  • i have the same red dot sight i love it :D

  • whats your favorite bigger caliber rifle for zombies?

  • @buckwheat40 7.62x39. As a character played by Samuel Jackson in the movie Jackie Brown once said. AK-47 when you got to kill absolutely every last MoFo in the room..They don't jam, they dont break, they dont quit and unlike the 5.56 the bullet is actually designed to kill "zombies" not prairie dogs like the 5.56

  • Hard to believe that Tacti-Cool Rifle is a .22 btw im guessing you'd use hollow points for a real emergency?

  • @timewaster6991 I only use copper plated hollowpoints. I do not shoot round nose or lead ammo out my rifles. In a SHTF or Katrina situation I pull out the CCI Stinger Fragmentation rounds, Mini Mags and Velociters.

  • How much would a rig like this cost?

  • @RedlegMedia Including the rifle it costs about 500 bucks.with tac light about 575

  • @shoktroop That is true

  • Great ideas with the spare parts, but id favor a carbine or shotgun on some sort

  • Post a list of everything you customized it with.

  • good survival gun but i would rather have a larger caliber rifle if i had to "deal" with people or anything bigger than a dog

  • @SamuelSavage777 It is wise to carry larger fire arms. But I can tell you this or sure. In a SHTF situation you shoot ANYBODY with a 22 they will not just walk it off. Now I would not fire a single round but a volly of rounds. Thats the blessings a 22 gives us. A 22 can fire and group most all of its shots withing a very small are VERY quickly. So I would double or tripple tap any person who would be dumb enough to try to hurt or kill my neighbors or my family.

  • @shoktroop no doubt, someone shot at me with a ruger 10/22 once and it was terrifying to say the least lol and i think i read somewhere there are more fatalities with .22s than any other caliber so i dont doubt the lethality its just you have to take body armor into consideration not that everyone would be carrying armor but if you do come accross a threat with armor and all you have is a .22 your out of luck PS for a while my home defense gun was a marlin model 75c .22 until i got my WASR 10/63

  • @shoktroop First thing I noticed in your response is you keep your neighbors in mind.....good man. BTW cool vid

  • TOO QUIET! wats the products specifics you have on this. I love the look. I hate how the Tapco adjustable stop tapers down from the pistol grip. let me know, and Id appreciate it.. you got my LIKE.

  • what is that tactical stock ???

  • A solid metal revolver has the best reliability rate, they almost never jam because of so few parts. Best back up

  • @jumbi100 Your correct sir. Depending on your caliber of weapon your limited to 5-12 rounds of ammo and it is VERY slow to reload. The modern semi auto rifles and hand guns are near fail proof. Take the Glock. It is an outstanding hand gun with near zero failures and outstanding reliability. I would take a quality modern semi auto over a revolver anyday. Fast mag changes, very fast shooting and accurate.

  • The only ting is if you run of of ammo, that gun is crap for melee. It would probably snap if used as a bat on a hard head. 2, i know 22 rounds are.can be deadly, but you would probably only be able to kill 10 walkers with 80 shots. Not enough stopping power brah. Go with a custom Winchester 30/30 and a glock or revolver

  • @jumbi100 If I run out of ammo and need to use this weapon as a melee weapon I dont think anybody is gonna shake off a buttstroke to the head or a jaw smash with the muzzle. I would be happy to take volunteers. There has to be some person out there who will test your theory and let me smash them in the melon with the butt end of my rifle. How did you come up with that math of 10 with 80? If I shot a walker in the melon with a 22 caliber hollow point it would put an end to his walkin days.

  • @shoktroop because the chance of you hitting head shots with a running horde at you is very low. You could drop one if you get him by surprise with one well aimed shot, but five or 6 running around, not going to happen. The .22 round will rarely kill someone with one hit to the torso, especially a walker. You need stopping power. A good 7.62 will drop them

  • @jumbi100 Your kidding me right? I am not tying to be disrespectful but head shots are not that hard. First off NOTHING on earth runs, jogs or sprints forever. Bipedal animals aka walkers wont run for long and it takes only a few times at moving head shots b4 one get the hang of timing a head shot. BTW take out a knee and a walker becomes a crawler even easier head shots. I will tell you what I tell all the kiddies. It isnt the caliber of the weapon as it is placing the shot correctly.

