  • Some people are not gonna want to stop wanting more wars, until they reach World War 3!

  • I wannna see every one of these PNAC Blood Profiteer's (Gafney, Wolfowitz, Pearle, Libby, Cheney, Kristol, Scheuneman, etc.) stock portfolios.

In a JUST country, free of Military-Industrial influence, that kind of transparency would be the law. You KNOW what you'd find there: Carlysle, Haliburton, Exxon, Boeing, General Dynamics, DynCorp, etc., etc. That would destroy their 'credibility' once and for all.

Too bad we don't live in that country.

  • The "neocon" here happens to be right about the Iraq Survey Group. It's not like we really needed that report though.

Anyone following current affairs during the 90s and early 21st knew as a point of general knowledge that Saddam was an brutal tyrant who desperately wanted nukes and (we all thought) already had bio/chemical weapons... and that Saddam was a sponsor of terrorists... and that Saddam was firing at US planes who tried to enforce the UN rules he was always trying to break.

  • Saddam was a "brutal dictator" when RUMSFELD sold him chemical weapons for St. Reagan. As for broken U.N, rules, see Israel. Killing a million people who have relatives who'll want revenge was NOT the solution for making us 'safer'. See REPUBLICAN foreign policy guru Brent Scowcroft's 2003 "Don't attack Saddam".

  • None of these problems (with Iran & Iraq especially) would have arisen if we hadn't deposed Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh, a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leader in Iran in the 60's--because they were nationalizing THEIR oil.

It always comes down to American greed (most esp. of oil & weapons manufacurers).

  • exactly!

    we don't WANT democracy!

Its just a excuse like the white mans burden to give the noble savage-type Iraqi's "freedom" and "democracy".

How is continuing a illegal unjustified unending war "democratic"???

    Makes me sick

  • This war is objectively 'illegal', 'unjustified' and 'unending' is it? How did you find that out? Oh the UN doesn't like it? Tough. I don't care about democracy, I care about human- and civil rights.

  • 1) I'm not a republican. I'm a liberal progressive. 2) The US did not kill a million people.

  • Saddam was firing at US Planes that were conducting air strikes on Iraq. Was he not supposed to defend his country?

  • debate before you go to war. geez, the enemy would be knocking on the door to the senate while they are still arguing. that's why you have 1 person to act, the POTUS

  • Going to war on the drop of a hat is very very foolish and destructive.

what enemy? Sadaams non-existent legions of Al-Qaeda terrorists unarmed with non-existent nuclear bombs??

The US spends more on Defense than the rest if the world combined...

  • drop of a hat? you guys just make up your own history? we went thru several UN resolutions,Un presentations, congressional debates and votes. we didn't just go do it.

non existent al qaeda terrorists. they were sure quick to show up after we got baghdad. you didn't say anything about the fedayeen.

And the rest of the world is thankful we do spend so much on Defense. What would the world be like if we didn't? Peaciful? Only a fool would think that.

  • History lesson: we kicked the inspectors OUT (ask Scott Ritter and Hans Blix), and had no REAL coalition of the willing. And the invasion was DUMB strategy in the war on terror. EXACTLY what Osama, SWORN ENEMY of Saddam, WANTED us to do to: give AQ more recruits and moral support (ask REPUBLICANS Brent Scowcroft and Richard Clarke). How many times do you people have to hear this before it sinks in?

  • When Gafney said "anybody who understands the danger of biological agents...", Matthews should have asked:

    a. "Who SOLD him those biological agents" (Rumsfeld in the 80's)

    b. Would he have used them on us (OR Israel), knowing it would be suicide? (Richard Clarkes's reality-based assessment.) He had them for over TWENTY YEARS and didn't...

  • By the way, "This is how liberty dies ....to thunderous applause" was written about BUSH. See my MASTER OF WAR website and learn something new (start with the articles George W. Vader?" "George W. Vader?").

And anybody who still thinks, after all that's gone down, that Darth Cheney and his Wormtongue sidekick are "defenders of liberty", and Obama is not, is terminally willfully ignorant.

  • (Should read "The Empire Strikes Bush", and "George W. Vader?").

  • let's go ALL OUT to win

    No more frivolous prosecutions of U.S. soldiers for doing their jobs and doing them right;

    Rescinding our misguided ban on coercive interrogations so we can get the intelligence we need to stop attacks on our troops and on Iraqi civilians;

    Stopping, by any means necessary, the illicit arms flow into Iraq from Iran and Syria;

This is the way we fought Adolf Hitler and imperial Japan, and it is the way we need to fight today if our goal is victory.

