I never liked the original "Nightmare." At the time I was like mainstream cheesefest. And after viewing it again after seeing the remake i could barely make it through that wes craven turd. The new one kicks the old ones ass in so many ways. And again i am glad to know that i  disagree with these "horror" expert(LOL) twats and the rest of the mainstream. What these guys have done with their horror show is something like a wes craven movie. Great idea, but in their hands complete shit.A Shame.

Arn Anderson did the Shockmaster voice from what I heard. The boiler room was in the movie cuz that is where they chased him down and burned him alive. I thought the movie was pretty good but I like the low budget horror films better. Jackie did do a good job with his movements in this film. I will say this movie was better then I expected.

Yeah I just got back a while ago from seeing it myself. I'm glad they always felt the oddness of the "voice". Like it was out of place. Everytime Freddy spoke I felt like I was watching "Phonebooth". Anyone else get the Keefer Sutherland voice-over feeling

Well it wasn't completely horrible.. like other Bay films. Some good, mostly bad. I felt the Freddy scene were dull. Like right near the end he start using his powers more. The first half was just him popping up for a sec. then poof , Gone!

The director has this interesting technique for how he directs his films, he says ACTION, then he goes into the next room and jerks off hoping that when he returns, everything went well on one take. As for the writers, their method is to invert the keys on their keyboards and try to type backwards, while listening to the other NOES films. Man,isn't modern film making wonderful!

I dunno go see it if your a fan, that way you can say you've seen them all right. It's wasn't anything special to me I mean i didn't hate it I kinda liked that they showed the back story but that's been used too many times now in Horror remakes. Over all this movie only relied on loud pop ups for scares. If your a fan go see it if not wait for it to come to DVD/TV because it's nothing original or special.

Nice review, guys. Thanks for the shout out. I agree with you one hundred percent on this one. Platinum Dunes made no effort with the script and it shows on the screen. The movie was a mess and the only moments that even halfway work were the ones lifted from Craven's masterpiece and randomly dropped into this one. This was a huge wasted opportunity.

I keep hearing people say "this version of freddy is much darker". obviously they never saw nightmare 2 which is freddy at his darkest. Technicacly it isn't because the Chilld's play remake isn;t out yet and Hell Raiser and Leprachaun, and Wish master have yet to be remade yet. Pluse there was also another horror movie that spawned one 1 sequel that may have come back them. That who found a way to make your natural tendeses pain. It's called the Dentists It's about a guy like Orion from little but even worse. He actually kill his patients.

Of course you won't like remakes. You're adults now and were children when NOES came out born when Friday the 13th came out and not yet born when Halloween came out. I remember being a fan of Robert Englund's for 10 years after seeing him in Buster And Billie and when he did V i thought he was perfect for the friendly alien. When the original NOES came out I laughed when I found out He was playing a slasher. It would be like andy Dick playing Jigsaw.

Haha, Nirvana absoluted hated that director; they said they took all of their ideas that made the song what it was and made it flashy and mainstream (ie Kobain wanted ugly cheerleaders, he made them attractive for one). Once I saw Friday the 13th I knew exactly what this movie would be so I'm not really surprised, just a little disappointed.

Yeah, took a few "micronaps" during this one. Nancy was the worst part. Everything they actually tried to do differently, was an absolute joke. I think it is probably my least favorite of Platinum Dunes remakes. It's just too flat.

ANOES films were never meant to be serious and that's what they try to make with this movie. They're cashing in on all the other re-makes which turn campy films into straight Hollywood films and that's NOT why Freddy fans went out and watched these movies. Who is gonna be afraid of a realistic burn victim? I ended up pitying Freddy, but in a bad way and disliked most of the characters. The Glenn type dude survived and he was an okay character, but I wished they made him have a sick bloody death.