  • @shoktroop i agree with your last statement. But like i said, when they begin to over whelm you, you NEED stopping power and you need to lay down shots quickly, no time for timing and sharpshooting. and the caliber of the weapon can be vital in some situations, shot placement isnt always an option

  • @jumbi100 Ok lets talk about shooting bad guys instead of walkers cuz I think we are drifting off to fantasy land. I agree with the caliber and shot placement and this is what I preach to all. I will tell you from what I have seen with my own eyes. I have seen Iraqis hit with 7.62mm & 5.56mm weapons and kept running or crawing away. But when we hit them in the right place, Center chest, hips or head they dropped quickly. Should someone get shot in any of those areas with a 22 they wont be happy.

  • @shoktroop your right, that is because the speed of the bullet sometimes results in a quick pass through, which takes time for effect (bleedout). Yes, the .22 is known to bounce around which is good for stopping power and what not, but the fact remains, it is a extremely small bullet. So lets say someone is banging on your door and you want to put a few rounds through it, the .22 might have trouble passing through while a 7.62 or 5.56 would devastate. So i guess we are on the same page.

  • @shoktroop also since you brought up a war scenario (Iraq). remember that in a fire fight most enemies are behind some sort of cover, in a vehicle, or possible wearing a vest. In that case, a .22 is going to get you killed. That is why law enforcement and military around the world use higher calibers. Why do you think no law enforcement/ military uses the .22

  • @shoktroop agreed, and if you somehow miss, you can easily pop of another shot immediately, I've fired 22.s and they have almost no recoil what so ever and it is a very easy to handle weapon too, and dead accurate with that dot sight, good bye zombie face, or normal person face however you roll

  • @shoktroop the math to that 10 with 80 is a logical guess. Assuming most shots are torso hits, a .22 will take a good 4-5 shots at the least to drop a walker. Then let's say you hit a limb or miss 1 out of 8 shots, you can say it will take about 6 shots average to drop one. So yea 80 shots will probably only take out 10-15 fast movers

  • @jumbi100 a .22 to the head is just as lethal as any other weapon so im sure you could kill 80 walkers with 80 shot

  • If possible in your state, check out the new Ruger 25 round magazines. I ordered 4. Amazing.

  • also, how did you attach the factory mags to eachother????

  • how did you attach that "butt cuff" to the stock? where did you get it and what kind is it

  • 22LR 36gr 100rds = 0.70 lbs 22WMR 40gr 100rds= 0.90 lbs 9mm 115gr 100rds= 2.55 lbs 40 snw 180gr 100rds= 3.63 lbs 45 ACP 185gr 100rds= 4.05 lbs 45ACP 230gr 100rds= 4.62 lbs 38spl 130gr 100rds= 2.93 lbs 357mag 125gr 100rds= 3.08 lbs 44mag 250gr 100rds= 5.55 lbs 5.56mm 55gr 100rds= 2.51 lbs 7.62x39 122gr 100rds= 3.61 lbs 7.62x51 146gr 100rds= 5.43 lbs 20ga #3 buck 100rds= 8.77 lbs 12ga 00 buck 100rds= 9.59 lbs
  • @FromanMD A bullet in the brain is a bullet in the brain regardless of diameter and you can carry 1370rds of 22lr for the same weight as 100rds of 12ga.If you had a Ruger 1022, 10 mags and a dozen 100rd trays of CCI Stingers you could feed yourself for a year or more and in a pinch still have enough ammo to run off intruders. Nobody laughs off a bullet in the ass not even a 22lr.

  • @FromanMD Ya know I have to tell you, your last sentence made me laugh. Out of all the comments I get to see that one was as good as it gets. It is the purest form of truth you can get, really. People can talk all they want about bullet size. They can doubt the lethality of a 22lr bullet but what they will not do is volunteer to be shot by one nor would they want to be shot by one in the ass! And they really would not laugh off a shot in the ass! Epic comment. Thumbs up!

  • @shoktroop Thanks. I have plenty of high powered weapons (M4,FAL,AK,HK91) but none of them would really be suitable for a long term survival situation without the ability to resupply. Even the M4 with an extra 22lr upper still is nowhere near as cheap and reliable as the commonly available Ruger (I don't want to leave $2400 worth of M4 goodies in my car 24/7). Somehow I forgot my grandpa used to kill 800lb steers with a 22lr pistol, thanks for reminding me of how useful and viable a 22lr can be

  • @FromanMD Look at these 300 yard shots into 4in thick of raw meat wrapped in 8 layers of denim! /watch?v=xAkOzr6cDx0

  • I bet know one gets the Zombie Disinfo.. I will bet you most people dont know what the zombies really are. Or who they are? Do ya?

