Dundas" "Duha" "Harburn Hamlet" to name just a few.If you can make it to any of the Model railway shows, you'll get a good selection of model scenic items.Cheers.

  • cool iain! is the eddie stobart on DCC?

  • Hi mate. The whole layout is now on DCC.The Eddie Stobart 66 is fitted with a Zimo 21 pin decoder.Runs great with it too.Cheers.

  • Hey mate

Is this your layout? Looks great, im not a steam fan but i liked the look of that one, looks like it runs really smooth!!

  • Hi Bondy, yes it is.Was going to be part of a much bigger 3 level layout with this been the lower fiddle yard.About to start building the next layout, as i'm retiring this one after 5 1/2 years.DCC has made the Scotsman run even smoother, it's a great runner.Cheers.

  • nice video! 5*
