i love this song, it's not the best version i've heard, but it was their last heavyish song, these guys got me started on alternative music, i've been a loyal fan since '95, but young modern is alittle too progressive for me, what can i say i'm getting narrow minded in my old age

I like every album except Young Modern, just way too boring. He's a genius songwriter, guitarist, and performer not to mention he has an amazing drummer behind him and a bassist that can hold his own. Just wish he'd make songs that I could get pumped up or really in to like before. Doesn't even have to be songs like those on Frogstomp or Diorama, it could be songs like One Way Mule, Emotion Sickness, Without You, Paint Pastel Princess, Do You Feel the Same, or Steam Will Rise, all amazing songs.

that's how it goes for me if anyone still cares. although, it's interesting. i consider Diorama a better album than Neon Ballroom and it's definitely a more inspiring, well written album. but when it comes to just wanting to hear the chair, nothing beats NB. oh and so apparently if i don't like YM, i'm not a true fan... and i thought i was listening to them because i liked the music, not through some obligation to the band.

I would put Young Modern in second after Diorama. I hated it at first but after really listening I fell in love with it!

Actually yeah, been listening to it quite a lot... its not bad at all...

I love the album... but there is just this 1 thing why i prefer others... this one lacks of feeling... daniel wanted it to be more of a "dance to" album... and he didnt put as much feeling in the singing... but it is a very good album too ;)

1. Frogstomp. first one I bought and I still dig every track to this day.

2. Freak Show. Some songs are like Frogstomp but heavier, Others are softer. Nice mix.

3. Neon Ballroom. Not far behind Freak show. I dig every track on this album. Very experiemental. Might be my #2. Depends on my mood.

4. Diorama. Has a few good tracks but I can't listen to the entire album the whole way through.

5. Young Modern. Dont have it. Quite frankly, dont want it. I like Straight Lines but that's bout it.

They all have wonderful elements. Diorama just tears me up. For Silverchair fans who haven't seen, look up "Emotion Sickness" live in Sao Paulo. It will probably give you shivers. Their art moves me.

Diorama - all of the songs are equally good, IMO their best album so far, great lyrics, great music, magical atmosphere, very coherent

Neon Ballroom - Emotion Sickness, Paint Pastel Princess - masterpieces, maybe their most heartfelt record + it has a special personal quality for me

Freak Show, Frogstomp - classic Silverchair, if it wasn't for FS+F, I wouldn't have discovered them

4. Young Modern - it's ok but it's not for me...maybe just for now