  • @adam3176 Your kidding me right? Do I look like the kinda of guy who actually believes the living dead will come to life? No. It makes GREAT movies but not reality. There are zombies all over the place walking along side us. We see them every day buying shit they dont need cuz some moron celebrity wears that brand. They believe the hype. They drive large trucks but never tow or 4x4 off road. They drive expensive cars that go fast when the speed limit is 70mph. Ya zombies do exist.

  • @adam3176 Lmao learn how to spell douche.

  • Nice video. I prefer fixed sights, no way possible those babies will malfunction

  • Why would you need a weapon for the Cathrina accident? i havent tried a storm or whatever it was, but i was just wondering why you would use a weapon for a storm?

  • @denmark9995 When the hurrican hit it was so devastating that people were left to fend for themselves. The US Gov failed to provide food and water. The police abandonded the people and lawlessness ruled the land. Rapes, murders by armed thugs were rapant. Police murdered innocent people and were unable to stop the criminals. The Luisiana suspended peoples rights to bear arms and the police confiscated legal owners guns leaving the criminals with weapons and innocent people to their doom.

  • @shoktroop It's amazing how many people don't know what happened during Katrina. Especially the case of the police and national guard going house to house and confiscating peoples guns without warrant. One of the primary reasons I started buying guns and getting in touch with local gun groups.

    Nice vid BTW.

  • Thanks for your videos Kenny. Quick question: I already own a 10 22 with a bull barrel from tactical innovations. I love it. Unfortunately, I put on a butler creek folding stock and modified it to fit the barrel. What kind of stock pouch is that and do you think it would be able to be fastened to my butler creek? Thanks in advance.

  • Oh wait...umm before I start let my remove my fuk wand out of halffast9 mom anus. Ok. Fuk ya with ur gay little gun ya hobbit

  • @Lexingtonprepdude Learn some sentence structure dumbass

  • Little pussy gub that is. Get you a mans gun. Oh yeah, zombies, lol been watchn to much walkn dead

  • @Lexingtonprepdude The whole "zombie apocalypse" thing is just an interesting way of representing a survival situation, and in the context of general survival it's hard to argue against the efficacy of the .22LR round.

  • Nicely put.

  • Who makes your 10/ 22 stock?

  • @munchichi8 Tapco makes this. It is called the T6 Intrafuse.

  • Its really long so it wouldnt be as effective in urban areas, but if z day comes id high tail it out to the country anyways

  • Id stick with the SKS. 308

  • @RhydinAwesome Uh .308 is 7.62x51 the sks is 7.62x39....unless all of a sudden the sks was made in 7.62x51(.308)

  • I like your comments on Ruger .22 cal, why you do not suggest cl. 233 as Ruger have for Zombie ?

  • I dont think if zombies come the law matters put a banana clip in it :)

  • man if zombies ever reach the south... there fucked...

  • I like using a crop duster filled with a highly contagious influenza / hemorrhagic fever virus. Then flying to Antarctica where my fortress of ineptitude is.

  • guns will get you killed in a zombie attack since they are attracted to noise and lights i'd rather use my bow and arrow plus the arrows are cheaper and more stocked than bullets and you dont need a lot of parts for repair but then again having a gun in a zombie attack is good for emergencies

  • @BLeSSeDoGkUSH420

    "plus the arrows are cheaper"

I can get 550 rounds of .22 for $15...where can you get that many arrows for $15?

Lets be honest, even tho a bow is silent, it has limited range, takes LOTS of training to use effectively, and you have to be physically fit to use it well.

I can pull my jeep up, roll down my window, let off 20 rounds, and roll off.

Can't really do that with a bow....

  • @Breakneckhydra1 can you reuse bullets? no can you make them? no and riding around in ur jeep? come on how the fuck are you gonna be doing drive bys when theres gonna be cars blocking all the roads and why would you even waste bullets and gas to shoot at some zombies when you can just leave silently its rednecks like you that will get killed first

  • whats the name of your mags for you 10/22

  • @IJAGERI They are two ruger mags connected together. See my video lineup on how to do it. :)

  • Nice gun, well thought out.

I personally like the SSS rounds. They carry a lot of thump out to 150 yards. Just shoot them plenty to learn the drop.

  • try a kidd buffer, its a steel pin covered with rubber great purchase.....

  • exact same things i have in my forgrip... nice....

  • Very nice setup! Only thing i would have done diferent was have more ammo.

