  • Bird owning MJ once again

  • 2:34 Jordan Tebowing?

  • I've never seen a player with the finesse of bird. He doesn't look smooth, but man, when he shoots, its pure poetry. I love the way, in his rare misses, so often he gets his own rebound and either seems to preternaturally now where the assist will be, or know where to take the next shot. The guy is a master.

  • a bald NBA player with a full beard playing...you don't see that everyday.

  • zomg jordan travelling so much, so overrated, travel by palming ball and mvoing both feet, thats a fukin travel

  • reminds me of someone...

  • No porkfrog is right. The celtics had better team chemistry and were used to each other. Jordan basically carried the bulls to where they are now. Without mike, I dont think the bulls would have ever win a championship. The celtics were and still are a team made up of veterans who know the game and have had the experience. The bulls didn't stand a chance.

  • Michael Jordan represents everything that is wrong with basketball. Flashy, overpaid, sell out.

  • scoring 48 who cares? just gunner gunning shots!

  • eery jordan move built around foot switchign travls, swithcing pivot foot

  • 642 hack on jordan not called

  • being gunner is not impressive, especailly when travel and hack so much and not called

  • jordan also took way more shots and way less assistts

  • 330 offensive foul on jordan or no call NBA became wak when this bullhsit stated being called now we hav joker liek kobe made by ref even more than mj

  • @FavreianVengeance Lol really??? Birds record against jordan doesnt mean he's better. Basketball is a team sport you dumbass. Remember during the 80s the bulls were a one man team that centered around jordan all the time thats why they failed to beat teams like lakers, celtics, and pistons

  • Jordan's all-time record vs. Bird: 0-6. They say if you want to be the best, you got to beat the best. Bird was the best, Jordan was not the best.

  • {C}

Early in MJ's career, it is fair to say Bird was better-but not on the basis of team performance

Bird was a tremendously well-rounded player as well as being utterly spectacular, passing and shooting both. Just brilliant. One of the dumbest myths in sports is that Bird was 'not very athletic' because he couldn't run and jump like MJ and others. Dude was unbelievably slick while he ruthlessly killed your team

  • @FavreianVengeance 'Jordan's all-time record vs. Bird: 0-6.' no, its 11-23-BOSTON won 23 of 34 meetings against THE BULLS it's a team game look at the beginning of this vid at the team line-ups Chicago: G: Jordan G:S Colter C:Granville Waierts F:Charles Oakley F:Earl Cureton BOSTON-hell you know the names...is Cureton better than McHale? Is Waiters better than Parrish? And who the fuck is S Colter? It's a team game, one guy's team was obviously better {C}
  • @PorkFrog

None of that matters. If Jordan was as dominant as people claim, Bird wouldn't have swept Jordan's ass out of the playoffs both times. And so you know, the last series, McHale was playing on a bad will and he was out for the clincher. In his rookie year, Bird took his team from 29 wins to 61 wins. In Jordan's rookie year, he took the Bulls from 32 wins to 38. In college, Bird took a bunch of nobodies to the Final. Jordan was merely a role player practically. The proof's there bro.

  • @FavreianVengeance bulls 1987 through 1992 vs boston celtics jordan 40 point average against the celtics owned

w 105 100 jordan 1988 1989 scores 38 shits on celtic teams because he was born to do it

  • @FavreianVengeance w 120 100 jordan 1990 1991 scores 42 to larry’s pathetic 23. 23 takes his usual bathroom break on bird brain bird hick loser ass

w 129 99 jordan 1990 1991 scores 39 to larry’s pathetic 12 fuckin points lmfao. 23 kicks some green and white ass as usual. get the fuck lost with bird shit bird

w 113 132 jordan 1991 1992 scores 44 to larry’s patheitc 30 what was that hick bitch thinking trying to outscore his master?

