I don't understand why people are trying to compare slipknot and opeth. they are 2 drastically different types of music. it would be like comparing botston and van halen, both of whom are phenomenal yet they are completely different. opeth is a melodical, almost orchestral type of music while slipknot on the other hand is an in your face and even sometimes "rap" style of metal. they are 2 polar opposites and anyone who thinks it is possible to compare the two is simply ignorant.

I agree, I think joey is a very good drummer. He was one of the few "nu-metal" drummers doing anything interesting. truly a great drummer to get people interested in the true power of drumming for alot of young people and old people alike.

Slipknot gets some bad press for the masks and stuff, but at their core they are a great band with an enviable track record. Songs like "the nameless" truly show how interesting and powerful they can be. not just loud and angry for the sake of it.
