me and my friend dave drove to this show from cedar falls ia, while we were waiting in line, these guys were doing a live radio show talking to everyone, they invited us to go for a quick ride, and we ended up toking up a lil with them in the car, all on the air, while they asked us questions about the drive and such. is was an excellent experience for my first 311 show of many.

Ya, but they manage to make it their own... eg... The album Transistor, Music and Glassroots albums make some of the most original songs I have heard. Really, peps dun like 311, becos they didnt explore 311's old skool albums. Those fan favourites are the true beauty of 311. My fav is always the Transistor album. U should listen to Rub A Dub and Stealing Happy Hours. Sublime sure wont do that.

Guitar riffs, the structure of a lot of their solos were taken from Sublime. But, Bradley did take a lot from Suicidal Tendencies, The Ramones, etc...

There really are not a whole of original bands left. Every guitar player is taking something from another, be it Dimebag Darrell, Kirk Hammett, Tony Iommi. I'm not saying there aren't good guitar players, but no one is really original anymore.
