Elena is supposed to be different the Katherine esp in the tv series having elena be with damon at least right now would go against that character. would be disappoointed in both of them since stefan sacrificed so much, so selfless!

So if that ever happens... it will have to be a really good reason, or in a way that would make you understand why she'd do it.
