  • The description's wrong. In Turkey (which takes its secular constitution seriously), weddings generally take place at the town hall (no religious weddings). People can do what they want after, but its not official. What you stumbled upon was a reception. I have been to a couple of Turkish receptions, and they are lovely affairs, very family-centered. Nobody will get drunk and make a fool of themselves. I have the highest respect for their traditions. I'm not a Turk, but I'd recommend a visit!

  • TURKIYE IS THE BEST !!!!!!!!!

  • gelinde pis somurtmus, ne derdi varsa...

  • Turkish people are mixed population. There are many different people in our country. From North of Turkey,South, and east.

  • The girl do not look happy

  • ahh fuck why are people always fighting on whos the best or hottest or whateverthefuck...every culture/race/nationality/ethnicity/country has an awesome intresting traditions/music etc...youtube is fucking annoyiing with these type of comments...holy shit

  • @kaimkhani72.... In western parts, u cant see most of that stupidity. I know for sure as I saw with my own eyes that, in some very eastern, underdeveloped, very religious regions girls can NOT ride bikes or even boys are required to wear long sweat pants to go out to play sports, which is very ridicilous. But in western parts or lets say, developed parts, like Istanbul, u can see everything in extreme and very marginal level. So... different parts and VERY different mentailty in same country.

  • @kaimkhani72.... yeah but here is the twist. In Turkey in especially western regions, you can see that type of high level opf respect and understanding and treating the woemn like sisters a lot. and in Turkey seeing people sending their parents to old age homes is almost impossible. Its a more western societies thing. BUT the twist is in Turkey, the average level of education is low. and In some areas, public's prejudices and religion plays a big role.

  • it is same already.

  • turkish weddings are super weird

  • TURKIYE IS THE BEST !!!!!

  • @54Turkiye you're wright

  • not gived anything for girl((((

  • @kito9154

bcoz its only grooms family .. and it can be so hard to carry all those money and golds for the bride..

  • Just pay attention people. In some cases yes Turks kiss hands of the elder people to show respect. But in this video, the guy congradulating the groom in the very end and the bride barely looks at each other and doesnt even shake hands. In some regions men deal with ONLY men and women do same with ONLY women. I know its sicka nd stupid mentality in 2011 but its very commong uneducated societies like the one in Turkey. Its funny as in some regions like western parts, the mentality is VERY modern

  • @sydneyboi4fun You are talking about modern societies. The modern society is the one that respect each other and give due weightage to relationships and especially give tremendous respect to ladies and treat them like mothers and sisters. The societies where women are treated as mere tissue papers and instrument of lust can only be termed stone age gentiles whether east or west. In such societies where parents in old age when they desperately need attention and care are sent to Old age home

  • @karine1282 in Turkey you have to want to girl from her father.sometimes families dont wanna couple marriage then boys take the girls and escape untill their family agreed with them maybe escape but her father didnt forgive her.so her relatives didnt came that wedding for this reason.it can be like this :Pp

  • @TheMrKoray In my case my dad said yes..we engaged (by turkish customs), his family organized all... then 7 days after engagement his mom decided im not appropriate culturally (im not turkish, im bosnian) so she forced him (my ex fionce) to brake engagement..so he left me:T Can I steal him and run to bosnia:)??

  • Bundan utananlari kiniyorum...

Kardesim biz buyuz kültürümüz budur! Türkiyede dügünler hep böyle geçiyor.

  • gold is the main present at weddings.because gold is precious matter what

  • sprry but england is a mess of a country......turkey is a beautiful country full of respect for each other and everyone...england needs to take a leaft out of its book

  • yeah the girl looks like the happiest girl in the world.....

I didnt see her smile a single bit!

  • @rieltje1 I agree, that's ridiculous from her !

  • the bride donest look so happy lol

  • at the end of the wedding, visitors gave money, gold or presents to the new couple. it is a tradition. i saw these scene many times.

they look tired cus most of the time the weddings are so long. it is anatolian culture.

some families fan of europa or america dont care about these traditions. thats why they deny. what a pity!

  • turkey is asian, europe and turkey is really different even if they enjoy europe im turkish by myself and I think the europe is lame

  • they are not depressed, they are just tired, because this is gift -giving ceremony, and a gift-giving ceremony happens short before the end of the wedding,

  • merhaba! Nasilsiniz?

  • Sağol iyiyiz :P

  • well, being European is not always a great thing.Turkey has a more beautiful culture than many European countries.

  • There are sooo European!!!!

    TURKEY = EUROPE

  • we don't give a shit about europe my friend... it should be all yours...

  • bravo Gyotaturks

  • Ok, call me ignorant, but what exactly is everyone doing? Is what they put on the sash a way of saying "Here's my blessing"? Someone please explain :D

  • Ppl give money or gold at weddings for help some to form their home in Turkey;)

  • It's not that different from the western tradition actually. you know how the couple registers to a shop and you go and buy them presents they can use... In turkey, all the guests give some sort of gold piece to the couple, so that they can sell these pieces after the wedding and use the money to build their new home or maybe pay for the wedding. since all the guests come up to the couple one by one and give their gifts, it takes too long and i guess that's why they look so tired and miserable.

  • sanki zorla evlendiriyorlar gibi bir halleri var

  • That's showing respect for the Older people. That's something that you can't understand

  • and you are a devil

Hz. Muhammed bir hadisinde söyle buyuruyor: "Aslini inkar eden soysuzdur".
