I don't like sweeping generalizations. The impression here is that all conventional medicine, even that which has been directed by rigorous science, is a farce. On the other hand, people need to understand that the terms "holistic", "homeopath" and "naturopath" have mirky definitions and are about as useful as the term "natural". They can offer some beneficial therapies, but the evidence for many, not all, of their claims is weak.

1.Heart disease: 616,067
2.Cancer: 562,875
3.Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 135,952
4.Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 127,920

He's right. All the way. 'Conventional' medicine has a place but, it has become the dominant medical model. It's not all bad. But, it's not the Only Way.

This is because mainstream scientifically tested medicine for the most part WORKS.Resources dwindling and costs going up the Insurance companies will only PAY for treatments that are proven to be valid and work.He wants a level playing field but this can't happen.Modern science has moved way beyond things like Rieki and homeopathy.Most want treatments that get them better.You still have the choice.

this sweetclaire06 keeps posting propaganda. modern medicine has not proven to be valid by scientific testing. that's the fraud. they've moved away from all modalities that work and instead provide products and services that disempower individuals (ever try to show a doctor or nurse some research that contradicts what they want to do?) and causes those in the priviledge-chain (docs, nurses, pharma, hospital, etc) to be enriched at the expense of the sufferahs. FRAUD.

well, I don't know about 'bad' as that is a judgment and I leave all judgment to His Imperial Majesty. yes, my beliefs are with a small minority of people. just as the founders of this 'free' nation were also the smallest of minorities. I don't think all mainstream medicine is bad. nor do I believe that all who work in it are "bad". BUT, I do KNOW that it is not very effective yet represented as the end-all for health care. which is a LIE. Those who continue the lie are liars.

I don't like sweeping generalizations. The impression here is that all conventional medicine, even that which has been directed by rigorous science, is a farce. This is absurd, but there is some truth to what is being said. On the other hand, people need to understand that the terms "holistic", "homeopath" and "naturopath" have mirky definitions and are about as useful as the term "natural". They can offer some beneficial therapies, but the evidence for many, not all, of their claims is weak.

I have raised my two daughters (18 & 19) without going to medical doctors. Even though my own brother is a medical doctor, I instinctively knew or realized that I needed to go with my intuition and use my common sense!!!!

As Claire mentioned, vaccines have extinct many devastating diseases, surgeries have saved many lives, pills have allowed many people with disease to live normal lives.

@7LBurna7 IMO the Anti Vaxers are the most dangerous. The reason they will probably get away with NOT vaccinating their children is because of all the responsible parents who DO vaccinate! We've had an entire generation without a Polio epidemic or an Measles outbreak.My own father died from Polio during the 1950's epidemic.People were.afraid to go out in public places.Babies can get Pertussis from other children who haven't been vaccinated.Babies can easily die from this.Vaccines save lives!

Otherwise they wouldn't be required by law to this day though some will argue its just some big conspiracy theory. The anti-vac crowd often finds themselves spreading their propaganda without opposition as those who support vaccines don't go searching for this kind of stuff. I think its important to attempt to limit the amount of false info being spread

You are so right.I was surprised by the people on here claiming that vaccines were doing everything from causing sterility to death and autisim. There are enzymes in raw milk that actually cure and prohibit illness, why do you think baby animals drink milk. there is a vid on youtube about a kid who had his allergies cured by drinking raw milk. try to find it

@rui27marne just think about it. dairy milk is designed for calfs just as human milk is designed for humans. Besides this, there is no other animal in nature who sucks their parents teet to get milk past a certain age in nature, not to mention a different species' milk...such as humans do with cows.