  • Iranian Shiites, so-called twelver Shiites, believe that their messiah, a little boy who vanished in the 9th Century to escape his assassins, has been living ever since in the bottom of a well in Iran, and that at the end of times, he will reemerge and lead them to greatness and glory, and a successful jihad against all the infidels

  • Of course, this is one of those "I know someone who knows someone," but my Aunt insists she spoke to a guy who works at one of the nuclear labs in Oak Ridge, TN and he said there were lots of weapons of mass destruction shipped and stored there from Iraq.

  • The Iraqis were working to develop biological weapons using the poison ricin "right up until" the invasion in March. Officers in the Republican Guard, he said, told interrogators that they believed other guard units had biological or chemical weapons.

ISG found illegal weapons programs I dont know what book your people are reading out of but They were trying to weaponize ricing up until the invasion

ISG stated this get your facts straight

  • You are starting to sound like the nuts that burn US troupes in effigy.

Your longing for the rape rooms and mass graves under Saddam astounds me, you must wish you were a guard Dachau

  • What astounds me is that supporting the troops=sending them to meaningless death just so some executive pukes can have a few more billion dollars that they don't want to share.

But no, our government is perfectly nice and moral, I mean, we didn't teach Saddam how to torture in the first place....oh wait, ok maybe we did.

  • What astounds me is the people that wish to surrender or appease the islamo-fasist. My grandfather could see Hitler was about and left Germany to come to America in the depression, but the nuts that can't see the terrorist for what they are the same as Neville Chamberlain . The Terrorist have given you a choice on your knees to Mecca or with your neck stretched out. Which one do you chose?

  • You are comparing apples and oranges. Hitler led a developed nation-state bent on conquering Europe and north Africa. Terrorism is very different. Terrorists cannot take over this country. They take over failed states. Terrorism is a tactic. They cannot force anything on us. The most they can do is scare people like you into responding in a completely irrelevant way so as to swell their numbers.

  • President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is leading a nation state that is working very hard to developing nuclear weapons and is supplying weapons, training and fighters for Al Qaeda in Iraq. He firmly believes that a world war will bring the 12th Imam back and bring with him a world wide Islamic state. It looks like the more things change the more they stay the same.

  • cupera, claiming that Iran supports al Qaeda flies in the face of every report I've seen coming out of Iraq. Al Qaeda is largely Sunni. Perhaps you meant to say Iran is supporting the Shia militias and perhaps Shia terrorists in Iraq. Of course, no evidence has been presented for the latter claim either, though it would no surprise me were it going on.

  • Most people believe that Sunnis and Shiites can't work together; it's one of the greatest myths. The Revolutionary Guards were the super-Shiite Revolutionary Guards were created by the super-Sunni al Fatah, which came right out of the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood. Sunni al Qaeda and Shiite Hezbollah are working together in Iraq right now. The German and Italian governments had evidence showing that Zarqawi was operating a terrorist network from Tehran before 2001.

  • What is the evidence you mention here? Is it available for inspection?

  • do a google search of

    Ahmadinejad and the 12th Iman

    and

Michael Ledeen author of The Iranian Time Bomb

  • I refer to my previous post about Ahmadinejad. He is not the leader of Iran. He is a joke. He embarrassed himself and his government with his recent trip here. He has overplayed his once advantageous hand that was provided by the Bush foreign policy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already been marginalized within Iran, or is at least in the process of being so.

  • Ignoring the problem is not going to make it go away. YOU are the same sort of that person that thought that Hitler couldn't possibly be 'serious.' Ahmadinejad is VERY serious and is VERY commited.

  • Two very different situations. I think militaries are increasingly obsolete. There is no military solution to terrorism. Terrorism is a tactic. You can't go to war against a tactic. I can mention very many failed attempts at solving terrorist problems with military force. Can you mention even one success?

  • With respect to what Ahmadinejad believes, that is pure speculation and is largely irrelevant as he is only a figure head. I don't know why you would worry about Iran having nukes. During the cold war, the US relied upon the MAD doctrine and disavowed first strike options. If it was good enough for a much more powerful USSR, why not Iran?

  • . They think that time is now rapidly approaching, and so this cabinet sat down, wrote a contract with this little boy, signed it, had it hand carried to that well and dropped down the well so that the Mahdi, the 12th Imam, would know that he had a loyal government in Tehran.

  • Taking the terrorists on quietly, as the criminal justice matter that it is, is the best way to deal with terrorism. We should pull all troops out of all regions of the world and bring them home. Deactivate them.

