  • 1:08- clunky writing? Welcome to modern-day comics.

  • I loved Age of Apocolypse

  • please objected to Grant Morrison killing Batman.

  • Age of Apokalips will totally confuse a new Xmen reader! Xavier's dead, Magneto's an underground hero, the Beast is a mad scientist, the Scott Summers' conflicted conscience plot was extremely forced...he should hunt down the Claremont/Byrne trades and the original Excalibur trade and then sample the new stuff, including Ultimate X-men IMO

  • lol at blue beetle at the end

    26 ~ 27 wtf XD

  • x-men legacy is the best read right now. in my opinion

  • Did they review Iron Man #28?

  • I lost a little respect for these guys. Avengers/Invaders is a good series. Not great. but I like it better than Final Crisis. Avengers/Invaders ties into and put's a different perspective on current series such as Captain America, and both avengers series

  • I disagree, I think its total crap.

  • i loved fabian nicieza's run on the x-men in the 90's. He also had an awesome run on cable and deadpool

  • IIM #2 was AWESOME! i <3 the ending

  • good job as usual guys. your right about avengers/invaders, the writing really does seem forced.

  • Inferno was the shiznit!

  • Does Ultimate X-Men not count, for some strange reason?

  • Hello what about the Mutant Massacre? Which is alot like what went on during the Messiah Complex.

  • Hi guy's..great show! Get a bigger table already! Pete does not have enough room!

  • ooooo....diss?

  • check out the x4 crossover comics

  • This was such a fun episode! God I love you guys so damn much...

  • I totally disagree with you about Invincible Iron Man. I bought the issue because I'm a big MODOK fan. But the whole MODOG battle was pretty uninspired. Iron Man blows up the missiles, grabs MODOG by the hair, and throws him into space. Yawn. And the whole rest of the book was basically just watching the movie all over again. I like movies based on comics (usually). But comics based on movies based on comics is pushing it.

  • I agree with Alex, the Australian era is when I jumped on board and it was fantastic. Silvestri's art was the best.

  • Those issues ruled! I especially liked the original Genosha story. Rick Leonardi had some nice looking issues in there as well.

  • haha that little part at the end was funny

  • Thx guys Its me Steven Tan.Wow I thought you guys reply to ppl by email but metioning me on the show feels good.Ive decided to get Astonishing X-men.THX for the info and keep up the great work!

  • If you can afford it, here's my X-collection: 1. New X-Men (Grant Morrison) 2. New Mutants v2 3. New X-Men: Academy X 4. House of M 5. X-23: Innocense Lost 6. X-23: Target X 7. New X-Men: Childhood's End 8. X-Men: Deadly Genesis 9. Uncanny X-Men: Rise and Fall of Shiar 10. Astonishing X-Men v3 11. X-Men: Emperor Vulcan 12. X-MEn: Messiah CompleX Afer Messian Complex, you can read any of the X-books really. I like the new X-Force. :)
  • You can't say "spoiler" and then nanoseconds later spoil. Give me a couple of seconds to skip ahead.

  • X-Tinction Agenda and X-Cutioner's Song are my faves.

If you're looking for a quick history of the X-Men pick up a reprint of Giant Sized X-Men #1, Dark Phoenix Saga Trade, X-Tinction Agenda Trade, E is for Extinction Trade, and the Messiah Complex trade (when it comes out).

All the Astonishing X-Men trades are excellent reads as well!

  • Days Of Future Past,God Loves,Man Kills,The Whole Phoenix Saga and also a very good short X-men story She Lies With Angels it's Romeo & Juliet type of story in the X-Men Universe I loved the story

  • I think 'God Loves,Man Kills' is the best x-men story of all time!

  • wheres the stack of comics?

  • If I had to start over I would read the Marvel Universe article on X-men then read:

    Phoenix Endsong

    Astonishing X-men

    X-men Blinded by The Light

    Messiah Complex

    then read backwards stuff

  • John Byrne's run, Romita Jr. and then Jim Lee.

  • man I'm done reading freaking secret invasion its gotten too dumn

  • yeah! yeah. yeah!

  • Antonshing X-Men!!!

  • I say pick up X-Factor, New X-Men and X-men from E Is for Extinction onwards

  • .....

  • Read whatever X-Men looks cool, just make sure to wiki around for a bit.

  • Ugh, between when the X-men "died" and when X-men #1 came out and everything was folded back with Xavier I hated the x-men. Inferno was just stupid.

    but it's all personal opinion

  • just wondering... they've reviewed comic book movies.. so why not video games? like the latest iron man video game.

  • Definitely Morrison's run, then they f'd it all up by retconning everything..

  • true that

  • After X-amining your X-amples I couldn't help but X-tract numerous failures. neXt time you to X-tricate more X-amples when engaing in hyperbole.

Like using the word hyperbole isn't X-act.

  • Age of Apocalypse, definitely, and new x-men is also a cool title, cant remember which run though, but the one prior to messiah complex, with mystique and iceman and lady mastermind and all. i enjoyed it.

  • nice...

  • The Dark Phoenix Saga, of course. Claremont, Byrne, and Austin. Great story; great art. It's collected in trade.

  • great show fellas