  • W 121 99 jordan1991 1992 scores 14 to bird’s 8 well at least jordan didn’t spit on larry for his usual 40

w 119 85 jordan 1991 1992 scores 32 to larry’s pathetic 10 jordan now plays with bird like a cat plays with a mouse before it devours it lmfao bitch whore motherfucker

  • @FavreianVengeance

Larry crushed by the sixers in 79 80 in the conf finals 4 to 1 lmao

Larry won his first NBA title against a fuckin below 500 team in the Houston rockets in 80 81 lmao fuckin garbage

Larry 81 82 got beat in the conf finals by dr j once again didn’t even make the finals lmao fuckin garbage

  • Larry 82 83 got smoked in the conf semi finals by the bucks 4 /0 lmao what happened to the greatest ball player this time did his back fuckin hurt

Larry smoked by the lakers in 86 87 4 to 2 lmao I guess he could beat an above 500 team

Larry stomped by the pistons in the conf finals in 87 88 4 to 2

  • Larry 88 89 a bullshit win total with hall of famers on his team 42 and 40 fuckin trash made the playoffs and got swept by the pistons in the conf finals lmao fuckin garbage

Larry 89 90 got punked by the fuckin knicks who had a 45 win season lmao in the first round no less fuckin choker

  • @FavreianVengeance Larry 90 91 got spanked in the semi finals by the pistons 4 to 2 couldn’t even get out the second round with hall of famers on his team garbage

Larry 91 92 smacked around by the cavs like the bitches they were. So all in all Larry could only beat a below 500 Houston team for his first title then he got lucky two years later and beat the lakers then he beats a shit Houston team for his last title. His career is utter garbage he beat no one for his titles but the lakers.

  • @FavreianVengeance • From "When The Game Was Ours" (Jackie Macmullan) --

Knowing he had witnessed the next marquee star, Bird felt even more urgency to seize another title while the Celtics were young and healthy.

  • Jordan didn't yet have the complementary pieces he needed to contend for a championship, but it was clear to Bird that it was only a matter of time before he would.

"Early on, people were saying Michael didn't have a team mentality," Bird said. "That was because he didn't have a team."

  • @waff1eirontmacsplat

Bird never said that. Youre making that up. And even if he did, I'm sure he was saying it tongue and cheek. Michael Jordan's ball hogging costing him early in his career is well document. People say Bird had the pieces. Really? DJ was a slow undersized PG. Ainge was the 'proverbial slow white guy.' Parrish's sucked before playing with Bird. McHale developed under Bird and may not have ever been 'great' w/o him. Bird turned his teammates into Hall Of Famers. Jordan didn't.

  • @FavreianVengeance Dennis Johnson = a fuckin 19 point scorer and finals MVP with Seattle, McHale = arguably the greatest power forward ever, parish = a scorer with the warriors before he joined bird. Walton = a fuckin champion and finals MVP before he joined bird with the blazers.

  • @FavreianVengeance Jordan = played with Scottie pippen who shot worst than him piece of shit. Jordan = played with players who couldn't average 25 points per game if their lives depended on it. Bird played with four players who shot the ball better than he did fuckin moron.

  • @FavreianVengeance who was guarding bird in the three point shooting contest? that's right nobdoy fuckin retard. therefore the three points shooting contest = irrelevant. bird = is not the best shooter/three point shooter in nba history either by field goal percentage or makes you fuckin whore.

  • @FavreianVengeance therefore bird = overrated as a shooter. bird = shot 20 percent from three point distance for four years straight. bird = a lower field goal percentage than jordan in both the regular season, playoffs and finals.bird = a trash shooter compared to jordan.

  • @waff1eirontmacsplat I'm gonna guess that you're black?

  • the 85 86 Celtics shot as a team 51 percent for the season, on that team were 5 players who shot better than Larry bird, who is often times looked at as the best player on the team, which is a bunch of shit. Larry shot the ball for 49 percent and took 20 shots per game, which meant he missed a little less than half of his shot attempts.

