I love the ferocity Ben brought to the band. Fran complimented him well but, when Fran sings, or what ever arbitrary definition of singing you choose, your ears perk up. He delivers every word with his diaphragm, as if he's crying; bearing an emotion that contemporary singers seemed to have all but lost.

I think it is odd to say that he can't sing... because he clearly is singing. Besides which, if you are talking about the quality of his singing, I'd say that is entirely subjective, I personally find the level of emotion in his voice a beautiful addition to an already beautiful song. This isn't the kind of band you want to listen to if you want to hear perfect melodies, because this is pretty much dystopian music.
