Rickenbackers are junk and customer support is non-existent. If you HAVE to have one, find a good luthier like you have, or better yet, learn how to work on them yourself. I've had 6 Ricks in 30 years and still own three, but my Fenders get played far more. Fenders are superior instruments in every way: Sound, playability, easy to maintain, and easy to repair.
@plotchickens actually it is correct either way..., though "Rickenbocker" would be the historically correct spelling. It was named after founder Adolph Rickenbacher, and the correct pronunciation is bock, just like Bach. They changed the spelling to an Americanized version after the first few years of production.
Right, all I'm saying is that customer service can suck sometimes, but look on the bright side - you've got a fuckin' nice guitar there. Play the thing. Smile. Be happy!
@BarryDennen12 Wow...are you retarded...I am a muscian...I buy guitars because I love them..How is anything in this vid a WHINEY BITCH....if you spent three thousand bucks on your X BOX and it didnt work..you would have concerns too....so even talking to you further is a WASTE ...watch the vids I have done with this guitar..and troll me some more....if you have nothing positve to say ...you are the gutless turd that you are..have fun dragging people into your MINOR exsistance
@BarryDennen12 Duh....that was the whole point of posting this ...YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SPECIAL ALLEN WRENCH TO ADJUST THE TRUSS RODS!!!! when dealing with Rickenbacker on the phone they were rude and not willing to help...hense the title you little little boy child.....now go back under your bridge
Just out of curiousity, why didn't you send your Ric back to Musician's Friend? They have a 45 day return policy. Also, for future reference, you can make a truss rod nut adjuster very easily. You may also want to try some Pyramid strings on your Ric, I think you'll really like them.
I have 6 Rics now, 3 of which I bought from Musician's Friend and have had no problems with any of them. Granted, once in awhile, a bad one does roll out of the factory and for the price, that shouldn't happen.
Hay yall supid peeps....watch the first two videos for yous comment..and go to cedbenson channel and see how great he is.......this is three....watch the first two...I aint stoopid hick he haw......actually FUCK YOU...if you cant follow a feed and have something good to say about a legit beef....you are what you deserve...Hey Im stupid..Look at me look at me......by the way I typed all of this to be funny...before some ass comments Im illerate..LOL....get a fukin LIFE
Why are you telling the world all your problems. It is what it is man, if you can't take care of a Rickenbacker, you shouldn't have one. Why are you making a fool of yourself, you don't use Earnie Ball strings on a Ric!!! And you tone of your voice is naueating.
you could've just adjusted the truss rod... its a very simple simple process, just use the hex wrench that it came with (if it came with one and tighten it up... it probably wasn't Rickenbacker... just transportation or temperature... its a beautiful guitar... i suggest getting it tuned up every 2 or 3 months (change strings, get the truss rod adjusted, intoneation checked, ect.)
Come on! Fire that bad boy up. your gonna love it through your AC30. I have the same axe but a 1989 model. I play it through an AC30 and it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Sorry about all your original problems, but its sorted now, and I hope you get many years of awesome tones out of that Jangle Monster. Take care.
