I think he did a great job in this one, But sadly they cared more about the singing part than his acting skills in his movies.- I would have loved to see him in a good role with no singing...just a good moviescript.- He would have done great, he suddenly had the gift for acting too.
Actually, Elvis did manage to get through one film without singing: the 1969 western, "Charro". He only sings the title track over the credits.
I agree with you: Elvis certainly had the talent to become a great actor. I haven't seen "Flaming Star" yet (can't buy it anywhere locally!), but I own most of his films on DVD, and another mostly non-singing role, in "Wild In The Country", is one of my top 5 Elvis films. His '50s films also gave him a lot of room to stretch his acting muscles.
my favorite elvis film.did not do well at the box office because only 3 songs were done in it .but a hit with critics .colonel and the studios did not promote it as much as the musical movies
Thanks! im from argentina and in the school we are studing rock&roll music origins, and i need a piece of this movie and you give it to me ! YEAHH! IM SO GOOD XD
Isn't there a sad scene in this movie???

Elvis' best movie and I reckon in the top ten of the greatest westerns ever made.
If only He would have been able to make more movies like this.