  • The best percentage shooters on the team that year were Kevin McHale who shot 57 percent Robert parish who shot 54 percent Danny angle who shot 50 percent bill Walton who shot 56 percent and a fuckin bench player named Jerry Sichting who shot 57 percent. That’s a lot of efficiency on one team and isn’t it something that bitch ass Larry bird isn’t among those players.

  • Yet he attempted more shots than anyone on the team, and missed more than the top players on the team, all of the top three players on the team scored about as much as Larry taking less shots than him, which would qualify bird as a fuckin ball hog. So it looks like bird wasn’t even the best player on his team and wasn’t the reason why they won the championship that year, he just tagged along for the ride, like the coattail rider he was.

  • 48 points and still lost.. just shows you how garbage jordans team was

  • bird had a kid with an american they devorced and then bird a kid with an irish women and that irish women saved some sperm and did it with a german and then u have dirk nowivskitrtytfjhi or what ever his name is

  • dirk is a reencarnacion of larry bird

  • This was the single greatest passing team of the 80's, and better than any team I saw in the 70's or 90's. The 2000's+ have been a sad joke, outside of the '04 Pistons and '08 Celtics. Far too many of you 20-somethings seem to think Pippen came in during the 90-91 season, and the Bulls instanty started winning titles. WRONG! Look it up, 1987-88. Again, it wasn't until the truly great teams of the 80's faded that Chicago could win. & Pippen was crap from 3 & free throw range for years. Study it!

  • Wtf did this guy mean "a slightly better supporting cast"?! How about 4 HOFers?! How about also a former all-star in Wedman, one of the best pure shooter in Ainge, and the best backup point guard in Sichting? What a neomaxizundweebie!

  • @exile103 Scottie, Rodman, Horace will/are in the HOF too. But one thing, Larry's style of play made everyone else better. So, it could be argued that since MJ was not as much of an accomplished passer that we didn't see as much of the potential bulls could bring. Who's more effective...when Bird could score at will just like MJ(with more range 3pt %), pass, rebound, FT shooter, more blocks...steals mj has that. Hmmm?

  • @exile103 In '80 when Bird arrived the celtics(without the 4HOFers you spoke of) took a team from being 2nd to last place in the NBA to NO.1. As to your argument of effectiveness...MJ never did anything remotely that huge.

  • @usnate1 Bird still had Parish, Tiny Archibald and Pistol Pete during the rookie season. A much better lineup than what Jordan had during his rookie season. Not to take anything away from Bird though; his accomplishments during his rookie season is still amazing.

  • @Secrectus Right, but he was still more impressive to me at least than MJ. I liked watching bird and magic more than MJ personally. The bulls had to adjust to jordan, get exact pieces in order to for them to win. Thats a big reason why it took 7 years; Mike couldn't play with traditional PG's.

  • Bird was so much more dominant that Jordan. # straight Mvps last player to do so in the REGULAR SEASON. walking triple double. Jordan wished he could pass like him

  • 06:58 did i just hear john madden? or was it frank caliendo?

  • Sorry but jordan has always been better than bird

  • @dpistons149 Bird swept Jordan 2x.

  • @kantwu That doesnt change what i think

  • @kantwu jordan by himself vs bird and a hall of fame team. no wonder bird swept him, jordan still pulled out two 3 peats and could bird do that.

  • @dstylegamer15 Bird put his team in the HoF, but Jordan jockers would never understand the simple concept of team play.

  • @kantwu that's true but jordan was a one man team until pippen went to the bulls and he stilled manged to drop 63 points on the celtics and take on bird as a simple task, but one man can't do it all ,plus as i said jordan got two 3peats with and only had pippen helping him out , where bird had his hof of team and couldn't 3 peat once. plus being able to score more than 30+ a game please he has won 10 nba scoring titles and 6 nba titles , defensive player of the year ,etc.