  • Been there done that. It was called the 90's

  • No. We had troops in the middle east, South Korea, Europe, Japan, etc... We have not tried what I am suggesting. Terrorism has no power if one does not succumb to fear.

  • can you expain your plan to defeat terrorism in 500 charaters or less

  • Okay, sure. Bring all troops home from overseas. Increase security at home. Create incentives for international cooperation to break up terrorist cells in ways that are compatible with the values underpinning our constitution, close the Guantanamo Bay camp and release everyone for whom there's no evidence for criminal activity...

  • We must take the high road. We must take the road the founders took. They refused to execute or otherwise mistreat British prisoners of war during the revolutionary war. Yet, the British would have hanged the entire American leadership. The high road served us well as underdogs and it'll serve us well now.

  • So, to sum up, take away the incentives for terrorism, by bringing all troops home and not trying to violently interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, use the savings to increase security at home and provide incentives for cooperation around the world, increase free trade, so less developed countries can grow, take the moral high ground and disavow torture, suspension of habeus corpus, etc.,

  • That was tried with Clinton and we got 911. By surrendering Iraq and Afghanistan back to the terrorist will give them more self confidence and demoralize all the civilized nations. We need to duplicate our successful operations in the southern Philippines and Algeria and use that knowledge in Iraq to defeat the fascist elements of Islam.

  • No it wasn't. We still had troops in S. Korea, Japan, Europe, and the middle east, Iraq in particular was boxed in with the US contolling 80% of its airspace, Clinton tried to attack al Quaeda in Afghanistan and Sudan, Clinton tried to negotiate a peace with Arafat that did not include right of return for most Palestinians (hence, doomed to fail)... Clinton was a disaster.

  • In many ways, Clinton did the exact opposite of what should be done in response to a growing terrorist conspiracy. Bush has gone further in those wrong directions. There is no military solution to terrorism. If this conspiracy really does exist in 60+ countries, hwo do you expect to deal with that militarily? More importantly, can you give me even one example of a terrorist problem that was solve militarily?

  • Some liberals might not like this, but I also recommend eliminating income and capital gains taxes in order to decrease the incentives for otherwise honest people to hide money in the international banking system. We should continue to make the international banking system more transparent.

  • Legalizing all drugs would help rob the Taliban of revenue. Finding alternatives to oil and/or putting demand side policies into effect would help deprive terrorists, Iran, Russia, and Venezuela of money. Our oil consumption supports terrorism and two-bit despots all over the world.

  • Algeria in the 90's

  • The terror threat is way overblown in some ways.

  • tell taht to Richard Peral

  • BTW, cant you tell this guy is lying? I can!

  • Listen, i which all the best to the people in Israel and the Palestinians. But i think you should get ride of your leaders if you want peace. They are warmongers and have no real interest in peace. They have bigger ambition for Israel and their plan require more violence.

  • watch?v=EYI7JXGqd0o

    Best video ever.

WMD lies straight from the horses' asses.

This is what the media isn't showing you. How "liberal" is this media? Hmmm.

  • The Liberal media is a myth.

  • who is this mother f**ker?

  • he is a former Reagan administration official who got his start working under Richard Perle. Looks like he was part of PNAC(project for a new American century). One of those scumbag who lied to the US to get them involve in Iraq. A fucking liar!

Probably an other AIPAC pro Israeli Jew who pushed for that war. grrrrr!

  • Your white hood is showing

  • What a fucking liar!

  • Thank you Neville Chamberlain

What were 500 tons of yellow cake uranium, enough to make 132 nukes, from Niger still doing at the nuclear research center of Al-Tuwaitha in Iraq when American tanks rolled into Bagdhad?

  • Don't believe that crap! Saddam has never been a threat to the US. It would have been suicidal to threat the US.

    Use your head a little.

  • You may enjoy the rape rooms and the mass graves but I don't. Saddam was giving massive support to terrorism and was bribing politicians in any country, including GB and USA, to get the restrictions lifted.

  • That's a lie.

  • Then why blame the Jews? or, is the goose steping giving you flat feet

  • Maybe because the Bush neocon agenda was basically written by the guys from The project for a new American century(PNAC) when were a majority of Jews.

  • So, you really do believe its all the Jews fault. How is that little mustache coming along?

Next time come up with an argument that can hold water and not have to side with the KKK and Nazis

  • LOL... Good one! I have no moustache BTW. ;)

Actually there three forces at work here. #1 International bankers #2 MIC the military industrialize complex and #3 AIPAC.

