I feel really bad for Star. It's hard for Dolphin to see past her love for her mam that she IS crazy. Star would of looked after Dolphin all the time but Dolphin was and still is to young to understand that. I really really feel for Star but I also feel bad for how poor Dolphin feels. I also feel sorry for Marigold. It's not her fault she's bipolar.

The fact that they called her by her first name like they would a friend highlights the fact that their mother doesn't actually act like a mother figure at all. It brings her to the same level, with Star even taking her role most times.

@MissNSFTH the fact that she didn't slap Marigold, even though she had the choice (and the right) signifies how much more mature Dolphin is than her own mother.

@DizzieWhizzie don't you get it? marigold is bi polar she can't help it its part of her mental illness. Plus remember this from the point of view of a child, who despite being surprisingly astute and mature for her age, is still a confused innocent child if this was told from marigold's perspective you'd probably see some emtoional logic/ reasons why she acts like that. Check out a show called next to normal its about a bi polar mum too her songs show how it feels to be bipolar etc.
