  • rubble rubble, rubble ME!!!

  • I hate the new "cute" hamburglar. Bring back the scary, hideous Uglo-American Hamburglar! And Grimace is now a thick-lipped manitee???!!!

  • I never knew Taco Bell was around in the 80s lol

  • @Romeofud It's been around since the 60's.

  • @Romeofud Me Neither

  • Happy Halloween!!!!!

  • McDonald's is much better than my mother's cooking. That is not a good thing.

  • Wow, Jane and her daughter Maureen look so much alike! I've seen pictures of Maureen from her lifetime, and I've only seen Jane as a young star, but I've never seen her in her 60's, so this is very interesting.

  • If they brought the old McDonald's gang back I'd go back and eat there.

  • @Mavericker7 Me 2

  • Snuggle bear is eviiiil.. EVIIILLLLLL, I tell you you!

  • @dudeofpow456 OMG!

  • It's a shame they don't air the Garfiled holiday specials anymore...

  • @liteskinnededgal RIP Garfield Specials

  • I think my mom still has the MCDonalds pumpkins from those happy meals!

  • @mintdeer I Don't

  • Jane Wyman doing essentially a "Just Say No" ad. I've always wondered if she spent the 80s wishing she could have been First Lady.

I never got that "At least I got my hair done" gag from the McNuggets commercial when I was a kid. I bet I'm not the only one whose head that went over.

USC would beat Stanford 10-0 the next day, but neither team made the Rose Bowl. Arizona State would be the Pac-10's representative that season.

  • @MeInTX I think the white streak in her hair was caused by mayo exploding which made her look more the part... I really don't know :v

  • McDonald is catering more for the northeast ghetto's with mickey d's

    why mess with success?

the wizard after the show was canceled the little guy killed himself....r.i.p

where do you get the ring tone for the CBS presentation?

  • I was only 2 when these commercials came out lol

  • i used to think the snuggles bear was a show, and i had all of the mckie d's halloween buckets and went trick or treating with em..back then all tv shows had halloween episodes !!!

  • The snuggle bear scared the piss outta me.

  • Wow.. the beef in Taco Bell burritos suuure doesn't look like that anymore..

  • i miss these commercials..

  • Why the hell does Grimace look like a woman?

  • Holy crap!! I remember watching that commercial!! The 43 sec one with Ronald McDonald and the vampire chicken nugget!!!

  • Wow so pepsi and mc donalds were HUGE in the 80's ?

  • @SillyLilly123987 yup and there still huge today or at least mcdonalds

  • @SillyLilly123987 Pepsi might have been especially huge in the '80s due to the New Coke disaster, hehe.

  • "It's a good time for the great taste of McDonald's! - I'd love to meet the marketing genius who pitched that one!

  • You know what? My brother looks like old school Pee-Wee Herman. Of course, I'd never tell him that.

  • I was only 3-4 years old when that McDonald's commercial came out, but somehow I remember it.

  • who's the announcer at 3:47 ?

  • You never see grimace anymore... :(

  • 1:49 I love these Snuggies commercials!Did anyone else see one recently on TV besides me?

  • Snuggies are those bizarre blanket contraptions that look like cultist robes. You're thinking of Snuggle.

And yes, they've aired commercials recently with a CG snuggle bear...and I died a little bit inside when I saw it.

  • Oops typing error

  • @danceractress96 I have a snuggie

  • haha me too:)

  • I love the chicken mcnuggets. I wish they still had the little dolls.

  • the best thing about the 80's....

    no insurance commercials...

Gieko, safe auto, the general, esurance, all state, state farm... they spam those every day now.

  • And Geico commericals aren't even remotely funny. I swear, there should be a law about people who think they're funny but aren't.

  • I love that CBS Special bumper!

  • haha!! muppet shakes!! Omyyyyy

  • pee wees playhouse looks trippey

  • THe McDonalds halloween Buckets WERE THE BEST!!!! I lived for them!!

  • re: the Snuggle bear, my mom actually called in to complain about the commercial for that video game Battletanx that parodied him in the late '90s, and i think they pulled it off the air soon after that (but because a lot more people than just my mother complained about it). why don't they snuggle bear anymore?

  • snuiggle is still around but he is all CG animtaed looking..it;s awful..

  • you know Mike these bear commercials have been around as long as you and I both have been alive

  • 3:37 erie,that actress that said "I'm gonna die",really did die,her stalker killed her.

  • I totally remember when McDonalds had the little plastic Chicken McNuggets toys in those Halloween costumes....I had about 5 of them LOL

  • I got one of the pails every year for a long time, shame they dont do that anymore. And Pee Wee's playhouse!! I loved that show lol

  • I also have a stuffed Snuggle bear from when I was little

  • I've seen Japanese Snuggle Commercials where it's called "Fua Fua"

  • Ah... McDonalds. LOL

They don't show Ronald, the McBurglar, and the rest. Back then they were cute and fun for us kids, today's kids would see them as dorky and stupid!

MadTV made a hilarious parody of the Snuggle Bear, LOL! A teddy bear for fabric softner, yeah..... only in the 80s. LOL, today it's like, "Yeah I just put the damn liquid in and forget, because I don't have time to be sensually seduced by the soft laundry. While my kids are sexting with their iPhone!" LOL

  • The only one left is Ronald. They seem to have phased out the others... even Grimace.