  • I get ya. I'm searching for a donor gun now, and have a kit picked out for a"zombie gun".

Cant wait to see your new build.

  • I'd tried the SSS's in bolt guns, but heard they wouldn't stabilize in a 1022. Did you use a 1 in 9 barrel for yours? Man, great channel, and thanks gor the responses.

  • @GISELLE377 I have not had any problems with the bullet not stablizing. The shells do not eject sometimes but that is not a big deal for me. Just tilt the rifle to the right, pull back bolt and let the case fall out. let the bolt go and it will load another SSS round.

  • @GISELLE377 I have shot a few hundred of the SSS rounds and they function 100% in my 1022... They are SWEET.. And REALLY quiet..

  • One last question - What is the logic in using a 12 inch barrel with a five inch muzzle brake? Isn't a longer barrel better for round velocity?

Also, what would you consider a better round for self protection in a Zombie apocalypse a CCI Velocitor or a CCI Stinger or something else. I put a Volquartsen action in mine specifically so I could use Stingers. Have a great day!

  • @Zresponder There is no logic to me cutting the barrel to 12 inches then putting a brake on it. I did it because the ATF could have my ass in a sling for having a short barreled weapon. So I welded the brake on to comply with ATF laws. Get it.. No logic. ATF.. hahaha. I did it because it looks cool as hell and it is my bush gun. It is purely cosmetic. I like custom guns. YT if full of guys who think their gun is original but they are not. Break the mold and do custom things to your 10/22

  • Love the 1022s.Have you tried Aguila SSS ammo in long range shooting with them? Also, have you ever tried cutting a buffer out of a tire? Thanks for the video. A buddy and I were just speculating on 1022 zombie guns for fun. I subscribed right away!

  • @GISELLE377 The SSS aquila ammo if fantastic ammo. VERY accurate and hits very hard. It would be an excellent choice for close in suppressed sniping of.. whatever. Zombies, varmints, terrorist.. I would keep the range close within 100 yards give or take. I was shooting oranges off a tree at around 110 yards with that ammo. It is that accurate.

  • Why the fuck would u use a .22lr for zombies?

  • @linemann3 LOL. Good question and since your asked that I will not respond to it and give you an answer. The mere fact you actually asked that means you have no idea of what the .22 cal bullet is capable of. Sorry I am not trying to offend you. But clearly your not an active hunter or shooter. At 200 yards I could shoot a pack of cigarettes out of your hand with my Long range 1022.

  • @linemann3 you don't even known what the 22 caliber is capable of. Clearly you have no experience with weapons. And you play a lot of COD

  • Hello Shoktroop, I am new to guns. I like shooting .22lr but I have a question about the durability of the stock stainless steel 18 inch barrel. How many shots will it last before it looses accuracy?

Also, I just bought a used Mini 14 and it looks like its going to be fun to shoot when I get a chance. Would you say the Mini is as good a zombie gun as a 10/22? What upgrades would you recommend for both zombie and hunting needs?

  • @Zresponder Congrats on joining the Ruger family! Welcome to AMERICAN made firearms! Yes the Min14 is a GREAT zombie gun! I have a very old one and it is still running like a .. Ruger. Perfect! The stock barrel on 1022 will go about 30-50 thousand rounds easy. I have one that has over 70,000 rounds through it and its still good enough to kill rabbits at 75 yards with It is alot less accurate now but she still runs like a champ and barrels are CHEAP.

  • @shoktroop Thank you for your advise.

I also have a sig 522 that shoots any crappy .22lr as it were CCI Mini Mags. The stock end folds and locks into place. I picked it because I can hide in my Camelbak ruck sack.

My Kel-Tec Su 16 CA also fits nicely into my ruck sack. It is about a pound and a half lighter than my 10/22, shoots .223 and is using a Bushnell red dot.

Is there any other tactical gear you recommend other than a flash lights - Gloves, backpacks, knives, binoculars, etc..?

  • @Zresponder Part II Upgrades. On the Mini 14 I would put a Tapco stock with a fore grip on it as well as a good mil spec sling. I would keep the mini14s iron sites on forget a red dot. It is an emergency gun and you just want to aim and fire. But thats just me. Maybe put a spare mag pouch on the end of the gun just incase your needing extra ammo in a hurry. As far as ammo goes in .2223/5.56 use HOLLOW points or Poly tipped ammo! Do not use full metal jacket! You want to kill not pin hole enemy.

