well lions kill cheetahs and leopards all the time (usually cubs), truly for no reason since the other two cats are no threat to lions and usually have different prey, so when I watch this I think "whatever". At least in the case of hyenas vs. lions, they are truly evenly matched and dangerous to eachother.

The Hyeana 9/10 times fights all 3 Lioness's and gets away. This is pay back. She was moving too you can see her head was on the right hand side of the video at the start then at the end her head is on the left hand side so I would say she is pregenant and possibly close to labour or something because she can move.

would love to know what was wrong this lioness here, don't buy the pregnent female story.. why? throughout this clip, albeit a very brief clip there is no movement from the lioness's hind legs which to me indicates a broken back..? fell from a tree stealing leopard kill or took a bad hit from a buffalo or even a male lion killing her cubs.. we will never know but biting twigs, no lower body motion at any stage.. surely her back was broken? looked too healthy to be diseased? @PangeaSpreads I quite agree with you, there certainly wasn't any sign of movement from the Lioness' back legs. I would have expected the Lion to move around a great deal more, and not just sit in one spot. Oddly enough when I saw her twig biting, I instantly thought that she might possibly have rabies? Again, an odd behaviour to see whilst being eaten. I'm not entirely sure though, it's difficult to judge from this video.
@Kittywhiskers1000 Ya i think its one of these cases, for the case of rabies, tb or some fly caried disease in an ngorongoro doc I watched recently where due to heavy hunting and resulting inbreeding created a very weak strain of lion resulting in a lioness death similar to this where the the lion was 90% dead anyway (disease). In this case (bad vid) I guessed a broken back because throughout this short clip the lioness never once moved bellow her mid and at 0:43 she tried hard to? not skinny?
I cant say much for either species, the hyenas and lions are both extremely territorial and quite frankly the species combined just leads to one of them getting killed. The fact that the tables were turned around in this video are apparent, yet there are more videos of lions killing hyenas then hyenas killing lions. The lions are much more brutal and less methodical about their kills simply because of their strength and size. Hyenas have to be methodical or else it wouldn't be a fair fight.

hell my 68lb Bully has killed and eaten over 5 cats in the past year. he has a very high prey drive bred into this breed and some other terriers over ALOT of yrs. if i can get to the cat first and scare it away i do but there's not much i can do when i'm not around.and some people say"oh poor lioness while biting into their steak !!

It's not about one being better than the other, since both use numbers to kill. While we all like lions because they are more "noble" in a sense, lol. Hyena's are quite deadly and have been known to scare off lionesses by themselves alone.

Are plants any different than animals? Because animals developed nervous systems? Circulatory systems? What about those animals who eat plankton?

Hyena's have a voracious appetite with a vicious bite and carry a lot of deadly bacteria in their mouth that would infect as soon as they draw blood.
Here, the hyena's were hungry and saw an injured lion and it was nature that took over.

@Cenon2007 They have killed healthy Lionesses before, it's nothing new. In my opinion they ( 10+ Hyenas ) could kill a lone Male Lion if they wanted to. The only reason they haven't ( atleast to my knowledge ) killed males, is because they never gang up on them like they do the Lionesses. Im confident that a groupd of Hyenas could take a male Lion down, 2 or 3 would die but they could get it done.

1 Hyena cant stand against any Lion.... but Hyenas are not solitary, they are almost always in packs of up to 80 members per clan.... no way in hell any Lion can withstand such brutal force of even 2-4 agressive determined Hyenas of around 190-200 lbs with the strongest Jaws of any land animal.... a Spotted Hyena can break an elephantbone like a toothpiece, what makes you think a Lion can withstand such bites over and over considering it cant control that many Hyenas at once?

So sick of people saying if the lion was healthy she would have killed all the Hyenas. NO WAY. Watch more videos of 2 or 3 Lioness's attackin 1 Hyena. The Hyeana 9/10 times fights all 3 Lioness's and gets away. This is pay back. She was moving too you can see her head was on the right hand side of the video at the start then at the end her head is on the left hand side so I would say she is pregenant and possibly close to labour or something because she can move.

would love to know what was wrong this lioness here, don't buy the pregnent female story.. why? throughout this clip, albeit a very brief clip there is no movement from the lioness's hind legs which to me indicates a broken back..? fell from a tree stealing leopard kill or took a bad hit from a buffalo or even a male lion killing her cubs.. we will never know but biting twigs, no lower body motion at any stage.. surely her back was broken? looked too healthy to be diseased? @PangeaSpreads I quite agree with you, there certainly wasn't any sign of movement from the Lioness' back legs. I would have expected the Lion to move around a great deal more, and not just sit in one spot. Oddly enough when I saw her twig biting, I instantly thought that she might possibly have rabies? Again, an odd behaviour to see whilst being eaten. I'm not entirely sure though, it's difficult to judge from this video.

@Kittywhiskers1000 Ya i think its one of these cases, for the case of rabies, tb or some fly caried disease in an ngorongoro doc I watched recently where due to heavy hunting and resulting inbreeding created a very weak strain of lion resulting in a lioness death similar to this where the the lion was 90% dead anyway (disease). In this case (bad vid) I guessed a broken back because throughout this short clip the lioness never once moved bellow her mid and at 0:43 she tried hard to? not skinny?

I cant say much for either species, the hyenas and lions are both extremely territorial and quite frankly the species combined just leads to one of them getting killed. The fact that the tables were turned around in this video are apparent, yet there are more videos of lions killing hyenas then hyenas killing lions. The lions are much more brutal and less methodical about their kills simply because of their strength and size. Hyenas have to be methodical or else it wouldn't be a fair fight.
