@EllenRebecca3 That's because you're watching it on youtube. It will only look it's best on an actual blu-ray disc. Ripping and converting from blu-ray to youtube format will result in compression of the video. It's the same resolution but not the same quality, still impressive non-the-less.

@mattburkey That makes perfect sense, and I agree 100% it's impressive. How do people upload their videos to the best quality? I'm using WMM. Do you know the step-by-step process for doing that? My computer gives the option of 'best quality' automatically but I beg to differ. :-)

@EllenRebecca3 Windows Movie Maker and WMV are limited. It's intuitive and comes bundled with Windows so it's accessible, but it's very 'entry level' in it's performance. There are a whole array of different video editors and codecs out there. AVC is the best video codec for high definition video (blu-rays use it). MP4 can be very good. Some early blu-rays use MPEG2 at high bitrate but pale in comparison to AVC. DIVX and XVID formats offer a lot. I use Magix Movie Edit. It's value for money IMHO