  • @Zresponder Part III Make sure you add a tactical light like the one on the Rat. You will need to see your enemy at night to put rounds on target. You can put a red dot on your rifle but make sure it is an eotech or aimpoint! My mini 14 breaks cheap red dots all the time. So it needs to be able to handle rough use and the recoil of the rifle. Just save up a little money and over a time you can afford an eotech/aimpoint. Well unless you got money. I had to save up. :)

  • What do you think about the two-piece buffer from Kidd that has a high durability plastic sheath around a hardened steel core?

  • @verdigo1 Thats a great idea and I made one be KIDD even thought about making theirs. Only problem is that plastic WILL degrade over time and it WILL fall apart in your rifle. Sooner or later you will have jamming issues and you will have to dissasemble your rifle when the plastic fails. It is a better part and lasts longer but unless you have to have a super stealth rifle and your shooting with a silencer I would just stick with steel bolt block. But thats just my opinion.

  • @shoktroop Yeah.. you would have bigger problems if the plastic starts coming apart. But wouldn't you be able to tell during normal cleanings whether it was getting too damaged? Having a couple replacements in your kit wouldn't be that hard. Not to mention, sound isn't the only factor. It also reduces recoil.... *snerk*. :P

  • @verdigo1 Yes you would be able to tell if you take your rifle apart everytime you shoot it. I do not. I field clean my weapons after a day of shooting Punch the bore, clean the carbon off the bolt face and extractor and thats about it. I detail clean my weapons every 2-3 thousand rounds. My Rugers are heavily used and I like to know what they can go through and what the mean rounds between failures are. Your right about the spare parts and keeping them on gun. I'm over the poly buffers 4 now.

  • @shoktroop where did you get the butt cuff

  • @1010trent It is a MarPat camo cell phone holder I got from the military surplus store for 5 bucks.

  • ANY .22 ********FUCK ruger 10/22, the official gun of mall ninjas everywhere

  • @asssface2000 Interesting comment from an interesting named account. And why is a 22 some sort of Mall Ninja bullet? Just want to get your "Expert" opinion since you are some sort of master weapons man. I would like to hear what ya got post on YT for all to see. Let me guess your the kinda guy who says bigger is better in the bullet dept right? We all should be walking around with 600 S&W pistols right? I would be able to shoot any enemy in either L or R eye at 225 yards and they would be dead..

  • @shoktroop no no no i LOVE the .22 and i am absolutley NOT a bigger is better guy. i believe the .22lr is THE go to gun for the zombie apocolypse. i just hate the RUGER 10/22 and its FANBOYS. for the money buy 2 mossberg plinksters and a shitload of mags and ammo. or any other .22. the 10/22 is an over rated mall ninja POS.

  • @shoktroop It's the mall ninja that doesn't understand the versitility and economy of the .22. People who live with their parents can blow all their money on guns and ammo - if you have one gun for survival a good .22 is second only to a good 12ga.

  • Only one problem. You will have to stick your knob at least a foot above cover to aim and fire it. I will stick with my bolt action mossberg.

  • @supressorgrid Ever hear of side shooting. Turn the rifle on its side an use the red dot or irons side ways. I hope you can reload that bolt gun REAL fast. There is a reason we dont fight with bolt guns. The Germans learned that the hard way when US GI's were able to fire their M1 Garands rounds faster than a bolt ever could. It is your life and your decision. I will rely on my semi autos. Thanks for the comment. Be safe out there and lets hope we never have to fight on our own soil.

  • @shoktroop Side shooting puts hot brass down your neck. For speed I use my 303 Enfield which in a mad minute is as fast as a semi auto.

  • what kind and brand of mag is that i havent seen one thats a duel mag

  • @GUNSDOTGOV It is two ruger mags connected by a mag coupler sold on brownells web site. Look at my video lineup and look for the mag coupler video. Will give you part numbers and how to do it.

  • ok. Yes.. if you have the training of the mossad, a silencer and someone to assassinate, they can be useful. The "car clicker" 22 is also a handy assassination tool I'd imagine, if on the offensive hunting the unsuspecting. A kitchen knife would also work in that situation, given knife training. Defensively, eh.. something else cheap. For defense 22lr FMJ only, high grain and load. Or go pcp rifle w/ flechette. I can get good groups and penetration with 22 pcp almost silently, cheaply.

  • great video awesome gun, if you dont mind me asking what stock is on that gun, and is that the original barrel

  • @GUNSDOTGOV It is a Tapco T6 stock and I had chopped the stock barrel down to 12.5 inches. With the muzzle brake welded on its total length is 17.5 inchs.