  • @dstylegamer15 ... Are you incoherent to the English language and cannot or simply refuse to comprehend my words?

  • @kantwu jordan is better than bird one on one, bird just had the better team and thats why he swept jordans bulls twice, i bet if the bulls had pippen and rodman, the celtics wouldn't be sweeping anything

  • @dstylegamer15 Lord help you.

  • @dstylegamer15 You're comparing to different styles of player. It comes down to preference. Bird could score 40 a night b/c he did over and over, he averaged 50% career (same as MJ) 24.3ppg Bird, MJ 30.1ppg and they were both the leading scorers on their teams...Bird adjusted better than MJ in order to win. MJ had to have the ball to make things happen. Bird adjusts to the team; the bulls adjusted to MJThats why it took him 7 seasons to get a ring...AFTER Bird and Magic were geriatric old men.

  • @usnate1 was it Jordan's fault he is younger than both bird and magic, and have in mind magic took on bird and beaten him a couple times and being that magic complimented by calling him the best, and didn't Jordan have an average of 37pts a game

  • @dstylegamer15 No its not a matter of being his fault. Its a matter of having the best way to gauge who's the best. If you don't have something to measure him against. I'm aware of MJ's scoring ability. I'm just saying basketball is 5 on 5, and NOBODY (who knows anything about b-ball) would say that MJ was better than Bird or Magic when it came to doing more things on the floor. And running a clean offense. The rules started changing for MJ to sell tickets. FT attempts a game MJ = 8 , Bird = 4.

  • @dstylegamer15 CONTD: Keep the FT attempts in perspective for a sec...Bird was always getting beaten up when he went up to rebound, & they didn't call it the same way in his day as they did in MJ's day. Not to mention Bird and MJ are = in terms of offensive efficiency at 50%. If bird got the calls mj did, then he would've averaged 29ppg GUARANTEED. See my point?Basketball I.Q. Nobody beat larry at that..He was more dangerous in manys' opinion for that, b/c he could do it all above average.

  • @usnate1 ok but jordan also got beat up when he faced the pistons and fouls weren't being counted he still managed to score, their was body contact in Jordan era not like today's were everything is a foul.

  • @dstylegamer15 Oh I agree. The 90's was tougher and better than now. BUT the 80's was even tougher and better than that. Bird got assaulted just as much as mj, but Stern became commissioner and invented the protect the superstar criteria. MJ is one of the greatest, but he was also commercialized. Some players have a "prettier" style. Bird's style was blood and guts, his jumper was pretty, thats it. But that has nothing to do with effectiveness. I'd take MJ over anybody, except Bird or Magic.

  • @usnate1 i guess your right, but in my opinion jordan is the best, bird is a great shooter and player, magic a great passer and player, jordan a great scorer and player i would pick jordan because he can score at will and is guaranteed to score 30+ for me

  • @dstylegamer15 The 63 points is a misnomer. First of all, McHale NEVER fouled him. It gives credence to the claim that the league wanted the series to be stretched out. Jordan was a HUGE fan draw. Getting swept by Boston was a yawn to the avg. passive fan (I HATE them!). Boston still prevailed, cuz they were clearly the superior team.

  • @dstylegamer15 Jordan only won AFTER the Celtics, Lakers and Pistons teams got old and/or broke up. Jordan NEVER even sniffed a title before. Only after expansion and the great teams of the 80's had passed did Jordan win anything. If you're gonna go on about MJ, then tell me why he never won in the 80's. I mean, he had several years. Hell, the 2002 Kings would've beat the '92 Blazers or '96 Sonics. Jordan NEVER faced a great center in any finals. He did in the 80's & ended up with a goose egg.

  • @exile103 jordan won titles in in 1991-1993 against Wilkins, Ewing, drexler, miller, Barkley, Thomas nba legends and from 1996-98 when Kobe, iverson, garnett, Nash, Kidd, Jefferson, shaq were all young he went against players that were younger and still came out champion and scoring leader, don't give me that bird and magic dominated the 80's Jordan singly dominated the 90's they were in different eras bird was drafted 6 yrs earlier and magic 5yrs and by that time already had their teams set.