So i hope you see that I'm a fair guy. :)

  • Then come up with evidence that disproves his arguments. That Saddam still had WMD's, supporting terrorists and the other 16 reasons that the Dems voted for the war.

  • Anyone with a brain know that the WMDs installation were the first target of the golf war and that the 10 years of sanction that followed made it impossible for him to rebuild.

It you whop has to prove he was supporting terrorist BTW.

  • with 500 WMD's found so far, see Dulfer report, and 500 tones of Yellow Cake at the nuclear research center of Al-Tuwaitha have not been proven wrong.

The Oil for Food had more holes in it than swiss cheese. The money Saddam was getting was used to crupt politicians, Gorge Gallay, in every country that had a say in lifting the sanctions.

$25,000 to every suicide boomers family that killed Jews

  • $25,000 dollar going to the family proves nothing. It could have been was probably a gesture from Saddam for what the family was going threw.

The USwanted to go in for the war and because of the preasure from the Israeli lobby and the MIC lobby. Saddam was not anywhere close to be a threat to the US. It would have been completely foolish of him to threat the US as he had no where close the fire power the US had.

    Please get real!

  • Then please show evidence that they the Dulfer report is false and no WMD's have been found in Iraq since the invasinon and the terrorist were not using three camps--in Samarra, Ramadi, and Salman Pak

  • I don't have to prove anything. Everything that came out of these guys mouth was a lie. You prove me it was true.

And again, only an idiot would believe Saddam was a threat! Get real!

  • So you have nothing to support your claim execpt blame the Jews. I will belive the troups that found the WMD's and and the Marine captain that lead the forces that took the camp at Salman Pak and he confirmed that alQueada had been using the camp.

  • lol.. It's a well know fact that Saddam hated terrorist. And you think I'm going to trust the military? Ha! Ha!

And i don't blame the Jews. Remember when i wrote this?:

''Actually there three forces at work here. #1 International bankers #2 MIC the military industrialize complex and #3 AIPAC.''

There's a difference between Jews and the Israeli lobby.

  • Can't prove a negative. Try again.

  • Iraq had an official website in the late 90s and into 2003. On that website were the transcripts of Saddam's speeches. I read quite a few of these and found several instances deep within these long, rambling speeches where he called on anybody who was capable of killing Americans to do so by any means possible.

  • The only time that Clinton went after the terrorist was when he was caught with his fly open

  • hahahahahah! Hussein Kamel told UN/CIA/MI6 8-.22-1995 he destroyed all wmd's 1991 - and those USA and UK nazi governments killed 1,7 million people...

  • Search "Al Gore Iraq 1992." From your hero's mouth to your liberal ears. What does this make him? A "Neo-Lib."

  • How dare you use facts when arguing with a liberal? That's hitting below the belt. They admire algore michael moore and al franken..the concept of facts is foreign to these morons. If one of their idols wins the White House in 08, God help us all.

  • haha, i just got done watching that policy speech, what an arrogant bastard to have the nerve to say that about bush senior and still bitch when bush junior follows that speech almost word for word

  • Everyone thought Sadaam had WMD and he did because he used them. There is a video on here showing Al Gore criticizing the first President Bush for not taking out Sadaam because of WMD's. Search for Al Gore and Iraq and you'll find it. Look for a young Al Gore. Of course now this wacko is saying just the opposite. You people just continue to ignore the facts because of the lying media and Democrats.

  • War is not the solution...unless you're a Democrat. Seriously, how many Democrats said the same thing? If Bush led, so did Reid, Pelosi, Berger, and Clinton!

  • This guy is a Devil!

  • The neocons don't matter any more. We proved that in November. They don't listen to us, so why should we bother listening to them. They're wrong, they've lost, they're out. Period.

  • It goes in cycles my friend. The Democrats will screw up and piss people off and be thrown out of power eventualy. It's just a matter of time.

  • The Democrats are acting like sheep, so they've already pissed off their base. Ron Paul for president!

  • Kabul, the way the Dems are acting, I won't be surprised if you're right. The only thing going for the Dems is the Republicans.

  • Congress's approval ratings are even lower than the President's. Gee, it only took 6 years of the liberal media hammering the GOP to turn the public against Republicans. Yet in a few months Democrats have pissed off voters with their policies. I can't wait to take back Congress and keep the White House in '08. Fred Thompson!

  • This thing should be tried for inciting hatred and spreading NEO- CON agenda of hatred

  • It is not a crime to promote hatred. Perhaps you should read the constitution.

  • Well that explains it, I was wondering why the staffer at the perfume counter shouted "Death to America" before hitting me with the Chanel No. 5