  • Also what ammo is best?

  • @TheRatboy09 Best for what application? Suppressed shooting I would go with CCI subsonics, For long range firepower in a heavy bullet I use CCI 40 grn Velociters for casual plinking I use Federal Bulk pack 550 copper plated hollow points. Good for plinking and casual rabbit/squirel shooting. For a good defensive round in 22 caliber I would use CCI Stinger fragmenting bullets. Its a fast light bullet that breaks up into 3 large pieces upon impact. VERY lethal bullet.

  • I have a savage 22. This is a vary specific question i know, would you recomend my savage mkii tr and a supressor or an ak74 pistol?

  • @TheRatboy09 I would go with the Savage MK II TR suppressed. An AK pistol would be ok but what the hell ya gonna do with it? The Savage is a great rifle, I have one and love it. I just dont have a suppressor cuz California banned them.

  • excuse me if its a dumb question, but how exactly did u butt the magazines together?

  • @79kaufman Never a dumb question. Look at my video lineup and find the mag coupler video. It will explain how to do it. :)

  • I have the Ruger Charger (10 inch bull barrel 10/22) with scope for this.

  • zombies? u've watched to many movies

  • @HypoNichts True about the movies but they are very real. I see them all the time driving their cars around malls and discount stores. Going to jobs they hate and having baby zomies who grow up to be self centered mutant brats who think only of themselves. Oh ya.. sure they dont exist.

  • @shoktroop you mean human beings?

  • @HypoNichts Yes I mean human beings. Zombie = Metaphor for people. They are one in the same. There are only a few of us humans beings left. The others have succumbed to greedy corporate ways only thinking of themselves. Willing to stop on the heads of others to gain a foot.

  • @shoktroop ahh ok. thats kinda funny. but a gun does not help u, cuz they are not attacking cuz they are to selfish to get their own hands dirty

  • its obvious why .22 is the best against zombies. you get a box of 550 thats a potential 550 zombie kills if you shoot them in the head.

  • Why would you put a muzzle break on a .22?

  • @MrRullestol The recoil is so powerful that it knocks me on the ground and bruises my shoulder. lol. It is a cosmetic thing. To seperate my Ruger from yours. I go beyond the bolt ons and do barrel chops and other things to create a unique Ruger.

  • I've been looking for a while online for a buttstock pouch for my factory synthetic 10/22 stock with no success. Do you or anyone have any suggestions? I found this cheek pad rest made by Matrix that has some mole webbing on it. I was thinking of buying a molle pouch and attaching it to that, only problem is I don't know if it would fit right and it would cost at least $40+. All input appreciated, thanks.

  • @emb876 Blackhawk BH-52BS16DE Buttstock Mag Pouch w/ Adj Lid

  • I realise that zombies are unrealistic... but to fit the theme... why would you ever put an electricity based sight on a gun when you're in a situation when you might never see electricity again. The usual theme behind zombies is that society is crumbling... and even the most reliable red-dot (or flashlight, for that matter) isn't reliable when the dot (or light) goes out.

  • @Marcownz747 Well said and your right. If I may take it one step further. Why have a gun? Guns jam, have moving parts that can break, etc. The reason you buy very reliable equipment is so when you have to use it it does not break, I have spare red dots of the same make and model as this one already zeroed in for this rifle. Say the red dot does go out I can point shoot very, very well. I have just finnished a new rifle and will post a video of it within a few days. It also has BUIS on it :)

  • @shoktroop I guess my point is more that, lets say it were a more permanent "zombie apocalypse/invasion". Electricity would be something of the past, and red-dots (of even the most reliable type) would run out of juice eventually. I hear what you're saying about guns, but if something breaks on a rifle, a replacement piece could last decades whereas a battery would last a year tops, and older batteries would be less and less effective. For a zombie apocalypse, I'd prefer a scope or iron sights.

  • @shoktroop can't wait to see your new build

  • How much does the muzzle break weigh in comparison to just the full length 18" barrel?

  • @Silent14389 The muzzle brake weighs alot. Not as much as the full length barrel. The rifle is very quick to get on target and track moving targets like rabbits n such. You do lose velocity and accuracy a bit but within 150 yards I can hit a rabbit sitting still.

  • you in california and they allow you to have all this?

  • @CHOSENMARINE All of what? Yes I live in the socialist state of California and for now we are allowed to have most of the guns the rest of the country gets to have. Most of them. The state does regulate our guns but the NRA keeps them at bay.