  • The Snuggles bear is so adorable!

  • "Now that you're watching your bodies more," LOL!

  • Is that Russi Taylor as the Snuggle Bear?

  • No.

  • they really couldn't think of a better slogan for Campbell's?

  • @kittymow321 Lol, I know! Campbell's soup is good food doesn't really pop does it?

  • Hey! I still have one of those Halloween pails; the McPunk'n one!

  • me too (well it's my sister's)! i also have one of those glow in the dark trick or treat bags they gave out a few years later with frankenstein on it.

  • WTH ever happened to Ronald McDonald and all those other characters? They never have them anymore. Now all they've got are stupid commercials with that ghetto slogan "I'm lovin' it." I wish they'd get a better slogan already. I've had enough of "I'm lovin' it."

  • I think they're unofficially discontinued. The wikipedia article about the McDonaldland characters says that in 2007 McDonald's agreed to no longer advertise to children under 12 to combat childhood obesity.

Look, childhood obesity sucks, but sucking all the fun out of life isn't the solution to it.

And I couldn't agree more with you about "I'm Lovin' It".

  • Man that is sad. The characters were great and they don't make excellent commercials like those from the 80's and early 90's.

  • @GokuMcDuck That is true.

  • I believe what happened is that the FCC relaxed its rules about advertising to children in 1982/83, and thusly we have all those kid-oriented commercials and thinly disguised 1/2 hour toy ads called cartoons of the mid/late 80's.

  • that doesn't have anything to do with McDonald's.

  • Actually it does, because that is why the McD's started advertising to kids in the early/mid 80's.

  • Ronald is the only one still around and he does like sports activities and such now.

  • Stupid PCness. I think childhood obesity is wrong, but holding up boy band members and ghetto crack whore pop princesses is just equally as bad.

  • @Muggle423 The mascots for both MacDonalds and Burger King are gone. Btw I'm now defending ghettoness or anything but such slang really is more common among rednecks. Just sayin'

  • @UltraComboer The "I'm Lovin' It" campaign was specifically designed to appeal to the "urban" market. The song itself was performed by Justin Timberlake and released as a single, and IMO the style of the commercials themselves was heavily influenced by "8 Mile". It's possibly the most transparent example of targeted demographic marketing I've ever seen.

  • @Muggle423 Well Said. McDonald's Should Bring Back Either "It's A Good Time For The Great Of McDonald's"; "McDonald's And You"; "Nobody Can Do It Like McDonald's Can"; Or "Did Somebody Say McDonald's" Those Were My Favorite Slogans. These Are Way Better Than "I'm Lovin' It"

  • @francis43123 Long Live McDonald's!!!!!

  • Anybody ever have the Snuggle Bear doll?

  • and yeah, weird lame looking grimmace suit..

  • is grimmace a eggplant or what ive never figured it out.

  • lol i don't think we're ever ment to know

  • Did anyone notice how big the fries were in the McDonald's part of that Garfield bumper?

  • I had all 3 of those collectors pumpkins from mcdonalds

  • ditto!

  • i remember when they had the chicken mcnuggets with there costumes in the happy meals, but thats also when you would get cookies too

  • lol i remember that too!.. they were so cute those mcnuggets

  • You do the world and internet a great service archiving all of these commercials. Thank you a million times over... again.

  • amen

  • McDonalds ALWAYS makes me hungry every day, from the past to the present. I love that cool restaurant! I even love its history, too! Since Ronald hasn't been chenged since the 80s! ;-)

  • Love the old McDonaldland commercials and characters, shame we'll never see them again in anything new. REALLY weird Grimace suit in that last one though.

Ah~ that wonderful CBS Special bumper. I'll Never grow tired of seeing that.

  • Sounds like Charlie Adler as Hamburglar.

  • Yep! I caught that too. Good ear!

  • And I was just gonna pin point that when I heard too ^_^. Also, was that Martin Sheen V.O.-ing in the Pepsi commercial?

  • Yeah, that was definitely Martin Sheen. He was also the one who said "Choice of a New Generation" in a bunch of Pepsi ads. I remember it used to creep me out as a kid, since I associated his voice with Apocalypse Now - something I saw way too early.

  • "Don't touch Grimace!"

  • RIP Jane Wyman 1917-2007

  • I have a vivid memory of the snuggle bear commercial when i was up visiting my grandfather. My cousin saw it come on the TV and she started laughing uncontrollably... i'll never forget it it was hysterical!

  • 0:17 One of my most fond memories of commercials was this one! Thank you for digging it up! I was 3 years old and still have a strong memory of that time, my brother was born in January. McDonalds needs to get out of the Corporate Fog, and get back down to earth, everything now feels so drab and boring.

  • "It's the bear show!"

  • :'( i miss those mcdonald commercials, they were fun and awesome! XD also wtf happened to grimmis these days :(

  • I doubt any kid would fill their pumpkin with carrots especially in the 80's!

  • You'd be surprised. I was an 80s child, and carrots were one of my faves. As soon as McD's cames out with salads, I was delighted.

  • Garfield's Halloween Adventure scared me when I was young.

    I never had a McDonald's Halloween pails.
