Keep an open mind people. What you don't know is what type of athelete she is. Is she a runner, Swimmer eg her training will be different as it is for every type of sport. Obviously she never trained using a cross trainer, but look at her she is very lean, Coss trainers will give you shape as well as a workout!
It's nice to hear the opinion of someone who 'exercises for a living', as opposed to someone who owns a gym - if you know what I mean. And she wasn't plugging any particular brand.

The olympian talking out of her arse.
CV exercise is CV exercise no matter on what piece of equipment you do it on. It's so easy to vary your heart rate on one of these machines.

@thealphascan Sorry for the late response - the music is a track from Shockwave Sounds called 'Hazey' by Dan Gautreau.

Fantastic! I've purchased a recumbent exercise bike.
Here are the reasons why:
- it occupies a much smaller footprint and is also MUCH shorter than a treadmill or an elliptical.
- to me a recumbent is the least impact workout (v/s a treadmill, elliptical or an upright bike)
- since my upper body is stationary while i pedal, I use a pair of 12 lbs dumbbells to get the additional workout for my arms & shoulders.
- my head is still stationary & so I can comfortably watch the news or a movie