  • @shoktroop I live in california and I am thinking that it is time to become a gun owner. I am not too knowledgable about guns so I am curious what would it cost and what would I have to buy to have a weapon system like yours? I think I would add a bipod since I am not all that practiced with guns but beyond that, something just like your setup?

P.S. Do they sell 10/22's in that color or did you put that coat on yourself?

  • @Cookies205 Here is the rundown on this set up. Stock Ruger 10/22 with tax cost about 250 out the door. Tapco desert color stock is 90 bucks add another 10 bucks for the pistol grip. The red dot cost 95 bucks that would put you very close to this system with the exception of chopping the barrel which i do not recommend for a new shooter to do. So you talkinb about spending 450 bucks to have a very nice reliable 10/22. A cheap bipod would add another 50 bucks. so call it 500 all together.

  • You do know that zombies dont exsist right?

  • @Akatsukirocks14 You sure about that?! I see them every day. Sitting in cars stuck in traffic. Waiting in lines bitching about non sense. Living in apartments and houses that are 8 feet away from each other. So close you can see into your neighbors house. Driving police cars and shooting people who have a cell phone in thier hand claiming " i feared for my life" .. sure.. zombies are not real.. uh huh..

  • I'm sorry a 22. Caliber is not the way to go unless it's a hollow point but if this thing can break easily your better off with a 22. Hand gun I have 5 of them myself and I shoot them a lot and they rarely ever need new parts or jam up but if were you I would prefer an S.K.S. Or a A.K.47 with hollow point bullets idk if you can gets those anymore in the state of Illinois I got my hollow points a very long time ago

  • @kingchizel Shoktroop is a Marine. I don't think he needs you giving him advice. Why don't you watch his other videos and learn something, because you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

  • @kingchizel Chechen rebels using .22LRs defeated the Russian Army in the First Chechen War and fought them to a draw in the Second Chechen War. The Russians were so impressed with the effectives of the .22LR for short-range urban sniping, they developed the SV-99. The IDF also deploys a .22LR "sniper" rifle. A .22 round shatters when it hits bone, sending 4 or 5 high-speed "razor blades" through the target's body. Underestimate the .22LR at your peril. Light, cheap, and deadly.

  • Jeez ur a red neck if uu shott 6 thousand rounds in a month

  • @jimmyjo1998 well then I am a super red neck since I have shot over a million rounds of 22 out of my rugers withing the last 8 years. :) Can you be a red neck in california? I guess so..

  • Admiral Yamamoto DID say that, he believed it and our ability to defend ourselves was a factor in their planning. Conversely, our decision to drop the atomic bombs rather than invade Japan stemmed from not only the casualties we would suffer from the Japanese Army but also those caused by battalions of CIVILIAN men, women and CHILDREN they had formed up as "Home Defense Forces" intending to hurl themselves at our forces with SPEARS and ROCKS. We are free because we are armed.

  • would you recommend the Mueller APT or APV for the 10/22?

  • @TheCNoom Not a stock rifle. Meaning a plain jane 10/22. Yes it would work well but those optics, in my opinion are a bit expensive for just plinkin around. If you can afford it then yes. But just for pliking once in a while I would go with a cheaper simmons like the simmons 22 mag with target turrets. cost about 75 bucks and is a great scope. I have one.

  • Given that the .22 is a small caliber and also the fact that zombies probably don't feel pain (if they existed...or when they're going to exist). What kind of .22lr round would you recommend for most damage and stopping power? Also price wouldn't matter, since it's ur emergency shtf ammo, not ur 2000/month ammo. And damn 2000/month is a LOT. You must be able to perform brain surgery with that rifle by now lol.

  • @mrkiky I use 3 specific rounds for my .22s for max damage. Depending on range. First: Long range I use the CCI 40 Grain Velociter. Very fast and heavy bullet. Second choice for long range: CCI Stinger. Wicked fast hollow point. last for close range I use the CCI Fragmentation copper playted hollow point. It blows up into 3 large chunks upon impact. Good luck digging that bullets parts out. The CCI Velociter and Stinger can also be used for close range. But I prefer fragmentation rounds.

  • Where would we get that muzzle brake or that suppressed looking devise? How would we attach it? Would JB Weld satisfy the ATF? I have cut .22 cal barrels before, never under 16 inches, plus an eyelash. Love the short barrels.

