  • I didn't make any vegetable soup and what are you talking about???

  • I didn't make one but I buy one. Still trying to get it heat up right.. so far the best I did was 350 degree.. not sure if it can go higher. Like to make more dish but not sure what I can do.

  • @tdiep 350 is a good temperature to cook with. you really don't need it hotter. the lower the temp, the food actually tastes alot better because of the slow cooking.

  • @tdiep you should add some of that Marijuana growing in your yard to the soup, BE A TRUE VEGETABLE SOUP. What kind of strain you growing there?

  • i tried to make a solar oven it was crappy but im making a new pizza box oven today :)

  • @TheSk8tergamer Great! realize a pizza box oven needs alot more help than just what you see on others videos. I have some vids on me making a pizza in one but it takes some time. making bigger ovens is well worth making because they will hold heat better and you can bake alot more items too. Keep at it, once you have it mastered, you really will enjoy it! GOOD LUCK and make a video when you have success!

  • dear solar cooking nut, i heard listening to how to make rocket stoves, of rolls of aliminimium of the thickness used for cans that you can buy in wall mart i think it was. for three dollar or two.I Here in madrid europe i have found places that sell sheets of thinnish aliminium . I bet you could find a use for them. solar cooking so i thought i'd tell you. rose -

  • some hardware shops sell aluminium foil tape, automotive shops sell chrome decal stuff, either of these would help

  • (( Sounds like a bunch of Rattlesnakes in the background--WHere is this place

  • LOL, no, summer cicadas.

  • oh god i can smell it threw the computer looks good .. im hungry now lol ...very smart idea going to test out some hotdogs

  • smart lady!

  • I am gourmetly retarded and so really apprieate your recipies. going to try to find time to build an oven today. I boil all my water for washing and cleaning with a 6 foot concentrating dish made from recylcled satallite dish and boroken mirrors. Almost all the way from propane now, except for the fridge.

  • solar cooking is simple cooking. I like cooking outside because I can go to the garden, pull up fresh potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots if I have any, wash and peel, tossing peels in the compost pile, put in pan and start cooking! No mess or heat in the kitchen! I see your dish, that is wonderful! be careful about your eyes though, you need to make sure you use sunglasses so you don't burn your retinas. You don't feel it, but it happens, so be careful!

  • you bet it can cook eyes too. I am careful with the glare. I have gotten zapped a few times and learned my lesson. funny, I left a similar comment about eye protection on another dish video.

  • sounds like saccada is the secret ingredient XD

  • Oh, I Love Sun :D

  • I see this thing taking off in Britain...

  • I notice that in most of your videos, none of your cooker use glass for glazing but rather some kind of plastic. I am currently building a heavens flame solar cooker (four removeable reflectors) and I am having trouble with the glazing material. How do you make the clear window glazing for your cookers?

  • I busted so many windows because I couldn't find tempered glass I just gave up and went to turkey oven roasting bags. You can buy them at any grocery store, I buy the largest ones they have. My slantfaced oven is on its second year with its window and still holding up great.

  • To make the window, I just cut the bag in such a way it fits over the opening. I make it 1-2 inches larger than the opening so that I will have plenty of room to work with if it gets ripped on the edge. I then, lay the plastic aside, lay a thin bead of elmers or other white glue 1/2 from the opening, then very carefully lay the plastic on and gently pull the sides to make it tight and then let it dry.

  • And using the bags make it alot lighter too. and if you accidentally poke a little hole in it, like if the wire prop slips and pokes it, you can just put a little light bead of elmers over the hole to patch it up.

The bags are cheap, and do a great job when it comes to flexibility in creating new kinds of ovens.

    Hope this helps.

  • Since you are building the heavens flame, If I were you, I would make a nice flat wooden frame, about 1/2 inch thick, then glue a single piece of turkey oven bag on it, let it dry, then flip it over, glue another piece on the other, this way you will have double glazing to hold more heat in, and the weight of the wood would hold down into the oven, and makes it easy to just simply put a nice cabinet knob on.

  • Be sure to pull the plastic out tight so it don't sag in the middle. When it heats up, it will tend to sag, so try to be sure it's pulled out nice like a pane of glass.

    good luck!
