i am able to get the videos to appear in my blog, my issue is that the views are not reflected on my youtube video on the youtube sight. is there a way to connect wordpress views back to the video home page without the person having to watch it on the youtube page? essentially does viewing on wordpress get applied as a view in youtube? thx
I'm pasting the code as instructed on the HTML tab. I've realized that if I make any changes to the page with a video on the VISUAL tab, the video code disappears. Whenever I place a video on a page, I leave it on the HTML tab. I don't remember this being a problem before WP upgrade, but it happens every time now.
NOTICE: This only works of the user that's posting the topic is an ADMIN, you can get the Kimili Flash Embed Plugin for authors that want to post a topic and embed Flash, there's some flaws with it though, cause after the video is embeded you can't have text, or images below it, but you can embed videos side by side. The text, and images HAST to be displayed above the video, or they won't show.
I was getting frustrated I couldn't add a vid to my blog I wasn't thinking and should have put on my logic hat but thanx to your vid it helped me out rofl just needed to have my editor on html but your old vid really needs to be deleted I watched that one first and wasted my time looking for those options pmsl
Thank you so much. After half an hour of struggling and searching the net, I have been able to use what you showed to embed video in my blog for the first time. Thank You!
You rock! I spent an hour searching for how to do this damn thing and I knew it was under my nose. I am a blogger user recently switched to wordpress which I love in blogger you just embed it changes it automatically even though there is a html tab. So thanks again for posting this easy vid to show us new users how to do this.
I followed your instructions and everything works just as you say until I hit preview. No video... I check back on the post and the video box on the visual side and embeded code on the HTML side is gone... Any advice would be much appreciated. Thx

I had a quick question for you. I noticed the green bar above your dash board. I'm assuming it allows you quick access to all of the functionality of your wordpress dashboard. Is that a plugin? How may I get it? and Do you recommend it? (I guess that's more than one quesiton lol)
I am using Wordpress 2.9.2. I do everything you say, when I click on visual it shows the yellow box etc, but when I save draft and then go to preview it, the video does not appear? Will it only appear when I publish?
That's right - it shows WHERE the video will be in your post, but to see the video you have to publish the post OR click on Preview to see how it looks before posting.
Actually I figured it out... Apparently there were setting where Author couldn't link a video, but Admin can. We got it worked out though. Thanks for the reply.
I've done every thing in this video and when I go to the preview post after I've embedded my videos, the videos are present there, but not when I publish my post.
I just created a free Wordpress blog, so I don't have a domain. This method does not work. In my editor screen, I see the flash box, but when I preview or publish -- no video to be seen. Is this because I am not hosted through a domain?
Thank you! I had embedded video on my blog before but it wasn't working this time. Your way is soooo much simpler than what I was doing! YAY to you!!

Doesn't work on 3.1, I tried both the old and new code.

You have to use the "use old embed code" option or it won't work.

Didn't work.
I use WP 3.0. I followed the instructions exactly as you laid them out. I see the yellow flash box when I go back to the visual tab.
When I hit publish, it disappears. Even the HTML code disappears if I try to edit.
jjrakman 1 year ago
@jjrakman Same thing is happening to me as well.
Even when I updated. Now on 3.05 and it is still doing the same thing.
The code just disappears from both views when I change tabs. It's getting incredibly frustrating. Tried in multiple browsers, same thing.

Is there any reason why I wouldn't have the box graphic in the Visual editor? I just get a URL when switching from the code in HTML mode...

I wonder why this isn't working for me. I've followed the directions to a "t". As soon as I press update/publish, it disappears. wp 2.9.2
