This is probably the greatest Mario Kart. Tag-teams, lots of characters, unique karts, items that don't drastically change your place, creative tracks (race and battle,) well thought-out multiplayer, and the graphics (in a way) aged well.

I know this sounds stupid but what's the whole difference between speed vs. acceleration? I've used karts with higher acceleration and karts with higher speed but noticed nothing different.

@fountainherz Acceleration is how fast you are when you you start. Bad acceleration means it going to take a few seconds for it to get really fast.

Acceleration is how long it takes to reach your top speed, faster acceleration means you speed up faster so you reach your top speed faster, slow acceleration means it will take longer to speed up

ty, but when I was riding on a straightway, I noticed the speeds for all carts I used in 150cc reached 55mph, except the pirahna plant pipes, which maxed out at about 49. I compared a kart with high speed and low speed and the results were the same. Acceleration is definitely noticeable, though.