  • @bumjim2000 Get it Midwayusa DPMS Flash Hider 5-1/2 Length 1/2-28 Thread AR-15 Matte Product 275983 16.99. Your going to have to call a machine shop and ask if they have a 1/2 inch by 28 TPI (threads per inch) Die to thread the barrel with. If not you have to buy one from Midway. It is a standard M4/16 muzzle brake thread that you will need to have the barrel cut to in order to accept that muzzle brake. JB weld Will NOT satisfy the ATF you need to have it welded in place.

  • Hey did you have to remove the sights on the standard barrel or did you just flip them down? (Rear anyway) I have heard that you have to remove them but it seems like a lot of work for tapco to make you do that

  • @308Sharpie No the rear sights are left on. Tapco makes room for them. On this rifle I removed them. I dont like the stock sights on these rifles. they work but just are not for me.

  • @shoktroop Ahh okay, just checking, have you hear of "Tech-SIGHTS"? Do you know if they would they work with this stock?

  • what kind of pouch do you have on the stock?

  • @fox10169 Look at my video lineup and it will explain all to you. It is a cell phone holder. In the video I show you how to mod it.

  • I have a similar setup. I don't mean to be disrespectful but why would you get rid of barrel length and then add 5 inches of a pretty much useless muzzle brake? I would much rather just keep an 18 1/2 inch bull-barrel to have increased accuracy and velocity.

  • @mgschutze Your not being disrespectful. It is a fair question. I like to mod guns that do not look like every body elses guns. I HATE THAT. So i mod and trick them out for more of a custom look. I chopped the barrel and added the brake purely for cosmetic reasons. I would love an SBR but I live in the socialist state of California were we are barely allowed to have guns at all so to stay out of trouble I added the brake. This is also just one of my rugers. I have Four 10/22s.

  • @shoktroop Haha I understand all too well-- I love SoCal but I hate the gun laws!

  • What aftermarket stock did you get for that? Thinking of getting a similar one. Thanks, man.

  • I love this video! Anybody who thinks a .22LR is not a good cartridge I will disagree. It kills more people in the United States every year than any other cartridge. Like others have posted, let me see if you do not run or duck if i am throwing lead at you regardless of caliber!

  • I agree with you in everything except with the red dot sight.

I prefer to use something that doesnt need bateries.

Instead of it i prefer to keep the iron sights.

PD: i hate those stupid ones that claims for a no guns society, they will be the same morons that will run to people that knows how to use weapons in case of trouble to be protected.

    Assholes...

In a perfect world maybe there is no need for guns, this one is far far FAR of being perfect.

  • i have gone through 3 ruger 10/22 none have worked worth a crap. using only factory mags and all types of different ammo including cci mini mags and stingers. any help? i cannot get the shells to eject this is now the 3rd gun i have gotten from ruger. HELP!!!!

  • @mississippigunner Sending you an email response. :0)

  • Buddy, your gun is awesome!! I'm doing a similar build....

  • @SuperC457 Thank you! I swear I love building these things and modding them out. Limited only by your imagination and money of course.. :) When your done with your build let me see it and I will post it on my site.

  • Love the description brother, right on the money! Somebody tries to take my guns, they're gettin a 5.56 shower! Thanks for being a true blooded American!

  • awesome gun, but whered you get that butt cuff? i cant find one for a 10/22.

  • my opinion, 10/22 is THE BEST for ZOMBIES!

put a silencer on a .22 is quieter then a paintball gun! stealth would be your best weapon!

  • @ddavid993 I wish I could. I live in the Socialist state of California. We are barely allowed to have guns. Own a silencer/pressor? OMG hell no! Only assasins use those! Don't you watch TV? It seems our states Gov thinks they are evil and used by assasins only.

  • @shoktroop well i dont think if a zombie apocolipse happend i think all rules good out the door

like everything in this world, everything can be obtained! legal or illegally lol when SHTF or zombies come out i dun think legalitty well be a problem anymore

  • @ddavid993 Amen to that brother. If the SHTF I would do whatever it takes to secure my family and my home. I would stop at nothing including building or making improvised weapons. Punji pits, man traps, home made suppressors. NOTHING would be stop me from doing what it takes to secure my freedoms from ALL enemy. Including any GOV or Police. Shit the POLICE are the ones that are going to come and get your guns along with the ATF! Just like Katrina they went door to door and took away peoples guns

  • Maybe all you haters of the .22 should actually shoot one before commenting .......I could fuckin drop you faster than you could raise that heavy high powered rifle up to aim... with my Ruger 10/22. Definitely not a toy gun.