  • @dstylegamer15 When Bird and Magic were in their primes, Jordan wasn't close to any titles. That much is fact. When the Pistons were young and at full strength, Jordan couldn't win a title. He had to wait his turn until the kings of the 1980's began to fade.

  • @exile103 Well put. That fact is the big one that Jordan-worshipers don't want to acknowledge. The 1989-90 Bulls were no better than the 1990-91 Bulls; the difference was that the Pistons were fading due to age and injury. Then expansion in the mid-1990's thinned things out. Great point about the center, too. In the Bulls' title runs they faced Vlade Divac, Kevin Duckworth, Mark West, Ervin Johnson, and Greg Ostertag--not exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to NBA centers.

  • michael jordan 39 points per game sickkkkk

  • 7:48 I think one of the players on the Chicago bench got traded after Bird hit that shot

  • It's called acting. And people get paid to do it, even Magic and Bird. They can't stand Jordan. Not many people can. Nobody likes a crybaby. NOT EVEN YOU JEDI!

  • Yeah... "Jordan" didn't develop yet... oh that's right.... Bird and Magic were fucking tearing shit up rookie year winning championships..... yeah Jordan is fluke.

  • @zachoey79 Of course he's a fluke, that's why Bird and Magic speak so highly of him.

  • Larry had 28 at halftime.

  • jordan scored 48 points they def. shuld of won .. celtics had better defensive at the time compared to the bulls not includin jordan cause he was the best on that court

  • uh

    may

    zing

  • The only thing that modern bball beats old school at, is the shorts

  • @MikeNvS not really the shorts mighta been kinda short but look at todays players with all the ridiculous shit they wear like hex pad sleeves, finger sleeves, leg sleeves and all that other shit that makes no mater when you're actually playing basketball

  • Jordan wasn't the best player in the world yet in this video. His game continued to evolve and mature in the next few seasons then ... WAMMO!!! Becomes what is known in modern day as "MJ". Synonymous with greatest player ever.

  • MJ WAS GREAT, BUT TH EBULLS DIDNT WIN ANYTHING UNTIL PIPPEN ARRIVED!

  • bulls were like yea we're gonna win but larry bird says no

  • if bird had a good team they could off won jordens beast

  • 1:19 larry bird cant jump…but he really can!!yessss!

  • Great video. Jordan is amazing, so difficult to guard and for me the greatest player ever to play the game. That said there is something truly beautiful about Larry Birds jump shot. Mesmerising. I think the hair helps...

  • Larry Bird always looked like he had way too much time to shoot asif he were always in practice and rarely rushed a jump shot but what I like most about the 80's and early 90's, without growing up watching it live, but compared to today no tattoos no stupid sleeve bands no bling no dumbass hair styles no wack players with over inflated ego's just straight up basketball IQ and talent. The best wanted to prove themselves against the best and not with them and top players stayed loyal

  • @chunkz1187 I completely agree with you. It is one of the reasons why I dont really watch NBA nowadays...freaking gangstas vs gansgstas

  • @chunkz1187 Thank you so much for yourintelligent comment, and also all the people who gave it a thumbs up, it makes me happy to know others out there still GET IT

  • I totally agree (chunkz1187) wicked reply!

  • @chunkz1187 My man what you dont understand is that was how times were back than. We live in 2011 my man. Morals are not what they once were.

  • Lol and you forget the Celtics had K mchale L bird R perish? Wtf do you mean put themselves against the best? The 80 Celtics were the best theyd beat the heat right now cause they had better players. Get your head out of your ass please

  • @jimmybonez1985 What are you talkin about you dumbass Bird and McHale were drafted by the Celtics and Parish was traded in 1980

  • @chunkz1187 No dumbass hairstyles? Did you see Bird's mullet? lol

  • @jimmychauv lmao, word!

