This is a pretty amazing song. It serves every lyric with the Louis Armstrong original, but it has a completely different tone - while the original was contemplative and laid-back, this is happy and out-and-proud. The original was a waltz, this is a headbanger. And it works perfectly. It doesn't copy anything, and it makes its own of the song.

I wasn't aware that Ramone died of cancer a few weeks later. Knowing it now, I see that he wanted to leave us on a high note.