  • @chunkz1187 A sleeve keeps your shooting hand warm you idiot

  • @MsFuckduck You're probably one of those idiots like 90% of athletes who think those bracelets actually work.

  • @chunkz1187 It's called a powerband loser. Please don't even try to wet when back in the day you could wear necklaces when you play. Hahahah wtf is that?

  • @MsFuckduck Whatever the fuck they're they've been proven to be bullshit, don't work and you and the other idiots think they do. I don't even know what the rest of your comment even means.

  • @chunkz1187 I said don't wet which means don't insult. Then I said they used to wear necklaces back then. How official is that? Can you know comprehend? Also, the sleeve keeps your arm warm like I said. Iverson first started wearing it because it helped his elbow tremendously you idiot.

  • @MsFuckduck Sorry, it's just that in my country we use words in their correct context.

  • @chunkz1187 Your hamburger eating, raping little girls, murdering people American ass should've understood the first time.

  • @chunkz1187 . Bird = played with hall of fame frontline players. Jordan = played with a player he turned into a hall of fame player. Bird = trash cunt. Bird = couldn’t win without home court advantage in the playoffs and finals. Jordan = won without home court advantage in the finals twice and, he won five playoff series without home court advantage

  • . Bird = lost to teams with worst records than him. Jordan = never lost to a team with a worst record than him. Jordan = owns bird. Bird = never won another championships past his 30s Jordan = won four championships past his 30s. You = failed. You = spat on. You = a fuckin toilet bowl. Ps bird did give that quote piece of shit. He was fuckin scared of Jordan with a team and it turned out he was right, read “when the game was ours” you = owned

  • @waff1eirontmacsplat You sound mad.

  • Bird finally misses a shot at 7:06 but immediately makes up for it with a sweet pass. Bird the best ever

  • I'm glad that I saw those matches live. and all i can say, basketball was a better game, as guys said more fundamental. Michael Jordan is (no argument) the Greatest player ever.but Bird was a beast too. we are very fortunate that both of those guys played basketball in the same Era.

  • Not only were the players better with higher IQ but the commentators were much better also. They focused on the game detail by detail. The only things today's commentators say is "give blah blah a lot of credit" and often go off on stupid tangents and make pointless remarks.

  • wtf is the big deal about these '80's players? now adays they're much more athletic.. no wonder Jordan raped... he was the only athletic one on the floor by far... much stronger game now

  • @midus320 the 80's players had way more basketball iq they all understood floor spacing, team denfense, what they were suppose to be the game was far more physica Michael Jordan was alot stronger than other guards to....... a old michael jordan also average 20 per game and a couple of scoring outburst with the wizards with ease..there is not one player in the game today that can fuck with him kobes the nearest but i dont want to go in to explaining why jordan better

  • @razorsharpandonpoint He don't understand

  • @midus320 Lol this kids a joke

  • bird wasnt covering jordan just sayin and jordan wasnt covering bird

  • bird wasnt covering jordan just sayin

  • Notice how Bird passes the Ball....Jordan forces every shot he scores.

    Thank god he had Pippen

  • @Defender80s Back in those years, Jordan's assist numbers were close to Lebron's. And his FG% was much better than Lebron's. So your comment is in error

  • @ThaLinguist I am talking about this game not his general season

  • @ThaLinguist yesssss thats the truth....he average 32.0 8.0,8.0 while shooting 53% thats crazy(i think this was the 88 season or 89)

  • @razorsharpandonpoint Yeah that was 88-89 season. Crazy numbers

  • @Defender80s

jordan forces every shot he scores? hahaha good one. that's called skill and creativity as well as athleticism all in one.

  • there are too many stars in the nba today for this to happen back then there werent that many on one team

  • Wow Skip Carey announcing basketball
